Capítulo 274: Chapter 273

Lin's Flyer saw a huge creature bursting out of the ground and biting the Dune Lizard as it was about to grab the Humerus Dragon.

It was a giant worm, and the giant worms had yet to disappear! They were probably more resistant to low-oxygen environments than arthropods. These worms looked very similar to the Mist Worm, both in their shells and mouths. Perhaps they should be classified as a type of giant worm. It was surprising that they could be found here as well.

The Dune Lizard struggled in the worm's mouth, but to no avail. It was slowly swallowed whole by the worm, and then the worm burrowed back into the ground.

The Humerus Dragon was saved again. It panted as it looked at the hole the worm burrowed into, then fell to the ground in exhaustion.

Black shadows hovered above the wasteland under the scorching sun. A large group of Scavenger Pterosaurs circled in the air, waiting for the creature to turn into a corpse.

The Giant Vein Dragonfly liked to do this too. It would circle above a creature that got lost in the desert and wait for it to die. These flying creatures of this size all had similar personalities...

After a dozen seconds, the Humerus Dragon struggled to get up. It crawled under the shadow of a rock and lay down to rest again. It was too tired, but before that, it had to remove some small barbed thorns stuck to its legs.

Lin called these thorns' Hook Blood Corpuscles'. They were the seeds of a plant. The plants here spread in a much more advanced way than the Twisted Trees. They would grow these seeds full of barbs to hook passing creatures. Usually, the barbs would pierce into the flesh of the creature, then feed on the creature's blood to grow and sprout. These were creatures slightly similar to plague fungi, but after they sprout, they would break off the creature's skin and fall to the ground.

Lin's Flyer also got some of the Hook Blood Corpuscles. However, the Flyer used a large number of small multicellular creatures to dissolve and devour them.

The Flyer didn't have to worry about these small creatures. It was a bigger one...

Slap!

The Flyer flapped its wings fiercely. She dodged a creature that was rushing towards her. This creature was called the 'Red Crown Pterosaur' by Lin. Just like its name, it had a red crown and a wingspan of two meters, almost twice the size of a flyer. More importantly, this creature could detect flyers in their color-changing state.

The Red Crown Pterosaur, which missed its target, abruptly stopped moving. It let out a loud cry, and five of its kind immediately flew down from the sky. They spread their wings and swooped down, opening their sharp mouths to pounce on the flyer.

Looks like the Flyer can't stay here quietly …

The Flyer flapped its four dragonfly-like wings and rushed toward the group of Pterosaurs. When it got close to the Pterosaurs, it suddenly turned sideways and passed between two Pterosaurs, flying high into the sky.

A few pterosaurs immediately turned around and chased after him. They seemed unwilling to give up. Under the scorching sun, they chased after the flyer.

The Flyer flew past a huge rock pillar on the plains, and a few Red Crowned Pterosaurs followed closely behind. However, the moment the Flyer flew onto the stone pillar, they all turned around and flew away in fright.

On the stone pillar. An even larger Pterosaur was resting there. Its wingspan was about seven meters wide. This kind of large Pterosaur could easily deter other Pterosaurs from approaching, but … it wasn't necessarily safe.

When the Flyer flew to its side, it suddenly turned its head and opened its sharp mouth to bite the Flyer. This Pterosaur was called the Bomb Pterosaur. It didn't have any teeth, but it kept squeezing the Flyer into its stomach.

Lin had the Flyer retract its wings and tail, shrinking its body into a ball. At the same time, a small barb extended from its skin. Lin used this barb to hook the Bomb Pterosaur's stomach. At the same time, the skin secreted a kind of mucus to prevent it from being dissolved by the stomach acid.

Then, the Flyer began to slowly decompose inside its body and began to transform into another type of Pterosaur.

Before it was swallowed, the Flyer released a small floating eyeball to observe the Pterosaur from outside.

The Bomb Pterosaur didn't notice the changes in its stomach at all. It slowly crawled on the stone pillar that was about ten meters in diameter. Pterosaurs usually crawled on all fours because their forelimbs were connected to a large wing membrane, so climbing up was quite slow.

The Bomb Pterosaur climbed on top of a unique spherical plant at the top of the stone pillar. It raised its head and poked the spherical plant with its long beak. The plant suddenly exploded with a bang. Countless tiny seeds sputtered out like an explosion. At the moment the plant exploded, the Pterosaur also spread its wings and rose into the sky with the help of the impact.

This was why it was called the Bomb Pterosaur. It liked to use these exploding plants to spread seeds. Although it could fly by itself, it saved a lot of effort.

After the Bomb Pterosaur circled around the stone pillar, it flapped its wings and flew into the distance of the desert.

Although the floating eyeball couldn't keep up with the Pterosaur's speed, it was already attached to the Pterosaur's head before it took flight. At the same time, the Flyer slowly began to transform inside the Pterosaur's body. During this time, Lin used the eyeball to observe this giant reptile world.

The Bomb Pterosaur flew under the scorching sun of the desert. This wasteland was full of vitality, completely different from the desert of the Twisted Jungle. Under the Pterosaur, a large group of dinosaurs called Geosaurus was running. They were being chased by two larger Carnosaurus. The slowest one was finally captured by the Carnosaurus, and under its miserable screams, its flesh was torn off piece by piece.

The Pterosaur flew over the heads of the two Carnosaurus and flew to another stone pillar covered with tall grass. Countless small Pterosaurs flew out of the grass in shock. There was also a huge plant full of sharp teeth that rushed out of the grass and almost bit the Bomb Pterosaur.

This place is really full of danger ….

The Pterosaur flew past the stone pillar. What appeared before it was a wide river that cut across the desert. The river water was very clear and flowed very slowly. It attracted many creatures to drink, and the Pterosaur was one of them. The Bomb Pterosaur flew to the side of the river, folded its wide wings, and drank the water in the lake.

Beside the Pterosaur, there was a group of large Carnosaurus called Carnosaurus that was drinking water. Lin realized that she could find the names of many dinosaurs in her mind, but some of them were given by Lin herself.

These large Carnosaurus that weighed more than three tons squeezed around the river, completely unaware of the huge shadow that was watching them from under the water.

Suddenly, a pair of jaws full of sharp teeth rushed out of the river. However, its target wasn't the Carnosaurus, but the Pterosaur in the river.

The Pterosaur reacted almost instantly. It spread its wings and took a few steps back to dodge the attack. Then, it flew up into the sky again ….

After leaving the river, the Pterosaur flew past the stone pillar, through the wilderness, and over a large group of Carnosaurus. Finally, when it was close to night, it landed on a large rock in the wilderness and was about to rest.

Then, it died.

The Pterosaur lay motionless on the rock. Its breathing stopped as well. It seemed to be dead, but in reality, its body was in a state of intense activity ….

This state lasted for a few thousand seconds. Suddenly, the Pterosaur moved again. A large number of serrated scales grew out of its wings and body. Its head was completely covered in a black shell. The Pterosaur had transformed into a creature beyond recognition.

It spread its wings and tried to flap them to fly, but its body tilted and it fell off the rock, landing on the sand below.

As expected, it couldn't fly in this state.

Lin had the Flyer dissolve the Pterosaur's internal structure and try to modify its body, such as growing scales or a shell on the surface of its body.

Pterosaurs were very common creatures in the sky of this continent. Their internal structure was very light. They were usually hollow skeletons, and their skin was very thin without scales. Therefore, Lin wanted to see what would happen if scales were added.

But it seemed like it couldn't fly.

Pterosaurs were very different from wyverns. Wyverns had air sacs in their bodies that could support a larger and heavier body.

However, the weaker Pterosaurs were everywhere, while wyverns were almost extinct. It was a strange feeling.

Lin Sanjiu decided to go back and take a look. She wondered how Skeleton was doing.

While the Flyer was riding on the Pterosaur, Lin's Flyer also ran into some trouble in the distant sea ….

Lin didn't count how many fungal islands there were. Perhaps there were more than a dozen islands. During this time, Lin's Flyers had arrived at quite a few islands and placed Bacteriophages on them, allowing them to slowly devour the fungi on the islands.

When Lin first started attacking the islands with the Bacteriophages, these fungi basically had no ability to resist and could only wait to be slowly devoured. However, after Lin started attacking a lot of islands recently, some of the fungi on these islands had learned how to fight back.

For example, this island.

Ten Flyers in the night sky discovered this circular island about thirty meters in diameter. The entire island was covered in mycelium, so Lin prepared to attack it.

The Flyers swooped down from the sky. Lin found that the entire island was covered in many large fluff ball-like structures. These structures would constantly expand when the Flyers approached, and then when they expanded to the limit … Boom!

A large number of broken spikes splashed out like raindrops. These spikes were made of stone, bone, wood, and various other things. Some of the Flyers were pierced by these spikes and fell from the sky.

But this was meaningless because it couldn't hurt the Bacteriophages inside the Flyers. The Bacteriophages could still crawl out of the Flyers and devour the fungi nearby.

However, this method of retaliation also proved one thing. Even without controlling the living creature, the fungi could still think and come up with a countermeasure. More importantly, it seemed that whenever Lin attacked an island, the fungi on the other islands would also know about it … What a joke.
