"I had a feeling you would come for me," Mei Xing said, her voice barely above a whisper.

Lu Aotian placed a kiss on her forehead. "Of course I would. You're my utmost priority," he said. "I'm getting you out of here."

"Not without a fight," they heard someone say.

Lu Aotian felt a gun press against the back of his head. Mei Xing's eyes widened with fear.

"Put your hands where I can see them and turn around," Jinhai ordered, his voice devoid of any emotion.

"No. You turn around," Chen Wei interjected, his gun held behind Jinhai's head just as he had Lu Aotian.

The noise soon fizzled out, and the remaining men standing pointed guns at each other, waiting for a single move to strike.

Lu Aotian turned, his emerald-green eyes meeting Jinhai's black ones. They stared each other down.

"Who are you?" Jinhai asked.

"You don't get to ask that. Who are you and what intentions do you have with her?" Lu Aotian asked.
