Leo Chuma (POV)
Never once in a million years had I foreseen or even expected that I would come across someone who was a complete replica of my deceased mother. And to make it worse, she was with that horrible man who had some resemblance to her as well.
Looking baffled at the pair as they played a chasing game around with their bare feet digging into the sand, for no reason, I felt my eyes tearing up.
I knew that the young woman couldn’t be her. Just like how it was also impossible for Alaine to be somehow related to my mother.
If he was my mother’s son, he wouldn’t have been too relaxed the way he was back then. They might have been relatives or something, but not mother and son.
Even though mother’s morals were corrupt, I don’t believe that she was the kind of person who could have birthed a child in her teens. She wasn’t that kind of person at all.
