Kayla's POV

"Mommy?"

I turned around abruptly, finding a pair of timid green eyes peeking through the crack of the hospital room door.

Tiny Daisy was hiding behind the door, looking anxiously at the situation outside, wearing a fearful expression on her face.

"Daisy!"

I immediately pushed open the room's door and scooped my daughter's small body into my arms, sensing that Daisy was trembling ever so slightly.

"Mommy, were you guys fighting?" Fear filled Daisy's once innocent eyes.

As soon as I crouched down, Daisy buried her head in my embrace.

I felt a sudden pang of regret. I had been so focused on stopping the fight between Harrison and Nathan that I hadn't noticed that our argument had already awakened my daughter, who had quietly opened the hospital room door.

"No, Daisy, we weren't fighting, sweetheart. We were just talking."

"But I saw Harrison pinning Nathan down and punching him! There was so much blood on Harrison's hand! Mommy, I'm really scared..."
