Evan Willow locked up the gift and turned to walk to the bedroom: "It's getting late, you should head to bed soon."

The old butler watched Evan's retreating back for a long while before sighing again.

He didn't necessarily wish for Amanda Smith to be by Evan's side; he just felt that only with that person by his side did he not seem so lonely.

Anybody who could elicit the expression Evan had when Amanda was with him would be a cause for happiness in the butler's eyes.

His young master had truly been alone... for far too long.

Amanda Smith opened her eyes to the white ceiling of the hospital room.

The air was thick with the smell of disinfectant, which made her stomach convulse so badly that she almost threw up.

"Ah! You're awake?"

The young nurse who had been keeping watch eagerly exclaimed upon seeing her eyes open, leaned over for a closer look, and then dashed out of the room like a little bird.
