Hunter's eyes flew open at the sound of banging on his door. Pulling himself out of a restless sleep, he stumbled towards the source of the commotion. The knocking continued, growing louder and more urgent with each passing second. Rubbing the sleep from his eyes, he finally pulled open the door to find Tiffany and Ryan standing there, their faces etched with worry.
"Tiffany? Ryan?" Hunter croaked, his voice still thick with sleep. "What's going on?"
Tiffany pushed past him, her eyes darting around the room as if expecting someone to jump out at her. "Hunter, Alyssa's gone," she said, her voice laced with panic.
Hunter's heart thudded in his chest as her words sunk in. He couldn't believe what he was hearing. Alyssa, his closest friend, couldn't have just vanished. Surely there had to be some kind of mistake.
"What do you mean she's gone?" Hunter stammered, his brain struggling to catch up with the sudden turn of events. "I saw her earlier today."
