"Other people? Who?" Olivia Sawyer said, wearing an innocent grin. "It can't be me, can it?"
"What if it is?"
"That would be ridiculous."
With one sentence, Olivia Sawyer shattered all of Jeremy Norman's illusions.
"When I pursued you initially, you never responded. You've always regarded me as a spare tire, a friend, even a sibling, never a normal girl. And now you say you like me..." Olivia snorted lightly, "Do you think I'd believe that?"
Jeremy Norman lowered his eyes and asked, "Why wouldn't you?"
"Even if I did believe…". Olivia paused, "Why should I accept it?"
"I'm doing fine now, I haven't planned on getting married or having children. If I want to date, I'll find a younger guy, I'm financially independent, I don't rely on anyone. Besides, apart from our initial feelings for each other, what else is there to reminisce about?"
