In Floyd's team, a significant transformation was occurring among his Pokémon. The Goomys, in particular, were showing remarkable changes. The label 'Hisuian' now solely defined them, as the percentage indicators in their names had vanished, signifying their complete adaptation to the Hisuian form.
The leader Goomy, however, still displayed a 98% completion, suggesting that in just a few more days, it too would fully embrace its Hisuian identity.
Unlike the Goomys, whose Hisuian traits solidified, Growlithe's Hisuian characteristics were gradually fading. Once the percentage next to its name reached zero, its Hisuian form would entirely disappear.
Dratini's improvement is obvious to everyone, except for Gyarados and Fraxure. He has surpassed all his siblings. While Horsea wasn't his main focus in training, she still managed to improve by one level.
The group of four Goomys had also shown significant progress, stepping into the pro level. The youngest among them had even outperformed the others, second only to the leader. This left Floyd in a dilemma about potentially adding it to his echelon, as it would mean having two Goomys, which might lead to overlaps and conflicts within his team.
Without a cheat, he wouldn't mind having duplicates, but now he has many options. Floyd pondered whether he should find a deserving trainer for this Goomy or train it by himself.
However, Floyd didn't dwell on this dilemma for too long. He shifted his focus back to the ongoing training session, which involved him throwing stones at his Pokémon.
After about 15 minutes, he changed the nature of the exercise. Now, it was Floyd himself who became the pursuer, adding an element of unpredictability and excitement to the training.
If his Pokémon were touched by him without using their moves or evading, they would lose points in this impromptu game.
Counting down from 10 seconds, Floyd watched as his Pokémon discreetly observed him, camouflaged among the trees or concealed in the tall grasses. His strategy was to identify the most vulnerable target and swiftly engage.
Moments later, he darted towards the right, where Growlithe was hiding. Alerted by the movement, Growlithe quickly maneuvered to evade Floyd's approach.
Unsuccessful.
As he reached out, Goomy reacted promptly, deploying its Water Gun to deflect Floyd's hand, narrowly avoiding being touched.
Again unsuccessful.
Floyd changed his approach, moving in a different direction. This time, he targeted another Goomy, which was caught off guard. The Goomy was slow to react and failed to prepare its move in time, resulting in Floyd successfully making contact.
"-1 for you, Goomy," Floyd announced with a chuckle as he swiftly changed directions. He executed a Dragon Claw move, and as anticipated, Dratini skillfully deployed its Protect move in defense.
This training session was designed with dual purposes: to enhance Floyd's own martial arts skills and to simultaneously improve the reaction abilities of his Pokémon.
Except for Fraxure and Gyarados, Dratini, Growlithe, and the others struggled a lot. After another intense 15 minutes, Floyd called a halt to the session. Both he and his Pokémon were showing signs of fatigue after the rigorous training. He then turned his attention to preparing their meals.
Floyd wandered over to where Munchlax was engrossed in using a berry blender, skillfully making pokeblocks. He stood quietly beside Munchlax, not wanting to disturb the Pokémon's concentration, and watched the careful preparation process.
After a few minutes, Munchlax successfully produced a Novice Grade Water-type pokeblock, a significant achievement for the Pokémon.
Munchlax hesitated for a moment, unsure, as he extracted one piece from the blender. His surprise was evident when Floyd's voice came from behind, offering congratulations. "Congratulations, Munchlax, you've made it!"
"Munchlax?" The Pokémon turned to Floyd, a look of disbelief and joy mixing on its face.
Floyd couldn't understand Munchlax's language, but the expression of confusion and then realization was clear. He nodded affirmatively and patted Munchlax's head, encouragingly saying, "Uhm, young lad, you've made it!"
"Munchlax!" Overwhelmed with excitement, Munchlax rushed towards Floyd for a hug. The sudden embrace caught Floyd off guard, and he found himself toppled to the ground under Munchlax's considerable weight.
"Cough! Easy there, easy there, you little guy," Floyd grunted, trying to regain his footing.
"Horsea~" Horsea also rushed over, saw Munchlax and Floyd, and tasted the Pokéblocks.
"Munchlax~" Munchlax moved back, embarrassed and apologetic.
"Horsea~" Horsea smiled, appreciating what Munchlax had made saying it was delicious.
"Munchlax!" Munchlax's eyes clouded with tears as he reflected on his past. More than a month ago, he was suffering under the cruelty of humanity, feeling life was meaningless and wanting to die. If not for Floyd's intervention, his fate would not have changed, and he would have died in that place. He was extremely grateful to Floyd.
This human was not only different but also kind to him, providing a lot of delicious food. Lost in these thoughts, Munchlax's body began to emit a soft, glowing light, capturing the attention of Floyd and the other Pokémon.
"Evolution? This is amazing!" Floyd exclaimed, his surprise giving way to excitement. He quickly grabbed his phone and began recording the momentous event, remembering Kanraku's advice to document any Pokémon evolution they witnessed.
As Munchlax began its transformation, it was enveloped in a radiant, shimmering light. The Pokémon's body underwent a remarkable change, expanding rapidly and growing larger, taking on the formidable and recognizable shape of a Snorlax. Its deep blue fur transitioned into a softer blue-grey hue, and the small cream patch on its chest expanded into the characteristic large, cream-colored belly of a Snorlax.
The facial features of Munchlax also transformed significantly. Its eyes grew larger and appeared more relaxed, and its small ears evolved into the floppy, larger ears of Snorlax. Its paws expanded, developing into the powerful, clawed limbs characteristic of its evolved form. As the glowing light subsided, the transformation was complete, revealing the newly evolved Snorlax standing before them.
"Snorlax!" the Pokémon bellowed joyously, acknowledging its new identity.
Floyd and the rest of his Pokémon team were astounded by the transformation. They all rushed towards Snorlax, who was examining his new form with a mix of curiosity and astonishment.
"Snorlax?" Snorlax leaned down to closely observe Floyd, who now seemed so much smaller in comparison.
"Snorlax!" it declared again, recognizing Floyd and excitedly moving to embrace him.
"Eh, wait!" Floyd, taken aback by the sudden approach of the much larger Snorlax, found himself momentarily pinned under its weight. "Munch-cough! No! I mean Snor- cough, big guy, get off me!" he managed to say, half-laughing and half-struggling.
"Snorlax~" Snorlax, realizing Floyd was struggling, quickly and apologetically moved away.
Dratini, watching this interaction, felt a surge of envy and determination. Seeing Snorlax evolve so rapidly made Dratini even more eager to transform into Dragonite. It resolved to intensify its training, rushing back to practice with a newfound sense of urgency.
"Horsea~" Horsea cheerfully approached Snorlax, settling on its shoulder and nuzzling affectionately.
"Snorlax!" Snorlax greeted Horsea warmly, clearly enjoying the attention.
"Goo~"*5
"ROAR!"
"Fraxure~"
"Awrr"
The other Pokémon, including the Goomys, Gyarados, Fraxure, and others, also gathered around to congratulate Snorlax. Each Pokémon, while happy for their companion, felt a sense of internal pressure and motivation.
Growlithe and the leader Goomy, in particular, felt an urgency to step up their training, realizing that their teammates were evolving and surpassing them rapidly.
Floyd watched this scene, a sense of pride and affection. Snorlax, still somewhat puzzled by its new form, looked back at Floyd with a confused but gentle expression.
"Do you remember me?" Floyd asked, smiling at Snorlax.
"Snorlax?"Snorlax tilted its head, seemingly pondering the question. "Snorlax!" and then nodded affirmatively.
"Snorlax!" Snorlax happily nodded and took it from Floyd's hand. He felt the berry blender was a bit small compared to before, but nonetheless, he started to take a berry and began making a Pokéblock.
"There's no change," Floyd nodded, sighing in relief. He knew that some Pokémon change their attitudes after evolving, but fortunately, Snorlax's attitude remained the same, except for his increased size.
Floyd approached him, "Try to practice another type of attribute. It should be easier now since you've already made a breakthrough. Just familiarize yourself with the feeling – I mean, use your feelings to make it. Once you can do that, start with a new attribute to familiarize yourself with. Do you understand?"
"Snorlax!" Snorlax nodded as he continued making Pokéblocks.
Floyd's Pokémon also started training, and Floyd took another berry blender. This one was different because it was made by Ryota. He needed to make more Pokéblocks.
And later, there was a meeting to be held later. This meeting was different because the village chief and his people were also going to appear.
