46.34% Death Of The Villainess / Chapter 19: The Alpha's Mate | Pt.11

Capítulo 19: The Alpha's Mate | Pt.11

Everyone watched as Tora strode back into the room. Her gracefully bearings attracted everyone's attention. The long lashes that fluttered with every eye movement captured their hearts.

The young lady smiled gently towards her grandfather, giving him a bow and placing her hands in his. The gentle smile on that stiff General's face caused those who were watching to gasp in awe.

It said that the stern General, who didn't even spare a glance at his children, greatly treasured this granddaughter of his. The rumor seems to hold truth. Was everyone's thoughts as they stared.

The pleasant atmosphere was swiftly interrupted by the arrival of a frantic servant. The servant whispered something, causing the smiles on their faces to turn stoic. Although they both tried to act normal, everyone could tell that something was amiss.

All this was in the eyes of the Royals. These were people who loved being at the center of attention. If something was going on, they were the first that needed to know. Seeing the slightly stressful atmosphere around the two made them curious.

"What's the matter?" The Emperor inquired as he watched the servant flinch. Something interesting must have happened.

Tora watched the corner of the Emperor's lips twitch uncontrollably.

The servant shivered as he bowed down quickly. "The—the Colonel—I beg for forgiveness!" He pressed his forehead against the floor. The dramatic act told a story that greatly rattled the gossiper's hearts.

Something baaaaad~ was definitely happening right now. Thought everyone that was watching. Their eyes sharpened and their lips curled. They could practically smell the new drama that was brewing.

"Stop with the act and spill it!" The Emperor was getting impatient. He made his way to where they were.

"The Colonel—he's—Uh? He's um...missing!" The servant crawled towards Hallie, wrapping his hands around the hem of her dress. His eyes watering as he continued, "I beg the Miss for forgiveness! He went to rest and chased us all out of the room, but when we went to check on him, he had disappeared!"

"Disappeared? How can a grown gorilla disappear?" Robert snorted and kicked the hands holding his granddaughter's dress off. "Don't go touching as you please!"

The Emperor seemed intrigued by this situation. He subconsciously rubbed his lips as a slight grin appeared.

Tora felt it was a lot easier than she had thought. This situation was going according to her plans thanks to the fact that the Clarks were unable to attend the party, only the wedding ceremony.

"Come with me to check every room! If he's in one of them, I'll punish you for causing a useless disturbance!" Robert ordered the servant to lead the way as he followed.

"I shall also go look for my groom-to-be. Excuse me." Tora followed suit.

"I am curious. I shall also go." The Emperor announced his intentions and followed along quickly with the Empress. This action prompted a few of the nobles to follow as well.

Everyone else stayed put when it was announced that the live-stream recorder crew would follow. It was better to watch the drama far away than near the Royals.

Everyone's heart pounded with anticipation as each door was opened. One after another, yet there was no sign of Colonel Ethan Clark. That was until they arrived in the VIP area. The four rooms held only esteemed guests on the level of Royalties.

This was the first time anyone would truly see what the VIP rooms looked like, however, their attention was not on the rooms, but on a certain someone who was currently residing in there.

Everyone was having a blast guessing the next scenario in the comments. The people shown on the livestream, however, were sweating from stress.

The Empress gripped the Emperor's arm in an attempt to have him call off the search. Something about this incident was giving her the chills.

The sounds of doors being opened and slammed shut caught the attention of the two bickering adults in one of the rooms. The commotion made both John and Jack curious.

"What's with the commotion?" John stepped out of the waiting room only to be met by a group of people crowding the hallways of the VIP area.

The horrified look on the Empress's and Emperor's faces was captured by the live stream. Out of the four rooms, two that had been checked were empty, leaving only two left. The VIP room that contained the Moore's and the last room that held Major Gording.

"That...by chance, is the Colonel with you?" The Emperor's aide cleared his throat and asked cautiously. Everyone hoped that Ethan would be in the room with the Moores.

"The Colonel?" John thought it weird that they were asking such a question. "I hate to say it, but yes, the Colonel is in here."

A sigh of relief washed over everyone.

"Fortunately, I was quite worried, since an aide reported the Colonel as missing." The Emperor spoke with a lot more confidence than before. His gaze turned towards the aide as he signaled for someone to grab hold of the man. "You dare lie about such a thing! A problematic slave should be beaten to death!"

A slave huh?

The comments on the livestream were filled with outrage. Slavery was banned a millennia ago and is still banned currently. For the royals to have a slip of the tongue and call the workers "slaves" was gravely insulting to the mass population.

A loud chuckle broke through the tense atmosphere. Everyone's eyes were now on Liam as he waved lazily while holding in his laughter.

"What's so funny, Dr. Hills?"

"You've all forgotten that there is more than one Colonel in this place."

"Hmm, my Colonel is also here." The grin that spread across both the General's and his granddaughter's faces reinstated fear in the Royal's hearts. "The aide has yet to be proven of falsehood. Unhand him this instant." The overwhelming pressure released by the General had everyone shaking in fear.

"General!" Jack came rushing out of the room as soon as he felt the General's overbearing presence. He feared that the General had met with a problem that made him overexert himself.

"Colonel Mason." Robert decided to call out to Jack in a very formal tone. This prompted Jack to quickly take in the situation and act accordingly.

"Greetings, Your Majesty." He quickly gave a polite bow and made his way to the General. "Is there an issue, General?"

"It seems the other Colonel had gone missing. Search the last VIP room."

"Father— what do you mean by missing?"

"Just sit down and drink yourself to sleep." Robert pushed John back into his room and shut the door. It wouldn't be good for their plan to have John around.

The reason only Jack kept John accompanied in the waiting room, despite his hatred, was for the sole reason of keeping him in the dark about the upcoming drama. John was a skillful opportunist. This was why their family had no issue transitioning from military to business. It would be better for the plan if he was kept silenced in some room while it happened.

Robert assigned Jason to guard the door while they went after every one to the last room.

The door that was opened slightly by Jack was pushed closed again by the Empress. Her trembling hands gripped the handle tightly to keep it from opening. However much she hoped, the scent that had escaped through the tiny crack was enough for everyone to picture what had happened.

"Your Majesty, please take a step back for your safety. We need to confirm that there are no threats." Robert stepped forward and attempted to guide the Empress away from the door without touching her.

"I'm calling off the search!" Her trembling voice greatly contributed to the curiosity of the masses that were watching.

"That won't be possible. The only son of the Clarks is missing and could be endangered due to his rut, which takes priority over Your Majesty's orders."

"Is this how you treat your monarch's words!?" The Emperor became furious at the implications of what Robert had said.

"I wouldn't dare to." His grin greatly annoyed both of them. Although their body and mind were riddled with anger, they knew that they couldn't act as carelessly as they usually do. "Open the door."

The strong melded stench of youngsters in love attacked those that stood in the hallway. The groans and moans that escaped were captured clearly on the camera for everyone to see.

Tora felt a hand gently tugging for her to move further away from the crowd. Seeing the contorted expressions on Liam's face was enough for her to understand.

Her eyes glistened with glee as she watched the majority of the people falling to their knees and gaging. Tora felt lucky that she no longer was affected by such a thing. For the first time, she truly felt like she was no longer under the constraint of this world.

For some reason, I thought Liam would be unaffected by pheromones.

Noticing his attempt to cover his nose and mouth, Tora decided that it was best to just break his nose. Her fist was caught swiftly and she was pulled in for a hug.

"Why are you attacking me all of a sudden?"

"Better a broken nose than being able to smell that."

"Your thoughts give me the shivers. It's bearable, so I'll pass on the broken nose." Liam let go of Tora and they both continued their observation of the situation.

Like a talisman, all they needed to do was add a few extra strokes which attracted bad things instead. There was no need to inconvenience themselves by getting involved. More or less, this was what happened in the original novel.

Jack and a few other Beta's were the only ones not as badly affected as the rest. They were directed by the General to separate the scandalous couple from their act.

"Cover him up and drag him out of here! As for the Major...lock her up in the dungeon!"

"N—no! I beg of you, please!" The Empress suffered greatly from the strong pheromones released by an Alpha in a rut. Her eyes watered and she lost all control of normal body functions.

Her body quivering on the floor while drool continuously dripped from her lips was extremely unsightly. Her hands gripped the General's pants as she begged for mercy on behalf of Major Gording.

This sparked a heated discussion on the odd behaviors the Royals had towards a Major in the military.

"A Major of this rank dared to lie about their assigned secondary gender can not escape punishment. I beg for your understanding, Your Majesty." Robert gently knocked off the hands that gripped his clothes. "Take the Emperor and Empress back to their headquarters. Send for a physician as well."

Tora watched as Ethan, who was given a sedative, was dragged away. Freya, however, wasn't offered the luxury of a sedative. Her body semi-covered, was harshly dragged away by Jack. Tora felt her cheeks wet with tears. She bit her lips and closed her eyes, looking extremely pitiful in the eyes of those who were watching.

Don't laugh, Tora. Was all that she repeated in her head as her lips quivered, a smile nearly escaping her lips. She felt her nose burn from holding her breath in.

"I'll excuse myself."

"I'll see you tomorrow." Liam signaled for his aides to send Tora back. It was now his turn to play his cards.

His playful eyes changed into those of blank ones. Dr. Hills whom everyone knew was a stoic and authoritative person. A person who acts within reason, but is difficult to understand and control.

Liam instructed his men to place everyone under house arrest, this included the Royals as well as the Clarks who were nowhere to be seen.

Amongst the confusion of everyone, the only announcement they had was to wait until every party involved was clear of any sign of health issues.

Alpha's are separated by ranks. Ethan and Robert are examples of True Alphas born with the power to fully dominate everyone around them. The chances of such Alpha's are extremely rare, in which over millennia ago, they would have been considered pack leaders.

John is considered an Alpha born from a miracle of two Alpha's, which is also considered rare. Alphas would prefer to have an Omega as their childbearer because female Alphas have a difficult time getting pregnant. This grants Alpha's like John, a higher chance at having multiple Alpha offspring.

And then, there is the Emperor, who is a prime example of a low-born Alpha. They have a difficult time conceiving future Alpha offspring, leading to their more submissive nature towards other Alphas.

Liam watched quietly as Robert took charge of the operations. As expected, True Alphas are indeed born leaders.

The physicians worked hard at stabilizing the amount of pheromones spread in and out of the room. It was a requirement that only Betas were allowed to become physicians due to their general immunity towards intense situations such as this.

A little over an hour had passed since the discovery of the infidelity. The Emperor and Empress had fully regained their basic control. The recovery led to a slew of complaints and grievances raining down on both Liam and Robert.

"I order you to release the Major!" They were making demands that sounded ridiculous to everyone there.

"I believe that I have stated this before, but a person who breaks military laws is to be persecuted without question." The Emperor had long hated that smug smile that is synonymous with the Moores. He felt his head and cheeks heating up with intense anger.

"I AM YOUR LORD! MY WORDS ARE THE LAW!" The smile on Robert's face faltered. His eyes had darkened as he stood up straighter.

"It seems that my turning a blind eye all these years, has caused you to think so highly of yourself. Do I have to remind you of who gave your family the title of Royalty?"

"Ev—even so! I am now the ruler, you have to listen to my words!" The quiet sighs of the aides and military personnel filled the room.

"I believe that Your Majesty would rather prefer the death of a criminal instead of the wrath of my people."

"It's just this once! Please, just turn a blind eye to this!" The Empress begged, hoping that her pitifulness would grip the hearts of those in this room.

"If the situation were to have only a few eyes on it, the criminal can be pardoned per Your Majesty's orders. But all of this occurred under the watchful eyes of our citizens. If we pardon such an act, the majority will start to question the Royal's integrities."

The hopeful gaze slowly turned blank. The Emperor and Empress felt distressed when they realized that there was no solution.

"Unless..." Liam twirled the beautiful necklace in his hands as he watched the commotion with a wide grin on his lips. "The criminal was somehow Royalty. The story would then change, no?"

The Empress's eyes light up with hope once again. The Emperor, however, watched the second son of the Hills with caution. At least with the Moores, there was a code of conduct that they practiced which doesn't allow them to hurt a Royal. The Hills were unconstraint and only remained in their bubble. Their interactions with the Hills were so minimal that today was the first time they saw what the famed doctor looked like.

That Royal Purple suit really bothers me. The Emperor could do nothing but hold in his grievances while carefully assessing the option that Dr. Hills suggested.

"This necklace," Liam dangled the necklace in front of the Emperor and Empress. He had ordered his men to take this from Freya. "Only those with Royal blood are given such a thing as identification."

Accessories had become a thing of the past ever since the invasion that drove them off Earth. Although synthetic stones and gems were made occasionally, it was still not as valuable as the real ones. Because of the impractical and expensive nature of darning an accessory, no one had any reason to.

Everyone stared in awe at the beautifully hand-carved emerald in the pattern of the Royal Family's insignia. For a normal Major-ranked soldier to have this on her was impossible, unless she was a member of the Royal family.

"I confess! I confess, so please! Help my daughter!" The Empress scrambled towards Robert and Liam, falling on her knees and begging.

"The only princess that I'm aware of, is Princess Freya, who is currently bedridden from an illness."

"YES! YES! Major Gording is Princess Freya!"

"I suppose we have no choice but to help," Liam's voice laced with a hint of sarcasm. "Bring the Princess in for a health inspection. Also, prepare everyone for the trial that was issued for after the wedding."

They both felt their knees weakened from all the excitement, but before they could relax, the word "wedding" spooked them greatly.

"Wedding!? To still proceed with the weddi—!"

"The wedding between the two main characters of the scandal." Robert rolled his eyes as he adjusted his suit. "My granddaughter has suffered such a scandal because those two couldn't keep it in their pants."

"...."

"Count it as a blessing that you received such an outstanding son-in-law."

With that, Liam and Robert left the room to prepare for the trial. It was finally time to tackle the mystery of the events leading up to the tragedy during the enlistment test.

It was time to flip the world on its head.
