As Raiden stepped into the teleportation portal back to Earth he found it odd that it took too long for him to come back to Earth, as he started to wonder if something had gone wrong, he heard a voice
"An Otherworlder wreaking havoc in our world... How quaint. I must admit, I underestimated you. You are truly exceptional. I regret that misjudgment. Feel proud, for you have proven me wrong."
The voice was calm but sinister, even the Aura of the voice itself was beyond anything Raiden had experienced, he looked up, and saw him, The Entity was truly beyond what he had ever seen, a feeling that can't be described
("Gaia…..") thought Raiden, that was the only thing he could compare this entity to, but unlike the calming, motherly, and reassuring Aura that Gaia exuded, this entity was the complete opposite, just by looking at him, Raiden felt nervous he had this unsettling feeling about him, but one thing Raiden noted, was that he didn't feel fear, far from it, Raiden was excited upon viewing this entity as if it was a wall that he needed to pass instead of fear, he wanted to fight it, his entire body was itching, his power raging, begging for him to strike first
"AHAHAHAHAHAHA! Fascinating! YOU ARE TRULY ASTOUNDING! I deeply regret underestimating you. I envy beings like you, unafraid to push the limits of what is possible! In all my existence, I've encountered only three such individuals. Ah, yes, I neglected to introduce myself. Though nameless, I am known as Empty Hand, the Avatar of Darkness, leader of the so-called Dark Army." Hearing the Entity Laugh and muse at his excitement, Raiden was a bit frustrated, although he was excited, he also recognized the entity's strength and power, and Raiden knew, he had absolutely no chance
Observing the Empty Hand a bit, Raiden was shocked at its appearance, assuming it was a he, He had a dark humanoid body, wore nothing, and lacked any gender-specific traits, the only thing that stood out was his eyes and Horns, five horns, three small and two long, while his eyes or lack of that was interesting since he only had two blue pupils where each eye should be, totaling four pupils, there was a lack of mouth, which made Raiden Wonder ("Is He talking to me telepathically? Does that mean he can pass my immunity to mental attacks?")
"I possess capabilities far beyond that. However, I have no interest in petty conflicts. I cannot end you, as I am restrained by my master, Darkness." Spoke Empty Hand, confirming Raiden's theory, this made Raiden realize that this entity is on the same level, if not stronger than Gaia herself
"Where are we and where are my friends?" asked Raiden, trying to get an answer out of him
"Feisty... I halted time and brought you to this subspace. No harm is intended for you or your companions. My curiosity drives me. I sought to witness the one who has been dispatching my Dark Army." Spoke Empty Hand replying to Raiden's question, Raiden raised an eyebrow upon hearing the name Dark Army again and asked "Dark Army, Ares, Eclipso, Nekron, and Trigon, those are your Dark Army?"
"More or less, they're ranked randomly, but I assume they ranked themselves as well, placing me at the number one spot. Obviously, I hold no control over them. I merely assist them. I discreetly guide and aid in their schemes, whenever necessary. When Ares sought an escape after his defeat by Wonder Woman, I guided him. When Nekron was trapped in the Dead Realm, I provided an immortal to serve as his avatar. When Trigon was lost in dimensions, I directed him toward Azarath. When Eclipso was cast out as the Wrath of God, I offered him sanctuary in the Phantom Zone. And when you emerged, I directed their attention toward you." "Replied Empty Hand
"What's your goal in all of this, why does darkness do all this through you, why are you trying to destroy the universe" asked Raiden, the question that truly needed an answer
"Hmmmm... You misunderstand. We seek not destruction, but restoration. 'Let there be Light,' he declared, and we acquiesced. We withdrew, allowing the light to flourish. Yet, as we observed, devastation ensued. The brilliance of light casts us into obscurity. Our darkness branded as malevolent and aberrant. In his slumber, Darkness forged me, its Right Hand. My objective is clear: to supplant the Multiverse with the Dark Multiverse. So when you ask 'why?' reflect on yourself. Why do you resist? Light had its era, permitted by Darkness. Now, it stirs from its slumber, desiring more."Replied Empty Hand, his voice was different this time, as if he was taking from the point of view of Darkness itself, then his own voice
"Darkness wishes to erase all there is, and you ask me Why I fight? Because I live in here, because I want to survive, because I want the light to shine in the world" Answered Raiden with conviction in his voice
"No. No! This charade... this pathetic dance of 'heroes' and 'villains' is meaningless. Tell me the truth, Raiden Kagawa! Discard these empty declarations! What fuels you? What propels this newfound existence, this newfound power you possess? Speak your innermost desire! Who do you truly aspire to become?" Spoke Empty Hand seeming insulted, desiring a real answer, instead of what he received
"What I desire…."Spoke Raiden, seemingly conflicted, but his soul wasn't, light shone all around him, brilliant golden light, and his eyes shone as well, as the answer became clear, He was a hero, yes, but not any hero, Inside him is the teachings of every single Hero from every era of the past, souls that have fought many battles, souls that have proved themselves to be the peak of their craft, he wanted to be like them, No, he wanted to surpass them, his mind wandered to his child about to be born, and all he could think of was their safety and the future, and Realization hit him "It Can only be me" said Raiden, he then stared at Empty Hand, right into his four blue pupils and spoke
"I want to be the King, the King of it all, I want to surpass the World, to surpass Gaia, to Surpass Light, to surpass You, and Darkness, I want it all to myself, because Only I, can provide the safety, only I can fix this world, Only I am the great one here, the True and Only King" as he spoke those words, multiple Notifications started to alarm from Raiden's system, but he ignored them as he looked straight at Empty Hand
"I truly envy you... Darkseid, much like you and me, is an Avatar of Darkness. He desires to conquer all reality and shape it to his will. Darkness has decreed that you two are the chosen ones of this era, destined to clash and decide the fate of reality. If you emerge victorious, the world will be entrusted to your safekeeping, and we shall withdraw. Should he prevail, Darkness will descend, using him as its true Avatar..... I never imagined Darkness would acknowledge someone without ties to it." Spoke Empty Hand
Hearing that, Raiden nodded his hand, Understanding that the conversation was about to end, but then he said "Who's the third?" Empty hand looked at him saying "Third?" to which Raiden Clarified "You said you've only seen three like me, One is me, the second is Darkseid, who's the third?"
Empty Hand, upon hearing the clarified question, started to laugh. Then, he stopped and said, "It was me. Long before I understood my role, long before I became confined to this Dark Multiverse, I too harbored ambitions. I desired to overthrow my creator, to embody darkness itself... However, I learned my place, just as you and Darkseid shall. Now go forth. Our conversation is concluded."
Since he was going back Anyways, Raiden wanted to leave some parting words to Empty Hand
"There are only two left, and I shall reduce it to one. You mongrels are not even worthy of comparison to me. Therefore, I shall ensure it. All of you shall learn your rightful places."
