Inside the prison fence
------------------------------
"We can get into those towers and cover someone while they run for the gate." Rick said while pointing into the prison yard which was scattered in walkers.
"No." Shane said while holding his bloody combat knife and glancing at the walkers that were banging on the fences.
"What do you mean?" Glenn asked and everyone else looked confused
"Can't waste the bullets." Shane said before pointing at the walkers banging on the fence.
"Well take all of these down through the fence before making an arrow formation and heading toward the gate, melee only. Once the gate is secured well make a circle formation and kill off the rest." Shane said
"It's not safe well be just a small few in a sea of walkers." Maggie said while shaking her head.
"You call maybe a couple dozen walkers a sea of walkers? Haha!" Shane chuckled
"Look this many walkers might seem scary but trust me when I say we can take them down easy peasy." Shane said
Finally, he got everyone to agree after a few minutes of talking.
"Bang on the fences and attract as many walkers as you can before we head into the yard." Shane said before stabbing his knife into the head of a walker and yanking it back out with a squelching noise.
A few drops of blood could be seen running down his punisher vest which gave off a eerie vibe.
Looking over he saw Amy poke a hole into a walker's head with a crowbar before yanking it out and splattering some blood on her face.
Amy saw him looking and smiled at him and he nodded.
"Alright get in formation, we run for the gate." Shane said before finally everyone got in formation except for a few people who would be in the towers in case shit went wrong along with the kids who couldn't be involved yet and a pregnant Lori.
Both he and Rick would be on the edges of the Arrow formation, the most dangerous spot because of the number of walkers.
"Open it up!"
Swoosh
Rick swung the gate wide open, and they all moved at the same time with synchronized steps.
"Keep the formation tight!" Shane yelled before running into the first walker in his path.
Gripping the walker by the throat with his left hand he held it in place before jamming his knife into its temple and shoving it out of his way with flawless movement.
Eventually the walkers started converging on them all at once so Shane did his best to kill walkers as quick as possible before helping the others who might be struggling.
Hearing a scuffle, he looked back and saw T-Dogg had tripped over a walker body while stepping backwards and a few more walkers were closing in on him.
"Rick watch my spot!" Shane shouted before running over to T-Dogg and helping him up before kicking a walker in the chest and sending it flying.
"Thanks man!" T-Dogg said with a shaky voice.
Shane ran back to his spot where Rick was getting surrounded.
"Right here!" Rick held a walker by its arms and Shane stabbed the walker in the back of the head before turning around taking down another walker that had been trying to sneak up behind him.
Thankfully his senses were very good allowing him to hear even the slightest shuffle and growl of a walker.
After killing a couple dozen walkers, they were feeling the burn, and their lungs were doing their best to suck in air but finally they made it to the gate and Rick closed it up while the others held back the oncoming walkers.
"Circle formation! Clear the rest!" Shane nodded at Rick and the group formed a big circle and would step out before taking down a walker and then stepping back into formation.
Walker after Walker the group had blood all over them and their weapons were even beginning to slip from their hands because of all the blood.
Luckily, they had training beforehand, so their bodies were barely able to keep up.
"Last one." Amy said with red bloody hair before stepping out and swinging her crowbar into the walker's skull makings its brains scatter into the air.
Everyone looked around to make sure it was indeed the last one before catching their breath.
"Everyone okay?" Rick asked looking to make sure no one got bit.
"Yeah, were good." Glenn nodded while looking around
"Good job guys. We can rest here tonight, well clear a cellblock in the morning." Shane said while looking at the pile of walker bodies that had built up.
"We gotta move these walker bodies as well, we don't want to poison this dirt with walker blood." Hershel said while waving his hand.
"Good thinking." Shane nodded before waving over at Dale and the others who were in the watchtowers to come down.
Later that night they moved all the vehicles inside the prison yard to surround them in case someone tried to shoot at them from the surrounding woods.
They were all sitting around a campfire eating the food that Glenn had gathered from his supply runs at the farm.
They had food and supplies for a few good months, so they weren't stressing.
As they all sat around the warm campfire they listened as Beth and Maggie sung them a song making them all smile.
That night they all got some good sleep before morning finally came and they had to move into the prison area where walkers could be seen wandering around.
They did the same thing they had done to clear the walkers in the prison yard before making it to the inner gate and closing it off before more walkers poured out.
During the scuffle they had ran into a few walkers wearing prison gear, but they managed to take them down.
After all the walkers had been cleared, they all noticed a few signs of a breach somewhere, so they wanted to make sure the cell block was safe and secure, so they decided to move in clear the cell block before inviting the others in.
Thankfully the cell block only had a few trapped walkers within, so they cleaned the place up and invited the rest of the group inside to get settled.
"What ya find?" Daryl asked Rick who was shaking a couple of canisters.
"Couple flashbangs, couple smoke grenades. Don't know if they'll be any good on walkers though." Rick said.
"Be good to use on people though," Daryl said while drinking the rest of the juice from a peach's container.
Shane saw Rick look at Daryl before nodding.
"During this winter for the next couple of months we'll start clearing the rest of the prison and reinforcing everything that we can," Shane said while eating some beef jerky before passing a piece to Amy who put her hand out.
"Well need to clear the halls and seal everything off. It's going to be a bitch, who knows how many walkers are in there." Daryl said before throwing his empty peach can away in the trash bag they had sat up for their trash.
"We got some of those shields from the prison guards, we can move in shield formation and clear the place out safely," Rick said while looking at T-dog who was picking up a riot gear helmet full of slime.
"We will boil all of the gear and clean in it. It will be usable then." Shane said
"Sounds good to me." T-dog said while picturing himself in a full set of riot gear.
"Chh I ain't wearing that nasty shit," Daryl said before digging into a pack of ramen and eating the noodles.
"You better go on some supply runs with me and Glenn if you're gonna be eating all our damn food," Shane said with a chuckle
"This place should have a cafeteria stocked up along with an infirmary," Rick said while thinking of all the supplies they could get from this place.
"Alright then. Get geared up we move in a few." Shane said before putting his punisher vest back on and grabbing his M16 with a holo sight he had gotten from one of the soldiers.
He slung it onto his back before putting his pistol belt on along with his K-bar belt on his right side.
He then grabbed one of the riot shields and tested the weight.
"That will do." He glanced at Amy who was watching him get geared.
"Stay here and stay on guard. Make sure the kids don't wander off." Shane pat Amy on the shoulder and she nodded.
"I'm more worried about you," Amy said while fixing his shoelace.
"Don't be. I'll make this shit look easy peasy." Shane smirked arrogantly making Amy laugh.
"Yeah." She said before he nodded and walked over to where the others were all ready to go.
"Let's roll," Shane said while following behind Daryl who would be using a flashlight and leading the way while Glenn would be in the flank and setting down arrows so they didn't get lost in the dark corridors.
They slowly walked through the dark corridors not trying to make too much noise when they rounded their third corner and ran into a group of about a dozen walkers.
"Shields," Shane said calmly as he stepped up with his shield forming a barrier with T-Dog on his left and Rick on his right.
Through the gaps, Shane and the shield holders would use their knives to take the life of a walker while the people behind them made sure none of the walkers slipped through on the edges of the shield wall.
"Push!" Shane yelled as the walkers were starting to pile up more and more as the sound began attracting them.
Slick!
Swoo!
Shane stabbed his knife over and over into the heads of the walkers in front of him and T-dog and Rick did the same creating a barrier of walker bodies that piled up.
Thirty minutes later Shane didn't feel anymore Walker's against his shield and put his shield down to see as the shield was covered in blood blocking his sight.
"Clear," Shane said while looking around to make sure everyone was okay.
"That was probably about three dozen walkers right there. All of that sound had attracted them." Shane said
"Then there shouldn't be to many more, right?" Glenn asked while looking over at Maggie who had been guarding one of the sides.
"No, but we still haven't found the cafeteria," Rick said while cleaning his knife off.
"I saw a sign back there pointing in this direction." Daryl reloaded his crossbow before pointing to a hall further down.
"Let's go," Shane said before Daryl once again led the way and they finally made it a series of double doors.
"This should be it," Rick said as he had experience with being inside a few prisons during his work as a sheriff's deputy.
Daryl opened the doors wide before He and T-dog rushed and looked around for any walkers.
"Clear!" Shane said before glancing over to the cafeteria closet area where he saw eyes peaking at him from behind the fence.
Shane pulled out his pistol before he could even blink and aimed it at one of the five people's heads.
"Come out slowly with your hands in the air. Make any quick movements and I'll put a bullet in your fucking head." Shane said while watching them slowly walk out while those behind him also realized the situation and trained their gun on the five men.
"Woah relax man." The one with the most hillbilly look said with shaking hands.
"Name?" Shane asked while keeping a close eye on the Latino man who was giving him a look he didn't like.
"I'm Axel bro."
"I'm not your bro. You five clowns are going to fucking skedaddle out of this prison as fast as you fucking can or you're not going to like what I do next." Shane said while keeping his pistol trained on the Latino man who he knew had a weapon by the bulge in his waistband.
"Yeah, no problem ma-" Axel was saying before he was interrupted by the Latino.
"That's not going to happen. I was here first; this is my prison." The Latino went reaching towards his pants.
Bang!
The Latino slumped to the floor with a bullet between his eyes.
"Noo!" The scrawny black guy went running for the door.
Bang!
Bang!
Shane put two bullets into the man's back before walking over to him and putting another round in his head making his body twitch.
"Wrong move asshole," Daryl said while looking at the two dead guys with his crossbow still trained on the other three who were scared shitless.
