Capítulo 45: Blanc's Revenge
After hearing from Alex that the goblins were living underground, Blanc immediately thought of a demonic plan to wipe out the goblins.
He immediately started to make preparations for their revenge.
Blanc planned to personally lead the operation this time. He wants to see how the goblins will suffer because of their impudence.
A few hours later, all of their preparations were complete.
Blanc rallied a hundred-and-fifty-strong army composed of both swordsmen and archers.
"Onwards men! Towards the goblin settlement!"
Blanc, together with 150 men marched towards the goblin settlement.
A day and a half later, they finally reached the area.
After killing a few goblin sentries, Blanc ordered his men to split up and cover all the entrances.
A goblin which seemed to be the patriarch of the tribe smiled at them mockingly as if saying "We're deep inside our lair, what can you do to us? Your arrows won't reach us here!"
Blanc smiled back at the goblin patriarch and said
"Start the operation."
Swordsmen with huge tower shields immediately started to block the entrances.
The strength of the goblins is usually highlighted when they are attacking in large numbers. Physical strength is usually not one of their strong points.
With just their raw strength, it is impossible for them to break through the tower shields and open up the entrances.
Once the warriors holding tower shields successfully blocked all the entrances, some of the warriors started a fire right in front of the shieldbearers.
Soon, each entrance started producing smoke due to the fire.
The warriors immediately started fanning the smoke towards the goblins.
A little while later, the goblin patriarch started to notice that the smoke was getting thicker and thicker. He roared in rage as he realized that they had been outsmarted.
Blanc was very satisfied upon hearing the roar of anger from the goblin patriarch.
"Weren't you guys so cocky earlier? Where did all your composure go? Come on, just chill, and let's take it slow."
Although it cannot understand what Blanc is saying, it knows that the leader of the humans is mocking them.
It stomped its foot multiple times in rage before ordering the goblins to break through.
Blanc laughed in a mocking way seeing the pathetic state of the arrogant goblins.
The goblin patriarch's eyes were red due to anger as it frantically tried to break through the tower shields.
Unfortunately for them, a goblin's raw strength is no match for a human's raw strength. Not to mention, the warriors had been training for at least 14 hours a day while consuming body-strengthening pills.
The tower shields weren't even budging.
Time was running out for the goblins.
More and more of their brethren started to pass out due to the lack of oxygen.
Even the patriarch was barely hanging on out of hate and anger.
Alex and the other warriors glanced at their mayor who was chuckling in a sadistic manner and they couldn't help but see him in a new light.
Previously, they thought that their mayor was too kind which would probably result in some governing difficulties in the future.
Seeing this other side of him today strengthened their trust in him.
This is what a true ruler should be! Kind and caring to his subjects but ruthless towards his enemies.
A few more minutes passed and there was no sound coming from the side of the goblins. All of them seem to have passed out.
Blanc did not let his guard down though he continued smoking for a few more minutes just to be sure.
He didn't know that his thoroughness saved a few warrior's lives today.
The goblin patriarch together with a few of its close aides only pretended to have fainted.
After a few more minutes of smoking, all of them are now passed out for real.
The goblin patriarch was so angry because it was outsmarted by the human leader time and time again. It passed out with heavy resentment.
After confirming that all of the goblins were indeed passed out, Blanc ordered his men to tie them all high up in the trees where future goblins could see them.
Half an hour later, all the goblins were tied up including the patriarch.
The goblins soon started to wake up one by one. Upon realizing that they were tied up like hostages, they roared in rage while struggling to escape.
Unfortunately for them, they weren't strong enough.
Blanc gave the goblin patriarch a few slaps just to piss it off even more. He was seriously annoyed by the mocking laugh of this overgrown goblin earlier.
After seeing that all of the goblins were awake, Blanc ordered his men to cut moderately deep wounds around each goblin's body.
He will make them bleed and die slowly to atone for their impudence.
The goblins were tied up separately in their own different trees and the trees were located near the route that the gatherers go through daily.
The purpose of this is to warn other goblins to not fuck around this area in the future.
