Kayla's POV
Listening to the hoarse tones emanating from George, who stood in the darkness like a bellows, I instinctively clenched my fists. However, Harrison's calm voice carried a powerful undertone.
"Everything I've done since your father's death has ends up to what it's like today."
George turned around, looking deeper into the dungeon with a tone full of regret. "We should have anticipated the outcome."
"It's too late for these words now, George."
Harrison frowned, seemingly losing his patience. "Say it, and quietly await the arrival of death. I swear, it will be the best fate you can hope for."
"Fine, my young Alpha."
As George's elderly voice fell, a series of long sighs echoed from the depths of the dark dungeon, as if countless barely surviving lives were hidden inside, invisible to onlookers.
"I will tell you what happened."
George lowered his head, the black hood covering his entire face, making him appear as terrifying as the Grim Reaper.
