[Regina POV]
As I entered, I came upon a hallway. As I pulled out the gun Axel gave me, I looked at it and couldn't help but remember, "How will he be, will he still be alive?" While I was absorbed in my thoughts, the sound of heavy footsteps made me alert.
And quite rightly so, two dinosaurs resembling velociraptors but with huge claws made their presence known after turning around at the intersection of the hallway.
I calmly took aim and fired.
"Bang! Bang!"
Blowing almost completely off its head, I'm still not used to the accuracy and shooting power this weapon has. "Without a doubt, this really is a unique weapon." Without wasting any more time, I set off.
Managing to reach a room that seemed to be for rest, as it had all the comforts to be, the only thing that took away the charm of this room was the inert body of a scientist missing part of his torso.
Approaching the door that had the word "Port" written on it, the panel on its lock told me that a DDK W disk was needed. "Damn, I have no idea where to find it."
Fortunately, the panel showed me that, per update, the disk was in the design room. "Now that's lucky. I guess being a transport route, the location of the disk needed to be left in case it was needed."
Turning to look at the map that was located on a screen, I began to analyze it and, having memorized it, set off.
Entering the central staircase, I continued down the hallway. Fortunately, no dinosaurs could be heard.
Moving quickly, I turned at the intersection and climbed the stairs. In the hallway, I noticed an open ventilation grille. I knew that because of the vent, it would save me a lot of time, so I decided to pull out a rope I had on my belt.
Climbing up, I found myself in the ventilation passage. Moving through it, I managed to reach the passage to the experimentation room.
Giving it a strong blow with my leg, the grate fell and allowed me to go down. Going down, I found myself in a rather quiet room, and that was a bad sign.
Cautiously, I moved toward the door that had the design lettering on it, hearing a noise from a grating that was right next to the door. I approached cautiously.
As I peeked out to see what the noise was about, I was taken by surprise by a dark blue velociraptor with black stripes and red spots from nose to shoulder, as well as being larger than the normal velociraptor.
Leaving the fence, he quickly rushed towards me; throwing me to the right side, he managed to dodge his onslaught. Being on the ground, I aim and start shooting at him.
"Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!"
As I relax my stance, believing him to be dead, he rises again and with surprise on my face, I fire again.
"Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!"
Without relaxing, I approach very carefully, looking at the pool of blood I sigh in relief. Looking at him, I frown in dismay, since I was surprised to see that, despite the power of the gun, the bastard managed to withstand six shots with wounds barely bigger than a golf ball.
"Now I remember Axel mentioning to Kirk that perhaps, due to the third energy, there would be mutations and now I can see the clear example of some dinosaurs starting to mutate," I mutter as I look at the mutated raptor's body.
Glancing at the magazine, I see that there are barely a few bullets left over; putting Axel's pistol away in case of emergency, I pull out my 9mm. "Fortunately I haven't even expended a magazine, I must be extremely careful now."
Determined to hurry, I move to enter the stabilizer design room; entering, I just take a small peek to see if there are any dinosaurs.
Seeing none quickly, I move to pick up the DDK W disk lying on a table in the center of the room.
As I was about to leave, I hear gunfire from a machine gun; rushing out, I find Gail killing a blue velociraptor. "Gail! What are you doing here?"
"I'm looking for Kirk; the cowardly bastard must have been hiding around this area." With just those words, Gail doesn't wait for my response and starts to enter through other doors.
Shaking my head, I head back toward the ventilation duct so I can make my way to the port entrance.
Fortunately, I didn't cross paths with any dinosaurs on my way again; in the break room, I head for the port door and insert the DDKW disk. Looking at the letters to figure out the password, I notice that this time it is very easy.
Entering the password "WATERWAY", the door finally opens. On the other side, I find a room that has some lockers and a control panel; also, a corpse that has a radio.
Ignoring the corpse, I move towards the panel that will open the way to the port; seeing that it is blocked, I decide to call Rick.
"The door leading to the port is already open, I need you to come unlock the panel."
"Oho! You're certainly efficient enough, Regina, how about going out to dinner after this?" his voice sounded flirtatious. This bastard sure has a hard face.
"Just hurry up. Besides, cowards aren't my type."
"Ouch! That last one was unnecessary." Hearing his sad voice, I roll my eyes and cut the call.
After a few minutes, Rick arrives and heads to the panel, "Mmm. It'll take me a few minutes to open it." As I cross my arms and wait for Rick to finish, the radio holding the body begins to play and out of it comes a voice with an urgent tone:
"Do you copy, Mike? I've got the key to the port, but I'm being followed by a lizard. I'm going to the main elevator in area B3. Hurry!"
Finished with the communication, I glance sideways at Rick and make a mocking comment, "Hmp! Looks like we're not the only ones having problems."
"I'm glad you're amused, but if that survivor gets eaten, we'll have to get the key out of that dinosaur's stomach! You have to save him!" Rick replies as he continues to try to unlock the panel.
"Oh my goodness! I don't mind saving him, but seriously, does it always have to be me?" Holding a hand to my forehead, I exclaim, sighing in exasperation, I take off running towards the warehouse we came into the area through.
With no difficulty in my path, I arrive and watch as the elevator screen shows that it will soon arrive. With palpable tension in the air, I hear a cry of pain coming from the elevator.
As it opens, I begin to recoil in disbelief, as what came out of the elevator was the cursed T-rex I was confronted with, that missing eye makes me identify it.
I can see how through its one eye the T-rex recognizes me and with a snarl of hatred it lunges at me. Narrowly dodging it, I watch as the idiot collides with a backup power generator and begins to electrocute himself and drops possibly dead.
Sighing in relief, I see the stiff body of this one. "Whew! Seriously little buddy, you sure are persistent." Moving past him, I head for the elevator and find only the upper body of the survivor.
"Well, not everyone can survive a T-rex encounter. I hope and Axel made it." Shaking my head, I start to check the body, managing to find the port key. With hurried steps, I move to return to Rick.
With no obstacle in my way back, I arrive with Rick. As he watches me arrive, he sees me and I toss him the key. "Think fast."
Catching it, Rick exclaims with glee, "Okay, it's time to get off this island!" punching in some codes, the door finally opens.
"All right, Regina, let's get moving." Nodding, we move down the hallway encountering an anomaly that makes Rick's smile disappear.
Looking at the anomaly, Rick exclaims, "What the heck is that?" The anomaly was a spacetime distortion that prevented them from being able to continue moving forward.
Stepping forward, I reply to Rick, "I saw the same thing in the experimental lab, Axel mentioned to me that this is a spacetime distortion, this could be a real problem."
Nodding, Rick steps a little closer, "It must have happened as a side effect of the third energy experiment." Proceeding to pull out a coin and flip it.
Watching as the coin begins to deform into a spaghetti shape and then disappears, watching as the coin disappears, Rick panics and in a fearful voice begins a tirade, "How are we supposed to move with this thing getting in our way!"
Watching as he begins to panic, I make a derisive comment to him, "Well, either we find a way to remove it or we'll end up turned into dinosaur poop."
Turning to look at me with an annoyed face, Rick claims, "That's not even fucking funny, Regina." Seeing my mocking look, he takes a deep breath and tries to calm down.
"Alright, we'll do this, I'll enter the relevant data into the computer, you look around for any clues on how to remove this. Also, here, I found this disk." With those last words, Rick returns without looking at the bored face I was giving him.
Looking at the disk, I see it's a DDK disk with the letter S. "I guess it'll do me some good."
Leaving the hallway, I set off to find clues. "I must investigate the door by the center stairs."
Moving, I enter the door that will lead me towards my destination. Entering the large hallway, I move toward where I climbed up the ventilation shaft.
As I climb the stairs, I hear a loud bang and heavy footsteps approaching the staircase. Hiding, I poke my head out a little and see that it is one of the dinosaurs I encountered at the beginning, the ones with the long claws.
Crawling so he doesn't see me, I arrive through the ventilation grill through which I climbed, getting up I head with slow steps towards the door that is in front of it.
As I enter I breathe a sigh of relief "Uff, it's a good thing he didn't see me, I doubt my weapon could do him considerable damage and I don't want to risk it" Looking around the room I see that it's silent.
Glancing through the window to my right I see that there is a scientist with a twisted neck, some terminals indicating that you pass with your authorization card.
"It seems to be a security pass room by the devices and panels that are there." Walking towards the door in front I approach the panel in front of it and it says you need the DDK S disk to enter "This is starting to look suspicious, I always find the disks without having to search them thoroughly Is it fate?" Shrugging I insert the disk.
Showing me this time a somewhat complicated password;
<CODE>
S A T U R D A Y
B A B Y
N I L L G H I T
Z F E V E R
<KEY>
2 5 6 7 9
Taking a few minutes to think, I remember step by step the instructions to find out the password; after a few minutes, I manage to discover the password, which was "STABILIZER".
As I opened the door, an alarm began to sound. Watching as the door began to close quickly, I enter.
Entering, I find myself in a hallway lit only by green light. Moving into it, I stop when an announcement sounds:
<Initiating decontamination process>. At that, a red light runs through my whole body, giving it a cold feeling:
<Effective sterilization in the facility>. After a few seconds, I see the red light disappear, so I continue on my way.
Arriving at the exit door, I find on the other side a facility belonging to a laboratory.
As I inspect the lab, I find several devices that are currently emitting many alerts, but nothing that can help me solve the space-time anomaly.
At one specific door, I was asked for the level B3 access card. Upon inserting it, I was allowed access.
On the other side there is a corridor with large doors blocking the way. Looking at the panel next to these, I approach and see a red light.
Pressing the button that will cause the doors to open, I am shown an announcement, "No access." With a furrowed brow, I was about to turn back, but Rick's announcement stopped me.
"Regina, I've allowed you to access the panels; now you can open the doors and deactivate some lacerations out there."
Without answering him, I hang up the call and proceed to press the button again; this time, the doors open, giving me a view into a passageway that allows a view into the void there because of its immense size, plus I manage to observe a Generator that loomed before me, surrounded by data panels and controls.
Approaching a panel, I am pleasantly surprised to find that the generator is that of the third energy. Using my communicator, I call Rick in a cheerful voice: "Rick, I've found the main generator for the third energy."
With the same joy in his voice, Rick replies to me, "Great! See if you can activate it." Hanging up the call, I move on, observing how the generator is so large that you can't see the bottom if you peek over the railings.
Reaching the control room, I move to the panel that is connected to the main generator. Manipulating it, I get a warning "Insufficient power; go to the power room and change the power priority."
Frowning, I look back at the door that has S.P. written on it. "I guess that's where I'm supposed to go."
Entering it, I find a room with only a huge screen indicating the energy status. Right next to the screen, there is a still-living scientist lying with a gunshot wound just above her chest.
Rushing over, I crouch down and say, "Hey, are you all right?" Receiving no response, I inspect her and notice that she is unconscious.
"After I activate the generator, I'll take her with us," I mutter as I stand up, moving to the panel on the screen, which prompts me if I want to set the generator as a priority.
Activating that the generator be prioritized, I move back to the panel on this one and activate the generator, watching through the screen as it begins to inspect the generator, I am shown a warning that makes me angry:
<Note: A key card is required to run the generator>.
Slamming the panel, I exclaim, "Damn it, if it's not one thing it's another!"A gunshot coming from the power room distracted me.
Running back, I encounter the dead scientist and a silhouette running out the back door.
"Hey, wait!" running after the silhouette, I find myself on the other side with a hallway and at the intersection I see someone in a robe turning around. As I run, I see a door close.
Hurrying to follow the person, I rush through the door, finding myself on the other side with a library.
As I ran into the intersection of this one, someone points at my head, "Don't move." Raising my arms and seeing out of the corner of my eye that it's Kirk, I calmly ask him, "What do you think you're doing?"
"Carving my name into history with the ultimate power source."
"Open your eyes, you crazy bastard. Your precious creation is nothing more than another weapon destined to be misused," I reply earnestly.
"Mmm... Looks like he's got a bit of surface intelligence. Too bad it's wasted on someone who's going to die," as I prepared to take the gun from him, a gunshot interrupted my action.
Seeing Kirk's gun fly, turning, I look to see that the shooter is Gail.
Without looking away from Kirk, Gail makes a statement, "Rick, we have hit our target, come immediately to Kirk's personal lab, you should have a map by now, hurry!"
Nodding in appreciation towards Gail.
Roughly, Gail ushers Kirk into a room; following them, I watch as she forcefully sits Kirk in a chair.
"Sorry to interrupt your speech, Doctor, what were you saying?" said Gail with a mocking face.
Undeterred by the mocking face, Kirk replies, "Yes. I was saying that I discovered how the third energy could affect space-time when it was released three years ago. I thought the energy had the ability to transfer portions of space into another space-time dimension."
With a dramatic pause, Kirk continues, "But I was wrong. Space was not transferred; it was exchanged. Just so you can understand, the third energy can replace one portion of space with another portion of another time."
"What!" I exclaim in an incredulous voice.
"Yes. I came to this conclusion after tonight's final experiment. You saw the effects; those beasts occupy the space in which these facilities are located, almost 65 million years ago."
"Right, and that's why those dinosaurs have appeared in our time," Gail speaks up interrupting Kirk.
"Exactly. And that's what I've done!" Rising to his feet in an excited voice, Kirk replies to her.
"Aha And how many people were slaughtered before discovered that?", I ask.
"Who cares? The numbers are unimportant. Let's just say it was a lot. Extraordinary deaths for ordinary men don't you think?"
"You sound like a demon."
"A god or a demon? Mmm. I don't care about that. Just my experiment," Kirk exclaims grandly.
"You're a damn fool." At that moment, Gail decides to interrupt in an authoritative voice: "That's enough. Only one thing matters now; your great invention is blocking our escape."
"You need to destroy the vortex. Letting the third energy generator levels overload. In theory, the third energy and the vortex will cancel each other out if they come into contact. But there's a small problem, if they don't stop the generator overload, this whole region will shift to another point in space-time."
"Then we make sure we'll be off this island when the swap happens. No problem," Gail said.
I reply in a hurried voice, "But we couldn't even activate the device!"
"Ha ha ha! They're missing the initializer and stabilizer aren't they?" Kirk replies as he looks at me like I'm stupid.
Ignoring his stare, I reply, "Where are they!"
Seeing Kirk's silence, Gail walks up to him and with her gun points it at his head. Looking at the gun, Kirk replies, "Calm down. They must be stored in one of the rooms on security level A on floor B3." Pulling a card from his robe, he hands it to me.
"Very good, doctor. Now you understand our situation. If we live, you live."
Crossing my arms, I wait for Rick to come. While waiting for Rick, Gail approaches me and in a serious tone of voice speaks, "Regina, if you happen to cross paths with the survivor who was with us, you must kill him."
Him words are like a bombshell that sends my mind into chaos and with a shocked look at what she had just said, I ask him, "Why?" as it was the only thing that could come out of my mouth.
Looking at my reaction, Gail shakes her head and just says, "It's an order, I can't give you details." Nodding still perplexed at her words.
While I was deep in my thoughts about what Gail just said and why I remembered Tom's report, Rick rushes into the room, snapping me out of my thoughts.
"I'm aware of the situation, I'll set up a program that will launch a third energy stream into the vortex."
"I'll keep an eye on the doctor," Gail spoke and turning to look at me continues, "Regina, you find those devices and overload the third energy. Remember. They are in a security level A room on floor B3."
Interrupting Gail, Rick speaks in a perplexed voice: "Wait! That whole area is crawling with dinosaurs right now, including that T-rex."
"Never mind, I'll take my chances if it means we can get out of this hellhole." I shake my head and with a determined voice I speak.
Nodding toward me, Gail proceeds to move next to Kirk. Turning to look at me, Rick makes one last comment before running off heading for the harbor.
"Here, this card will help you access the elevator that will drop you in the break room, right now we're in area B2, with that elevator you'll make it to area B3 faster. Don't let your guard down for a second!"
Nodding, I proceed to move.
[Axel POV]
After I finish listening to Kirk's explanation, I decide to go ahead towards the generator since right now there should be some mutated raptors and I doubt Regina can alone against them.
So I'll do her a favor and clear the place. As the door that will take me to the generator is not far, I proceed to move calmly.
Arriving at a huge passageway that houses a huge structure, if you look, you can notice that you can't see the bottom because of the lack of light.
"I imagine that at the bottom is the helicopter, because of how huge the structure is." Shrugging my shoulders, I keep walking. Arriving at the third energy generator, I find a group of 4 raptors prowling the corridor.
Durum!
The sound of the door opening alerted them; quickly glancing at me, they rushed towards me. Calmly from my elite training in situations like this, I fire.
Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!
With great precision, I managed to blow off the heads of two of them; the other two managed to dodge a mortal wound and, failing that, I hit them in their bodies, managing to resist the powerful bullets of my Jackal.
Demonstrating their high resistance, the remaining 2 rush towards me, killing one by blowing his head off; the other one manages to rush towards me and manages to break the whole part of the right arm of my lycra to, later, shoot again and kill him.
Approaching the raptors, I look at them indifferently. "I was overconfident, I must be more careful."
Crouching down, I grab one of the fangs that managed to remain after I blew their heads off. Leaning back against the railing, I tear off the part of the cloth on the right side, leaving only my skin exposed.
After a few minutes, I hear an elevator on my right side open and out comes the woman who is driving my hormones crazy.
Stepping out of the elevator, she stops for a few seconds and with an indescribable glare exclaims, "Axel! You're still alive!" walking towards me, standing close to me, I make a mocking comment.
"Well, I didn't end up being dinosaur poop, as you can see, I just got my spandex ripped." Laughing a forced laugh at my mockery, he takes a deep breath and puts on a serious face.
"I'm glad you're still alive, but right now we need to overload the generator to make it out of here, help me by attaching the stabilizer."
Handing it to me, she runs off towards the generator, ignoring the mutated raptors. Slightly suspicious of her behavior, I shrug and proceed to follow her.
" Alright, I'll go down and set up the initializer, meet me at the panel to activate the generator." With those words, I watch as Regina begins to descend in a small elevator there, trying to avoid my gaze.
Frowning even more suspiciously, I head to the stabilizer panel; I place it very carefully to then move to her panel and activate it.
After this, I run towards the panel; as I was moving forward, an alarm sounds:
<Alert; third energy production is reaching critical point. Suspend operations immediately>.
After the alarm, I move with more haste, managing to reach the generator panel; while manipulating it, Regina arrives and sticks to my back.
Looking over my shoulder at her, I speak to her. "Once overloaded, there's no going back, are you ready?"
With a sigh, she gives me a slightly sad smile and says, "Then we won't look back."
Nodding with a smile, I proceed to get serious and turn the power up to maximum; at that, the facility began to shake as a warning went off:
<Danger: critical parameters exceeded begins third power overload. Evacuate all personnel immediately>.
[General POV]
It could be seen how the entire facility began to shake, and in a room in Kirk's personal lab were two people, which were Gail and Kirk. As the room began to shake, one of the pipes above Kirk began to detach and seeing the danger, Gail with a quick movement manages to throw Kirk off and save him from being crushed by the pipes in the ceiling.
Looking down at Gail under all the pipes, with blood running down his face, Kirk looks up at him and with a mad grin mocked him.
"Ha ha ha ha, you moron, what's the point of saving me, how pathetic!" Turning to flee, but not before grabbing his pistol.
Unnoticed by Kirk, Gail managed to throw a pager at his back, subsequently trying to get out of the pipes crushing him.
[Axel POV]
"Alright, Regina, it's time to run," I tell her and watch as with a somewhat blank stare she nods. Moving quickly, leaving the generator room, we start running down the hallway at the beginning.
At one point, I see her stop in the middle of the hallway and turn to see me with a serious look on her face.
"Gail asked me to kill you if I saw you again, she didn't give me the details, but I gathered it: the way you handled a gun, your reflexes, that confident attitude in the face of danger, Tom's report."
Pulling out the memory in which he had the third energy data stored.
So when he was behind my back, he stole my memory, I say to myself. While Regina continues speaking, "And what confirms my suspicions is that here you have the data of the third energy, Axel, you are not a scientist. Who are you really?"
I feel a knot in my stomach and, not wanting to use Jackal on her, I grimly pull out the gun I had obtained from the dead guard at the beginning of this hell and point it at her.
"Oh, Regina, why didn't you trust me."
"I wanted to trust you, Axel, but I can't," pulling out his 9mm and pointing it at me.
"I was hoping we wouldn't have to end up like this," I speak with sadness in my voice.
"So in the end, we were just pawns so you could get out of here and accomplish your goals?", angrily, Regina claims me.
"I was just doing my job, Regina."
"And I'll do mine," she shouts at me. I can see her hand shaking, she's not sure about shooting me; I can see the doubt in her eyes.
"I don't want to hurt you... So shoot," I say lowering my gun. Looking at my action, Regina sighs defeated and also lowers her gun.
As we looked into each other's eyes, the hallway began to shake violently.
At that moment a gunshot rang out, distracting us. A great burning runs through my right arm, the impact of the bullet makes my arm recoil; bewildered, I bring my left arm to the wound.
As I stared in shock at the wound I had, the hallway collapses from the tremor.
Due to the shaking and the hallway collapsing, I begin to fall; Regina quickly rushes towards me to hold me up while shouting "Axel!"
With one arm I am hanging on, as my other arm is injured. Her arm grabbing my hand is the only thing that keeps me from falling.
Looking in shock at whoever shot me, I see Kirk laughing his head off. "Ha ha ha ha! I knew you were behind my investigation too." With that last comment, Kirk runs off.
"Regina..."
"I'm not going to drop you, Axel!" she yells, clinging tightly to my hand.
Watching as the hallway begins to crumble completely, I look into her eyes and in a determined voice say, "Let go of me!"
"Shut up, I'll get you up on my own, hang on!"
"I would have liked to have invited you to dinner."
"Then do it after we get out of here!" he exclaims in a breathy voice due to the force he is applying.
Slipping my arm more I give a quick glance into the void and with a small smile, I look into her eyes.
"Take care of yourself, Regina." With those last words, I stop applying force to my hand, causing her grip on me to slip and drop me into the void.
"Nooo!" she screams in desperation.
As I fall, I give her a smile and then disappear from her sight through the darkness of the void.
[Regina POV]
"Nooo!"
He fell. I didn't have enough strength to pick him up, despite everything that happened. He was always there helping me, saving me from many occasions, but right now I couldn't save him.
Helplessness gripped me as I watched him disappear into the darkness, remembering every moment when his unconditional support was my anchor.
Now, I am left with the weight of loss and the painful reality that I was unable to reciprocate his generosity when I needed him most.
With helplessness reflected on my face, I stand up. Now is not the time for sentimentality, I need to escape this island and when I do I can mourn his loss.
Remembering how Kirk escaped, I become anxious as Gail did not leave with him, I run to where I was holding him.
Entering the room I find Gail passed out from the pipes falling on him. "Gail! Hold on, I'll help you!"
Helping him out of the pipes, I notice how he is bleeding from the head. Leaning his arm on my shoulder, I start to carry him towards the port where Rick is. We need to get out of this hellhole now!
Leaving the room, I lead him down the hallway. Looking at the spot where Axel fell, I stare at him for just a few seconds then shake my head and move towards the elevator.
As we were going down the elevator, I remembered Axel. I never hesitated to follow orders, but when I wanted to follow the order to kill him something stopped me, that feeling I had never felt before.
"So I grew attached to him to such an extent..."
Reaching the break room, I notice that Gail is starting to wake up. Still helping him, I make my way to the port entrance.
As I enter this one, Rick is still fiddling with the panel, without taking his eyes off the panel he begins to speak.
"Good! The overflow levels are increasing. A little more. All is well." Stopping manipulating the panel, he turns to look at us. "Gail! What happened to him?"
"A big pipe fell on him. But Kirk's gone."
"That bastard, I'm going to kill him!" Proceeding to activate something on the panel, he turns to see a screen and says "That's our getaway transport" Showing himself a hovercraft. "Let's go!"
"Wait, what about Kirk?" I ask.
"What about him!!! It's a miracle we're still alive, forget about him!"
"Don't forget the mission. You're not here to babysit me." already awake Gail interrupts us. Looking at him, Rick frowns and replies.
"I'm sorry. But I have a conscience. I'm going to take you back, now."
"No. You guys leave. I'm going to get Kirk."
"What? You're crazy! Don't you remember our situation? You can't control the third energy anymore! Staying here is suicide!"
"I know that! If I'm not back in 30 minutes, you guys escape without me."
Moving closer to Gail I put my arm on her shoulder. "In your condition you won't survive, I'll get Kirk, I have a bone to pick with that bastard."
"In that case take this, I put a tracker on Kirk, this will tell you where he is." Giving me a small screen marking Kirk's location.
"Then let's not waste any time Regina, we'll meet you at the Hovercraft, hurry up." Nodding, I look at the screen showing Kirk is very close.
Running out, I enter the corridor of the central stairs. Running straight ahead, I arrive at a door that asks me for a level A card.
Entering, I get the surprise of seeing Kirk unconscious with a ventilation grill above him. "That and more you deserve, you bastard."
Grabbing Kirk, I hurry back to my companions. Arriving at the port, I head towards the warehouse that has a hovercraft. Seeing me, Rick exclaims with joy. "Regina! It's good to see you safe and sound."
Giving a small smile, I go and place the unconscious Kirk next to Gail, who gives me a nod. Turning to look at Rick, I ask him. "So, can we get out of here now?"
"Not yet, I'm fixing something on the engine and it doesn't have enough fuel."
"In that case, I'll take care of the fuel."
"Looks like this thing uses some kind of nuclear power, take this." Tossing me a small empty energy tank. Moving into the warehouse, I go and refuel the tank. After filling it, I quickly return to Rick, tossing him the tank. "Enough?"
At that precise moment, footsteps are heard, shaking the Hovercraft's storage room. "Shit, it's the T-rex and I'm still not done with the repair!" Rick exclaims nervously.
"Leave the T-rex to me, you take care of the repair."
"In that case, use this." Throwing a grenade launcher at me, with everything ready, I rush out of the warehouse, finding the open place containing only fuel tanks.
Hearing the footsteps getting closer and closer, I notice how one of the big doors is destroyed and out comes the T-rex.
"Oh little buddy, let's settle the score once and for all."
[General POV]
The huge dinosaur was advancing toward her with a look of recognition.
Its jaws opened menacingly. Regina adjusted her grip on the grenade launcher, focusing her gaze on the target. She had no time to hesitate.
With lethal precision, Regina took aim and fired. The grenade shot out, leaving a trail of smoke in its wake. It impacted directly into the T-rex's side, creating an explosion that shook the warehouse.
The T-rex's roar of pain was heard, watching it writhe in pain she took the moment to reload the grenade launcher, took aim and fired again. The grenade flew straight at the T-rex's head, detonating in a flash of light and fire.
At that precise moment the Hovercraft arrived on Regina's left side. Leaping out Rick with a bazooka aimed at the fuel tank next to the T-rex who was still writhing in pain.
Looking at the vehicle, Regina quickly ran to it and jumped in. Looking at Regina who boarded the vehicle, Rick didn't wait any longer and fired, the missile formed a trajectory leaving smoke in its wake, impacting the fuel tank, causing a huge explosion.
"All right! It's time to get the hell out of here," was what Rick exclaimed to start driving the hovercraft. However, the T-rex roared and dove into the water to start following them, demonstrating why it was considered the lethal predator, as it would not let any of its potential prey escape if it had it in front of it.
Due to the explosion the third energy went out of control and began to absorb everything in its path, later exchanging it for another space from another time.
"Come on, speed up!" shouted Regina as she saw how the third energy began to absorb everything in its path, including the T-rex that gave a last roar before disappearing.
Managing to get out of the cave that overlooked the harbor they reach the open sea, which just happened to be giving a beautiful view of the sunrise.
Looking back they see that the part of the island that had the facilities has disappeared. Sighing with relief, they can all relax as they finally got out of this Dino-crisis.
Relaxing in the seat, Regina takes out the gun Axel gave her and with a delicate tone of voice says, "I made it out of this alive in part because of your help. I won't forget you." Bringing the gun to his chest, he gently hugs her.
"Mission accomplished team, it's time to go back," was what Gail said so that later Rick begins to drive the hovercraft, moving forward they get lost in the distance with the beautiful sunrise in the background.
[A few days later]
The dim light from a screen illuminated a room, revealing only the fuzzy outline of a man having a conversation with someone through the screen.
The air was thick with tension as they exchanged words. The man on the screen was a mysterious figure, his face hidden by strategic shadows.
Only his eyes, illuminated by the glare of the screen. On the other side of the connection, the man in the darkened room listened intently, his features also hidden in the surrounding shadows.
"You took your time in concluding the assignment," said the figure on the screen, his voice filtered to protect his identity.
The man in the room nodded, though his gestures were barely discernible in the gloom. "It certainly wasn't easy, the dangers were unexpected. But I managed to accomplish the assignment, that's the important thing don't you think?"
The figure on the screen nodded, though his face remained hidden behind the digital distortion.
"We knew it would not be an easy task. However, we have confidence in your ability to overcome any obstacles. The information you have gathered is invaluable, and now we need you to deliver it personally to the designated location."
The man in the room frowned slightly, though his expression was lost in the shadows. "I understand the importance, but I need to make sure my end of the bargain is kept. It wasn't easy to get it, and the agreed compensation needs to be increased."
The figure on the screen emitted an echoing electronic chuckle. "Of course, we understand the need to safeguard your interests. Once you hand over the data, you will receive a compensation bonus. Our organization values effective people."
A set of coordinates flashed on the screen, confirming the delivery location. "Now, go to the coordinates provided. We'll be waiting for you there."
The screen went dark, plunging the room into darkness once again. The man stood up and looked at the coordinates leading to a specific location in the United States.
With a smile on his face, he picked up a necklace that had a raptor claw on it.
Walking around the room, moonlight filtered through a window revealed the man's smiling face, which belonged to Axel.
"I guess I can pay a surprise visit to my dear Regina."
