"I want to rest first." Eve closed the door the moment she returned to the castle. The maids looked at the door awkwardly as she had shut it on their faces.
"The lady did not look well. Shall we inform the lord about it," asked Mia with a pale face but Daisy shook her head.
"We should not speak between our masters. They will handle this. Perhaps, her grace would feel better after some sleep." Mia bit her lips. There was more than just exhaustion. But since she was new, she did not argue about it and nodded.
In the room, Eve took out a letter pad and held the nib. But she kept staring at the parchment as if the words would flow out of it. The nib left a mark on the parchment. It slowly spread, making small veins on the parchment and she stared at it.
How it spread until it ruined the peaceful parchment. She suddenly threw it on the ground and closed her eyes.
