Amanda Smith's dawdling was irritating Samuel Johnson. He grabbed her wrist and pulled her forcefully, throwing her onto the bed despite her desperate struggles.

Meeting Amanda's frightened eyes, he let out a light laugh, his words cruel, "Stop putting on an act. Who was it that shamelessly climbed into my bed back then? Now you're pretending to be some chaste and virtuous woman; who are you trying to fool?"

Amanda moved her lips slightly, knowing she had no explanation to offer.
