Nathan's POV

"Should I congratulate you, Nat... Oh no, our Targary?"

As the crowd dispersed from the hall, Sebastian caught up with my steps from behind and intercepted me.

"If you don't want to, you don't have to force yourself to utter such insincere congratulations."

I looked into Sebastian's eyes and could already guess that besides declaring war, Harrison Morris might have said something else to him – something about the truth of Elizabeth's death.

"I want to hear an accurate answer from you, Nathan!"

Sebastian's ice-blue eyes were bloodshot with anger as he grabbed my collar, fiercely demanding, "Tell me, did you kill Elizabeth?"

"Yes."

When I admitted it without hesitation, Sebastian abruptly raised his arm, swinging his fist towards my face.

I didn't dodge, but I watched as his fist stopped just an inch from my face.

"Why didn't you hit me?"

"Why did you do it?"

At that moment, Sebastian and I simultaneously voiced our questions, staring into each other's eyes.
