Chapter 265: European Branch of the Benevolent Society

London, United Kingdom. Buckingham Palace, Palace Gardens.

Dane followed Oaks numbly as they admired the beautiful scenery of the garden. A group of adorable corgis were running ahead, led by none other than Moco!

"Chairman, you didn't tell me you were here for an investiture ceremony!"

Dane rubbed his forehead. He was wondering why Oaks had brought the beloved Moco with him, but as soon as they got off the plane, they were whisked away by a convoy to Buckingham Palace...

Then, in the presence of the international media, Oaks received a knighthood from the Queen of England in a grand ceremony!

Knight Commander of the Order of the British Empire, this is the 2nd from highest rank in the order. Although Oaks couldn't use the title of "Sir" before his name because he wasn't a British citizen, he could permanently add the letters "KBE" after his name.

"You've been busy with Sokovia lately, and this was decided not long ago."

Oaks shrugged nonchalantly.

"Besides, it's not a big deal. When the royal family learned that I decided to establish the European branch of the Benevolent Society in London, this knighthood was bestowed upon me—

Not to mention the matter of Greenwich."

On the surface, the Queen's investiture was to recognize Oaks's outstanding contributions to global environmental and philanthropic causes, as well as his significant efforts to protect Greenwich during the "Convergence" event.

But in reality, there were two more reasons.

First, the media noticed that the Queen's complexion was greatly improved. Her wrinkles had diminished, her skin was moisturized and radiant, and she no longer walked like an almost ninety-year-old lady...

Well, it was probably because Lady Carter had an encounter with Her Majesty while negotiating with the British government on behalf of S.H.I.E.L.D...

As a veteran British agent and the founder of S.H.I.E.L.D., it was hard to imagine that the British royal family had no connection with her—especially since her funeral was supposed to be held in London.

So after that, the British royal family suddenly extended an olive branch to the Benevolent Society.

They not only voluntarily provided a venue for the branch but also confirmed the investiture ceremony.

Tony, who also participated in the Battle of Greenwich, did not receive an invitation.

So Oaks returned the favor and had Agent Carter pass three bottles of specially formulated "Super Sustained Release" Fountain of Vitality potion to Her Majesty.

The effects were not as exaggerated as those on Carter, but it would bring Her Majesty to a state similar to when Peggy Carter visited S.H.I.E.L.D. to see Nick Fury.

One bottle of the Fountain of Vitality elixir could maintain Her Majesty's condition for three years. In exchange, she bestowed a second-class knighthood upon Oaks. The Queen made a huge profit.

Of course, this was one of the highest secrets in the royal family, kept hidden from the public.

Now, the other matter...

The Queen took a liking to Oaks's dog!

As the reputation of the Benevolent Society spread worldwide, the most representative "Three Beloved Companions" naturally became well-known.

There was Goose, the orange cat who served as the logo of the Benevolent Society, Coco, the Ragdoll cat who represented the "Field Operations Department," and Moco, the corgi who represented the "Administrative Department."

The Queen had no resistance to corgis at all.

The problem was, among all the corgis in the UK, could one find a corgi smarter, more adorable, and more unique than Moco, who had the spirit of nature flowing through him?

Clearly not.

So, the Queen had a little scheme in mind.

The corgis running ahead with Moco were carefully selected by Her Majesty herself, the finest and most suitable bitches from the royal household...

"What the hell, she 'wants to meet the most special corgi in the world'..."

Oaks sighed helplessly, pinching his brow.

"Isn't this like a marriage scam for breeding purposes?"

The Queen's eyes lit up when she saw Moco earlier. She wished to bestow honors and titles upon the corgi as well!

"Uh... Chairman, are you just going to let the royal family do as they please?"

Dane's face was full of embarrassment. Wasn't he supposed to come here to establish the branch of the Benevolent Society?

"I can't refuse the Queen's small request. Besides, Moco has never had a girlfriend, so let it be."

Oaks rubbed his head. He had already agreed to leave Moco here for a few days while he attended to his own business.

If Moco truly left a bloodline with the British royal family, it wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing.

After all, without the infusion of Oaks's natural power, they couldn't possess Moco's unique abilities. At most, they would be a bit smarter and healthier.

With these little guys, the development of the European branch of the Benevolent Society would be much smoother.

"Let's go, let's see our new branch—this is a genuine Benevolent Society asset gifted by the royal family."

While Moco enjoyed a luxurious life here, Oaks brought Dane to the branch of the Benevolent Society—

Right across from the Natural History Museum in London.

"Wow, no wonder it's a royal gesture. This location is amazing!"

Dane excitedly looked at his new office space.

"Moco is truly incredible. Coming out... well, to enjoy life, and the royal family even gave such a precious house!"

He looked at Oaks, who seemed confused, and his eyes became mysterious.

"Chairman, Skoll and Hati are both males, right..."

"Stop!"

Oaks immediately put a stop to Dane's dangerous thoughts. Was it because he was the nephew of a geneticist?

His idea is just too...

Tempting, isn't it?

Well, those two aren't actually real German Shepherds and Huskies...

"Well, anyway, I'll leave this place for you to handle. Once the formalities are done, the support staff from headquarters will arrive."

Oaks checked the time and nodded.

"Also, tomorrow, your uncle Dr. Garrett invited me to his castle. I'm going out for a bit, and tomorrow I'll go directly to the castle."

He rubbed his chin, feeling a bit excited.

"A castle, I wonder if it will be as eerie and terrifying as where the Count Dracula resides..."

"Um, Chairman, that doesn't exist."

Dane waved his hands awkwardly. After all, that was part of his family's heritage.

"I lived there when I was a child, and it was relatively clean and tidy. There were no vampires..."

"Well, I'm just indulging in my imagination."

Oaks took out the keys and opened the door, leading Dane inside to observe the future branch headquarters. He nodded in satisfaction.

"The authentic local decorative style, with some minor modifications it can be used directly—"

Then he handed the keys to Dane.

"If everything goes smoothly, I'll be back before dinner tomorrow. I'll make it in time for the gathering with the members of the headquarters."

"Phew... Chairman, after finishing things here, I'll go talk to my uncle."

Dane understood that the Benevolent Society's development in the area would certainly involve dealing with New Druidism.

With the help of his uncle, who had connections with their top executives, things would be much easier to handle.

"That would be great."

Oaks patted the young man's shoulder and smiled.

"Compared to Xu Shang-chi, your situation is much better. He doesn't dare to return to the country now, let alone go back to see his father...

But I always feel that it's much stronger to speak openly about family matters than to constantly avoid them."

"Yes, Chairman, thank you."

Dane also smiled.

"When you come back tomorrow, this place will definitely be completely transformed!"

"I'm looking forward to it. See you."

After bidding farewell to Dane Whitman, Oaks flew westward alone.

Flying over the Stonehenge, Oaks finally arrived at this "long-awaited meeting" place for the first time.

Entrance to Avalon

Although he had known about this location almost three years ago, Oaks was visiting here for the first time.

He had been to Avalon and received the inheritance, but he entered through the entrance in Alfheim.

Even when he came back last time, to avoid attracting Asgard's attention, he returned to Alfheim first, called for the Bifrost, and asked Heimdall to send him back to Earth.

He had always missed this entrance on Earth due to various reasons, but this time he finally had enough time.

"Dr. Garrett's castle isn't very far from here."

In the southwest of England, Somerset County, Glastonbury Abbey, one of the most important abbeys in England, with a history dating back to the first century AD.

According to legend, this was Avalon, the burial place of King Arthur.

But Oaks knew that this was not the final resting place of Arthur.

The entrance to Avalon was located southwest of the abbey, in an inconspicuous spot.

Unlike the entrance in Alfheim, which remained in its natural state, the Earth's entrance had been magically altered by ancient Druid priests.

Thus, ordinary people were completely unable to find it.

That was also the reason why this abbey, which served as a tourist attraction, had always had a "legendary" connection to Avalon.

Although the Ancient One could roughly sense the magical fluctuations here, when it came to the correct method of entry, probably only Oaks, who had received the Druid inheritance, knew.

There were still some tourists at this time, so Oaks approached stealthily in his leopard form.

As magic brushed the target location, after a brief surge of long-lost magical energy, the scenery in front of Oaks suddenly changed—

Misty marshes and forests. He had once again entered the intertwined realm of life and death, Avalon.

But unlike the last time he came, there were no hidden constructs here.

Soon, Oaks arrived at the central plain and saw the rejuvenated Sacred Oak.

However, now there were no ancient souls inhabiting it, and the Sacred Oak could no longer respond to the outside world.

Silently mourning for the predecessors, Oaks placed his hand on the rough trunk of the Sacred Oak and infused it with Nature magic.

Strictly speaking, although Avalon could be considered an independent closed ecological system, it was not suitable for human habitation.

Finding a suitable planet for humans to live on outside of Earth was much easier than finding an environment like Avalon.

The energy exchange here between the three realms is unique in Oaks' knowledge.

It could be said that it was affiliated with three spatial dimensions, with an extremely complex environmental nature and an extremely simple biological composition.

But this unique state had one unparalleled advantage—

It could adapt to any form of natural environment on a planet.

"This is simply the best Wi-Fi signal base station... with signals spread throughout the entire universe!"
