Samuel Johnson's blurred vision cleared up slightly, and he seemed somewhat puzzled, asking, "What?"
"If you don't like Annie, then don't get engaged to her. You need to think clearly about what it is you truly want." He had said as much as he could; the rest was beyond his control.
Samuel Johnson frowned slightly, brushed off Tim Morrison's hand, and hummed softly, "What are you even talking about? I like Annie, that's why I want to get engaged to her. Have you ever seen me date anyone for as long as half a year?"
Tim Morrison's frown deepened. This man was still deceiving himself, but Tim didn't know whether he should shake him awake with a punch.
Perhaps it was better to let him go on deceiving himself. Could life really proceed the way Samuel Johnson wished?
Maybe it was for the best. Once everything was set in stone, that person would no longer be disturbed by Samuel Johnson's presence.
