Seeing how confident Lawrence was and how trusting he was to her, it made Emma feel a bit uncomfortable. 

Despite everything that had happened, this was technically the first time they had met. 

Yet Lawrence seemed to be very open and willing to discuss important incidents like this with her, going as far as placing his trust in her to investigate this matter. 

Was he not afraid of her double-crossing him?

Was he not afraid that she would actually keep the Soulweaver Leech for herself to manipulate others?

Just how could he be so trusting?

She would suspect that there was some foul play here, but his eyes and tone earlier were sincere. Having encountered and interacted with numerous types of people, she trusted her intuition a lot that his actions couldn't be faked.

Well, aside from those flirtatious moments. They were half sincere and half teasing.
