Capítulo 20: Conflicted Emotions

"Just one more cup, please," Kayla said with a pitiful expression that Leon couldn't resist.

"Okay, but this is the last pretty little thing" Leon said with a firm gaze.

"Yes!" Kayla said like a little girl who had her wish granted by her parent.

After another glass of red wine, Kayla began hallucinating and everything around her started to spin. She lost control of her body and fell on Leon's muscular body.

Looking at his face, she pinched his nose and giggled "Why are you this handsome" Kayla said unconsciously.

Hearing her Leon felt a strange emotion rush through every part of his body but he quickly hid it with his usual expressionless face.

All these were done under the watchful eyes of Lucas and Liam who both have shocked expressions.

"She needs some rest, you both can leave now," Leon said.

"Leave? But I just got here. I am not leaving" Lucas said.

"Suit yourself" Leon said as he carried Kayla in a bridal style taking her upstairs to her room.

***After they left the dining room***

"Woah! I never knew a mate could have this much effect on him. He looks completely different from the cold-hearted Leon I knew. This makes me want to find my mate soon" Lucas said as he looked at the door Leon left with an excited gaze.

"That's what you keep saying, prove it with your actions and not by your words only," Liam said as he slipped the wine into the glass.

"This time I am serious, I will find her by the end of this month no matter which hole she hides in," Lucas said with a firm gaze.

"And you, you are not serious about finding your mate either," Lucas said again.

"Nah, too busy right now. and a mate is found by chance not by going around looking around like a mad dog" Liam said with a teasing smile.

"What? That's it, give me back my wine" Lucas said with a pretend angry expression.

"Cone and get it" Liam said as he gulped all the content in his glass and took the last wine that wasn't opened.

"You bet," Lucas said as hair starts growing rapidly on him. His black eyes turn red. He instantly morphed into a brown wolf with red eyes while Liam transformed into a white won't with cyan colour eyes. Instantly they pounced on themselves and started fighting.

Leon gently laid Kayla on the luxurious bed, the softness of the sheets cradling her form. Her dark hair spilled over the pillow, and Leon couldn't help but notice the delicate features of her face. The room was dimly lit, casting a warm glow.

Leon who gently laid Kayla on the bed suddenly heard a loud crashing noise. He immediately rushed towards the direction of the noise which led to the dining room.

As he got there he opened the door and saw a white wolf on a brown wolf who was in a fighting posture. He instantly knew who they were.

"Are you guys kidding me?" Leon asked with an annoyed gaze directed at both of them. "The noise almost woke Kayla up"

"We were just having some fun," Lucas said.

"Idiot, you forgot he now has a mate," Liam said.

"Oh, how could I have forgotten," Lucas said. "We now have a new member" Lucas said with a mischievous smirk.

"But we were just having a friendly spar don't ruin the fun" Lucas who is still in his wolf form said.

"Fun? You mean how I beat you? If that is what you were talking about then it was fun" Liam said.

"That... I wasn't ready" Lucas said defending himself. "Let go another round," Lucas said again.

"That it, out!!!" Leon said pointing at the door.

"Come on Leon, don't be a fun killer" Liam said as he morphed back to his human form. His body bared showing his perfect well-built physique. He has a healing blessing from the main goddess as a gift.

The gift grants him the ability to heal twice as fast as Leon and other alpha's making him resilient and also healing people around him.

"True," Lucas said as he also transformed into his human form. Just like Liam, he also has well-defined muscles and abs. And like the rest, he also has a gift from the moon goddess. Possessing two unique gifts.

The first is that he can get a glimpse of the future and a charming face that can captivate the heart of any girl as if it were hypnosis. He can make any girl fall in love with him just by staring at her for a few seconds. He got gifts because both his mother and father are werewolves making him a pure breed while Leon and Liam were halfbreed.

"You heard me right, out!" Leon said with authority.

"Okay, we will go now" Liam said as they both left the dining room heading for their various rooms.

After they left, Leon felt weird. The anger he felt when he heard that loud noise that almost woke Kayla up subsided like a calm sea.

"What is wrong with me?" Leon asked himself inwardly.

Leon stood in the silent dining room, contemplating the unexpected emotions swirling within him. The tranquility of the moment was disrupted by the distant sounds of Lucas and Liam's banter fading away.

He walked back to Kayla's room, glancing at her peaceful form on the bed. As he watched her, a soft smile tugged at the corners of his usually expressionless face.

The bond with his mate was undeniably changing him, unraveling layers of the cold-hearted demeanor he was known for. Deep down, he acknowledged that Kayla had an inexplicable effect on him, softening the edges of his guarded soul.

"Can you really tame me?" Leon asked the sleeping Kayla who cuddled to the pillow like her lost lover.

With a sigh, Leon decided to embrace this change, knowing that the unexpected warmth he felt might be the key to unlocking a side of himself he had long died.
