Chapter 13

There wasn't time for Dio to think as Batman quickly walked into the room wearing his suit and black cape.

However, the surprise followed right behind him.

The most beautiful woman he had ever seen in his two lifetimes entered with him, dressed in blue with red and gold armor, carrying a sword, shield, two bracelets, and a tiara.

She is clearly Wonder Woman.

Thankfully, Dio is still a child and not a teenager with a bunch of hormones, or he'd be drooling over her right now.

"I see you've awakened. Do you feel any discomfort?"

Batman asked with his rough voice.

"I feel better than ever. Could you please tell me what happened after I lost consciousness?"

Dio asked.

"After you lost consciousness, I neutralized the attacker, then the police arrived, arrested the attacker, and provided necessary assistance to the other children. Unfortunately, the attacker learned about you because of my mistake in returning what belonged to you."

Batman replied and looked at my chest.

Instinctively, Dio touched it and felt that there was something under his tattered hospital gown. He quickly pulled the necklace out from under his clothes.

It was the necklace that almost got him killed—the only thing his mom or dad left him.

Since he knew who his father was now, he didn't feel bad about the pain he had gone through to get that information.

The necklace's cord resembled silver; it clearly wasn't made of silver. It shone brighter than ordinary silver.

The pendant was black—a five-centimeter piece of uncut black mineral, cold to the touch.

It reminded him of the material from which Hades' throne was made.

"I analyzed the black metal and the pendant, but couldn't identify either of them."

This black metal clearly piqued Batman's interest.

"As for the pendant, I don't know, but the metal is from the underworld."

Batman stood behind Wonder Woman, and she spoke for the first time. She had been quiet since the beginning of the talk and had only smiled at him.

"It's not rare there at all, but what you're holding in your hands is one of the few pieces on Earth."

She explained.

Batman frowned, not out of anger but because Wonder Woman had told him these details without first revealing who he was.

They obviously already knew Dio was a demigod.

Otherwise, Batman wouldn't have called Wonder Woman—she's an expert when it comes to mythological monsters and gods.

"Diomedes, I'd like to talk to you about your father."

Batman calmly began.

"I already know,"

Dio interrupted him. There was no reason to keep his dream or vision a secret since they already knew who he was.

"You saw him, didn't you?"

Diana asked from behind me.

"Yes, I saw Hades and the underworld. He also called me his son."

He replied.

"I had a similar experience. Gods like to appear in the dreams of their children and be shown as loving parents."

She said that and looked at Batman.

"Let's continue the conversation after you change,"

Batman said, turning and leading Wonder Woman away with him.

Then Alfred entered the infirmary again with a set of clothes that he placed on my bed.

"I hope the style and size suit you, sir."

Alfred said that and left.

The second attempt to get up was more successful than the first, so Dio took the clothes left by the butler and headed to the bathroom.

He stopped moving and stared at the mirror as soon as he walked in.

Dio thought the only thing that had changed was his height and skin, but that was far from the truth.

Dio's chubby face had changed into that of a teenager, symmetrical and handsome. But his eyes were still dark, but now they held more depth, like a black hole.

The short hair was now straight and as white as snow. He hadn't seen Hades's hair because of his helmet, but he guessed his must be similar.

Dio changed into the clothes that were given to him and looked at himself in the mirror. They were a simple black shirt and denim shorts.

He moved slowly out of the bathroom as his body was still getting used to the rapid changes.

When Dio left the infirmary, Alfred stood at the door and waited for him.

"Follow me, sir,"

Alfred said politely and walked ahead to guide him.

Dio didn't know which part of the cave he was in, but they walked through a corridor of rough stone.

After a few turns left and right, they stopped in front of a door that automatically opened when they approached it.

Dio entered and found himself in a meeting room with only one table for eight.

Batman and Wonder Woman were sitting in two of the seats.

"Have a seat,"

Batman said it without any emotion.

Dio sat down across from them and waited for them to speak first. In the silence, he could hear the door closing, leaving the butler outside.

"You've shown yourself to be quite mature and level-headed, given your age, Diomedes. That's why I'll address you as such. You need to be trained."

Batman said that and looked at me.

"Do you want me to become a hero?"

Dio asked, a bit excited.

"If you choose to become one, I want you to be trained because your abilities seem to be more than just physical, unlike Wonder Woman's. You need to be trained so you won't pose a danger to yourself and those around you."

Batman added.

"Batman told me about your encounter when you were asleep. You have understanding and the willpower to do what you did. So, after you experience training, if you decide to become a hero, it seems like a good idea to me."

Wonder Woman shared her opinion.

"You're going to train me?"

Dio asked her directly.

"Do you think there's anyone better for the job?"

She replied playfully.

She was right; not many people are capable of training a demigod, and the Amazons had trained her, making her one of the best fighters in the world.

Dio won't lie; he likes the idea of becoming a hero, and if she wants to help me with that, why not?

"So, how do we start?"

Dio asked with a smile.
