Samuel Johnson carried the dinner plate upstairs and stood in front of Amanda Smith's room. He took the key out of his pocket to unlock the door before pushing it open and entering.
When he opened the door, he couldn't help but be startled by the darkness inside. He frowned slightly, fumbled around the wall for a moment, and found the switch to turn on the light.
After his eyes adjusted to the light, he walked into the room, set the dinner plate on the coffee table not far away, then turned to look at Amanda.
She was still leaning against the wall, the same as when he had left, not even changing her position.
Her face was buried in her knees, and she looked pitifully small.
Samuel frowned slightly, closed the door, then turned to Amanda and said, "Get up and eat."
The person leaning against the wall didn't move at all, as if she hadn't heard a thing.
