Capítulo 124: Chapter 123

"Everybody inside, now!"

Robin shouted to the curious civilians who had just exited a bar facing the chaos.

But it took the group of people a moment to respond because they were clearly drunk.

Then one of the nearby vampires jumped at them to knock a woman to the ground and bite her neck.

"HAAAAAAA!"

After witnessing this scene, the people snapped to attention and ran inside the bar.

"BANG"

Robin fired his Grapple Gun at the vampire.

It caught on her leg, and Robin pulled her off of the woman, who was desperately trying to stop the bleeding.

The vampire transformed into a wolf to escape, then attacked Robin.

When Aqualad saw this, he controlled a puddle on the ground and turned it into an icicle that cut off the vampire's head easily.

"Are you okay?"

Aqualad asked while approaching.

Meanwhile, Aqualad still didn't like or think it was right to kill them, but he knew that in this case, it was okay and maybe even necessary.

"This is madness. How did things get so bad in just one minute?"

Aqualad asked with a hint of panic in his voice while looking around.

There was an explosion in a commercial building in one of the city's busiest areas as soon as some of them went inside.

Fortunately, Zatanna and Raven were quick to save everyone.

It got out of hand after that.

Vampires started coming out of every dark alley and corner outside the building that was now on fire.

The vampires spread out and started hitting anyone in their way instead of focusing on them.

"We underestimated once again the..."

"Watch out!"

Robin pushed Aqualad to the side and grabbed a small silver baton from his belt that expanded just in time for him to hit a vampire about to bite Aqualad in the jaw.

"BOOOOM!"

The vampire slammed into a motorcycle parked on the sidewalk in front of the bar while knocking it over.

The vampire was getting up when an arrow from above hit the vampire in the heart and killed it.

"How long are you two going to keep talking? Batman needs reinforcements up ahead!"

Speedy shouted from the rooftop of a two-story store.

"We're on our way!"

The two on the ground replied and ran in Batman's direction.

"She's certainly taking her time."

When Speedy saw them moving on the ground, he looked up.

Zatanna was floating above everything, with her legs crossed in a lotus position, while getting ready for her next magic trick.

...

On the other side of the street, Batman is fighting another group of vampires.

He doesn't usually fight in the middle of the street, but there are times to fight directly and times to disappear, and this is not one of those times.

"HAAAAAAAAAAAAA!"

The vampire screamed in pain when Batman grabbed it and broke his arm.

He then threw him to the ground and hit him on the head with an elbow to end the fight.

However, Batman didn't have time to celebrate or catch his breath.

Soon after, two more vampires were running and were almost coming up to the people who were running away.

He stepped in front of them and dove to avoid the first one's claws.

Then Batman hit him with a hook and grabbed his hair, pulling him in front of him so that the other vampire couldn't attack either.

He pulled his arm down hard on the vampire he was holding while tearing his clothes at shoulder height, but the vampire didn't scream or struggle.

Batman smashed his jaw with his open palm, dislocating it, and flung him over his shoulder despite the pain.

The vampire who couldn't attack with his companion in front of him now saw Batman's back and jumped at his neck.

Batman didn't even look at him; he simply threw a small ball over his shoulder that entered the vampire's mouth and exploded.

The vampire choked and began to cough and cry in desperation, with red smoke coming out of his mouth.

It was a pepper ball similar to the sprays used by the police.

Batman stood up while ignoring the two vampires on the ground and touched his communicator.

"Report."

He wanted to talk to the second team, but there had been no new information since they reached their destination.

He decided that since he wasn't getting any answers, the only thing he could do was ask the League for help, even though he didn't want to.

He hoped someone could check on what was happening with the second team. He turned his attention back to the street he was on after that.

The street was now in flames, with several businesses around it having been destroyed.

The good news is that almost no one is running away from the vampires anymore because they were all smart enough to hide in nearby buildings.

Batman didn't choose to defend this street by chance.

First, he started by calculating the vampires' movement patterns, which follow a pattern he has analyzed.

After this calculation, he figured out that a big group of vampires would have to gather here at some point.

That's what's happening now.

He saw red eyes in the dark appear on the other side of the street.

There were bats flying in the air, wolves coming from the alleys, and people jumping out of the buildings around him onto the stopped cars on the road.

After a few seconds, there were more than a hundred vampires on the other side of the street.

They were all looking at Batman, who was standing between them and the many people they were hunting.

"Woo-Woo!"

"Woo-Woo!"

"Woo-Woo!"

Finally, the police sirens can be heard, and four patrol cars make it through the crowd and stop just behind him.

A man in a thick overcoat and glasses stepped out from one of the four vehicles.

Commissioner Gordon.

"I want a perimeter here, and where the hell is the S.W.A.T team?"

Jimmy asked.

"They are running late, sir."

One of the cops replied, coming from the car next to him.

"Of course it is!"

The vampires stopped momentarily and looked at them because they felt like something was between them and their prey.

"You weren't kidding when you called for help."

Jimmy remarked and stood beside Batman.

"We have to hold them here."

Batman replied.

"We also need to help the people trapped in the buildings around here."

"No, she's taking care of that; our fight is here."

Jimmy didn't know who, but he trusted Batman enough to leave it to her.

"Then we're going to need more firepower and air support."

Jimmy said this while looking at his subordinates, who were pointing their guns at the vampires behind the cars that were placed sideways to create a perimeter.

"The reinforcements are arriving, and we have air support."

"Where?"

Jimmy asked and looked up.

A black plane appeared from the heavy, dark clouds above them.

It was a small jet, all black, with a design resembling a bat with its wings spread open—the Batwing, an aerial assault vehicle and transportation for Batman.

The Batwing started slowly falling toward the vampires on the other side of the street.

On the other side of the city, a butler was in charge of controlling it.

"Batman!"

Robin shouted from their side while jumping over a car. Finally, Robin arrived with Aqualad and Speedy.

"Get ready."

Batman told him and didn't even look at Robin.

"What the fuck is this situation!"

Speedy exclaimed after seeing the scene in front of him.

"Watch your language, kid."

Jimmy cautioned.

"Where's our heavy hitter?"

Robin asked Batman.

"Raven has her own mission, just us."

"Here they come!"

Aqualad shouted while grabbing his two weapons, which took the form of water swords.

The vampires finally lost patience or couldn't hold back their hunger and attacked with everything.

"Now!"

Batman ordered.

The Batwing stopped hovering ten meters above the ground, and Alfred pressed the button in a cave on the other side of the city.

"BLOOM!"

"BLOOM!"

"BLOOM!"

The Batwing's sides fired missiles at the road, which caused everything to explode.

A lot of the vampires were killed in the explosion, but some ran as fast as they could to the sides of the street and stayed inside the buildings, which were used by innocent people and weren't hit by the explosion.

"Jesus Christ!"

Jimmy managed to say this and looked at the sea of flames in front of him.

"Cease fire!"

Batman ordered him to stop the attack.

The Batwing then started to rise until it went back into the clouds. It would appear until it was needed again.

In the street, Batman's show of destructive power didn't scare the crazy, thirsty vampires enough for them to wake up.

Once the Batwing disappeared, they slowly moved back to the street while dodging the fires and cars that were on fire.

"How much time is left?"

Robin asked while holding his Collapsible Bo Staff.

"A few minutes,"

Batman replied and showed no sign of preparation.

The other two raised their weapons too.

"Commissioner, I'll leave anyone who gets past us for you to handle, but we must keep them here."

"I hate your plans, Batman, but I always follow them. Go, let's hold the line."

Jimmy assured himself while pulling his pistol from his waist.

Batman didn't give any more orders or talk to the others.

He just pulled out his Grappling Gun while aiming it at the building to his left and used it to get over the burning car in front of him.

Soon after, Speedy and Robin did the same thing.

Aqualad jumped over the fires and wrapped his body in water to protect himself from the heat.
