MC's POV
"Ugh! So many trees! When is this gonna end?" I complained to no one in particular while I walked through the forest holding my makeshift bow and arrow.
After leaving the spot where I first appeared, memories of the body I am currently inhabiting filled my brain.
And do you know what's funny?
The body I am currently inhabiting just so happens to have the same name and appearance as me. However, he is about three years younger than I was and his life in this world is so much different from mine. For example, he makes bows and arrows for a living so that when the time comes, Vikings can defend this village using them. Since you never know what lurks in the forest at night, I gladly take advantage of this skill.
And as far as I can tell, I am in a time where the Original family had not yet turned into vampires. Henrik was eight so I still have a few years before he died.
By the way, my name is Cassius Nightshade. A nameless extra who probably became food for the Mikaelsons in the Canon story. And for my family, my dad died in a pillage while my mom died when she was giving birth to me. I also have a sister. Lorraine Nightshade. From my memories, she seems to be a loving and caring sister trying to fill up the parental figure gap I have.
And as for my plan involving the Originals. I've decided not to interfere in the birth of the Originals and let Henrik die.
Call me cold-hearted, but I want to experience the TVD universe for myself like in those fanfics people wrote about.
Owooooooooo!
The sound of a wolf howling brought me out of my thoughts as I nocked an arrow into my bow and got ready to shoot anything that moved. If it was any other day I would have shrugged it off but it was a bloody full moon tonight. Cursing my luck, I slowly walked towards the sound.
"Help!" A melodic voice pleaded.
Upon hearing the voice, I bolted towards them to save them.
You might be wondering right now? Why should I help them? I should just let them die and become wolf meat. Well, I might be cold-hearted, but I won't be that cold-hearted that I would refuse to help someone who needed it but if it gets bad I would leave them to fend for themselves.
Arriving right on time, I saw a grey wolf getting ready to pounce on a girl. Like muscle memory, I drew my bowstring smoothly and shot my arrow at my target.

Rebekah's POV
It was like any other day for my younger brother and I. It was the full moon tonight and my younger brother and I were begging our favorite older brother to take us to the beasts for what seemed like the tenth time this year.
"Nik! Nik! Can we pleassssse just go and see the wolves just this one time?" My brother, Henrik begged as he showed his puppy eyes to him.
"Yeah, Nik! Can we please go? We can sneak out after dark. Father would not find out about it I promised." I added.
Looking at our puppy-eyed faces, he sighed in defeat and relented.
"Alright, fine. But if I sense something amiss we are heading back."
"You're the best!" We both hugged him tightly.
"Meet me at our usual spot by nightfall. Don't be late." Nik said before walking off to do his own things.
[Present time]
This was supposed to be an exciting and wonderful adventure. Where did it all go wrong? The sight of my brother lying on the ground with a deep gash on his head and Henrik, who was crying at Nik's side, filled me with dread.
"Henrik, stay behind me." I put my body in front of Nik and Henrik trying to protect them from the wolf circling us like a predator ready to pounce on its prey.
Grr!
The wolf growled as it bent its foreleg down, getting ready to pounce on us.
"Help! Anyone, Help!" I cried, praying to Odin for a savior to save my brothers and me.
Seeing that no hero was there to save us, I began to sob uncontrollably as tears began to accumulate in my eyes.
However just as death was approaching us, a whizzing arrow passed by us, piercing the wolf's eyes in midair and instantly killing it.
MC's POV
After shooting my arrow I jogged toward the group of three. Offering my hand to the only one of them who was still conscious, I pulled her up on her feet.
Wiping away tears from her cheeks, she bowed her head and thanked me.
"My name is Rebekah Mikaelson. Thank you for saving my brothers and me. We are forever in your debt."
Seeing that she was about to kneel down on the floor and bow to me I immediately stopped her and said,
"You don't need to bow. I was just glad I could help. My name is Cassius–" As I held her up, I was stunned at how beautiful she looked.
"Beautiful..." I muttered as I gazed at the woman in front of me.
Even though I knew the actress who played Rebekah Mikaelson was beautiful, standing face-to-face with her, I realized that Rebekah Mikaelson was absolutely stunning. With her blonde hair tied up in braids, the woman's face had this youthful innocence to it that would make anyone that looked at her have an urge to protect her.
She was the most beautiful woman I've seen in my life. I must have lost myself in those blue eyes for a few seconds because her question brought me back to reality.
"I am sorry, are you alright?"
Before I could react I blurted out,
"You are the most beautiful woman I've ever seen."
Upon hearing what I said I slapped myself internally as my cheeks turned red in embarrassment.
"Thank you." She said softly as her ears turned pink.
Cough! Cough!
A man who was lying down on the ground started coughing profusely, interrupting the awkward tension in the air.
Thank God! The awkwardness is killing me. While thinking, I walked over to check on him and the other boy.
"Oh my God! Nik! Are you alright?" Her face twisted in concern and she was on the verge of tears yet again.
"Argh! My head is splitting. What happened?" He held his wound in pain and asked.
"I'm sorry. I'm so sorry. Because of me, you got hurt! And we almost died! I should never have begged you to bring us to see the wolves." She apologized profusely, now sobbing as she hugged her brother like there was no tomorrow.
I moved on to check on the other brother and let them have their brother-sister moment. After checking on Henrik, I found out that he just fainted because of exhaustion and will be fine after some rest.
...
"Are you alright?" Rebekah asked me as I had been carrying Henrik for quite some time now.
"Yeah, I'm fine. We're almost there anyway." I said pointing at the entrance of our village we were fast approaching.
As we reached the entrance, a middle-aged blonde woman came running out and shouted in concern.
"Oh my God! Henrik!" She put her hands over her mouth, fearing the worst.
"Don't worry Mrs Mikaelson. Henrik is just tired. That's all." I calmed her down.
"Hu..."
I saw her let out a sigh of relief.
"Thank the Gods. Where were the three of you last night, Niklaus? We couldn't find you last night." She turned to the three Mikaelsons and asked them.
"We were out Mother," Niklaus lowered his head and replied.
"When your mother asks you a question, answer clearly!" A loud voice boomed.
"Mikael..." Esther warned.
"So tell me! Where. Were. You?" He shouted at Niklaus while I just stood there awkwardly with Henrik in my arms.
"We ventured out to see the wolves, father," Niklaus said, quivering at the presence of Mikael.
"They are beasts during the full moon! You dare put your brother and sister in danger just because you're curious?!" He shouted as he started hitting him with his belt while Rebekah looked down guiltily.
Screw this shit.
I rolled my eyes and had had enough of this. Giving Henrik to Esther, I interfered with Mikael's whipping session.
"Hey! I shouted, getting his attention and stopping his whip from hitting Niklaus any further.
"This is my son! Who are you to stop me?" He demanded, glaring daggers at me.
Just as I was about to reply, someone called my name.
"Cassius! Cassius!" A familiar voice shouted. Running forward to hug me and ignoring the Mikaelsons, my sister showered me with kisses. Putting her arms on her hips, she chided.
"Where were you? I was worried sick. I thought you'd died."
"Haha...No, I–er got lost." I scratched my head, embarrassed, and smiled sheepishly.
She slapped my shoulder and then hugged me again.
"Ouch!" I held my head and stared at her accusingly.
"Don't ever do that again. You're the only family I have left."
Meanwhile, the others were smiling at how close we were while Mikael just looked annoyed and disgusted by the affection my sister is giving me.
After that everyone just got back to what they were doing.
Mikael stormed off, Esther tended to the sleeping Henrik and Rebekah returned to help with the cooking while my sister and I headed home. Before following my sister back to our hut, I turned to Rebekah and waved which she reciprocated with a dazzling smile.
