".." Jaylene then thought of his illness. It seemed like people who were sick didn't want to move.

"Are you feeling better from your cold and fever now?" Jaylene quickly asked with concern.

"Who said I have a cold and fever?" Joseph tried his best to hide his illness, but his constant coughing betrayed his secret.

"Gale Summer mentioned it in a text," Jaylene said, looking at him in his thick bathrobe, her brows slightly furrowed. "Maybe you should go back to bed. Leave these things here for now, and you can cook them once you feel better."

Joseph coughed a couple of times and looked down at the bags in Jaylene's hands. He saw ginger, millet, rice, two bags of isatis root, and some side dishes.

His hair was a bit messy, and he was leaning against the door frame, coughing continuously. He looked weak, and probably didn't even have the energy to cook porridge.
