After transferring flights, I sat on the plane for more than six hours before I finally returned to Bay City.

I thought something serious had happened, but it turned out that Joseph Thompson's adoptive father had returned. He was only staying in the southern region for three days and had heard about his marriage. He specifically requested to meet him and his new daughter-in-law.

By the time I returned to Bay City, it was a bit past seven in the evening. The long-haul flight coupled with altitude sickness made Jaylene feel particularly exhausted. As soon as she arrived home, she felt entirely devoid of energy, barely wanting to move from the sofa.

"You should go take a shower," Joseph came over and gently nudged her, "it'll make you feel better. Then, after eating something, you'll feel more energetic."

Since the flight required a transfer, she actually took two flights, both of which offered meals.
