Capítulo 81: The true nature of vital point targeting

Ring! Ring!

"Hello who is it?" Bian asked in a sarcastic tone, he recognized the number that flooded his commlink while he was away from the alliance.

"Its lazy cat, can you believe those jerks left me. They said I wasn't serious enough about hunting super creatures, but I'm just trying to remind them of the dangers. How can they be so insensitive, to make matters worse, Queen vanished just like that.."

Lazy cat went on for minutes nearly driving Bian mad, he had enough time to leave the teleport station and head back home while listening to her incessant chanting.

The new neighborhood never ceased to amaze Bian. He had to quickly greet his sister, dad and pregnant mom before heading to his room.

'Doesn't she have any friends?'

This was the reason why he didn't call back his missed calls when he returned to the alliance. After nearly half an hour of ranting, she mentioned something that didn't concern herself but Bian.

"What about those punks who are making a fortune off your songs"

Raising a brow, Bian signaled for her to continue speaking.

"I think their names are Florence and Zack. They don't produce music but are remixing your songs, and to be frank… its actually good" The last part came out as a whisper.

"There is no problem there, I don't own the music industry after all" Bian said with a smile. Florence and Zack were two brothers who he had met on a ship and taught to reverb and mashup music, he was quite happy to learn that they were doing well.

'Must be my parents rubbing off on me' Bian thought with a shrug, he exchanged a few words with Lazy Cat before 'forcefully' bidding her farewell.

He messaged Manager Bo and his three shining stars, Bo Qitu, Hanfei Ming and Er Linger. After making sure everyone was alright he went through some of his missed calls.

"Professor Min Tai called me?" Bian said aloud in confusion, after graduating from the central alliance military academy he was placed in Daphne as an assistant crystallizer researcher. After the breakthrough in the defense systems of the crystallizers and the hijack of Daphne he had been on indefinite leave.

From time to time he would assist the saints hall in transcribing newly unearthed qi gongs or retranslating faulty copies of existing ones. From graduation till now this was the first time the professor had called him.

He called the professors number and after a few seconds of ringing, he picked up.

"Bian, it's been to long" Professor Min Tai said to the low key prodigy. He had invited Bian several times to study under him to which the latter refused but that didn't stop him from thinking of Bian as a sort of disciple of his.

"It really has professor Min, but I doubt you called, just me greet" Bian smiled and said, time was money and professor Min knew that all too well.

"Straight to the point as usual, somethings never do change." Professor Min said with a smile, Bian's attitude to maximize time wasn't common among the younger folks. Always in a hurry without ever rushing.

"We were going over some qi gongs which were banned and I discovered some peculiar effect of one which is similar to your condition. I believe the hyper geno art it was translated to is called vital point targeting"

Bian's pupil shrunk, he said in a quick tone; "What is the name of the qigong, and what exactly causes.."

Professor Min Tai cut him off, "Such information can only be said in person, come to the saints hall as soon as possible. The professor responsible for its translation won't stick around for too long."

Bian went to the saints hall as soon as possible, he had to abruptly leave his home to catch the quickest flight yet he missed it. He had to arrange for a private ship which took more time than necessary, displeasing Bian.

'Maybe I should buy a spaceship' Bian ruminated as he made his way to the saints hall, he was learning to cope with his flaw preventing it from being too much of a bother in everyday activities.

After several security checks which Bian found odd with his high level of clearance he met professor Min Tai along with a middle aged man wearing a lab coat.

The middle-aged scientist seemed to be in a hurry as he would constantly check the time on his device while his right leg had a mind of its own.

"Sorry for the delay, Professors." Bian said as they motioned for him to have a seat.

Prof. Johnson: "After days of meticulous examination and cross-referencing, I believe I've made a significant breakthrough. My name is professor Johnson"

Bian and Professor Johnson exchanged pleasantries, after they got settled, Bian Leaned forward with anticipation. "Please, do tell me more, from the beginning this time"

Professor Johnson raised a brow at professor Min, the latter who reacted with a shrug.

"I couldn't get a hold of him, best to start at the beginning"

Professor John frowned a little bit, but soon became neutral soon enough. 'As long as he can help me with the tablet.'

Professor Johnson did most of the speaking while professor Min Tai chipped in a little piece of knowledge here and there.

"It all started in a long forgotten era, during those times, there were several figures of power roaming about.

Some people worshipped a cat-fox like deity, others had the uncanny ability to predict the future. Then there was a nation which stood by itself, among the troubled time.

The nation was known for giving amnesty behind its walls and thus had to face countless assaults from each direction. The power of the nation was nothing to scoff at, but it was the emperor who protected the nation.

Tiankong de Yibufen was known as the most domineering leader the heavenly palace had ever seen. During his reign, he subjugated all the opponents of the palace.

A young man who had set out on a pilgrimage resided in the castle, this young man gleaned from the heavenly palace before moving on to several other prominent cities.

He crafted his very own art style different from all the other he had seen, after nearly a century of research. 'The three inner pillars' was his creation but he soon reached a block and couldn't progress any further."

"That is the danger of forming your own battle art. Although unique, it is a path no one has treaded before." Professor Min said with a heavy heart.

"This was all so enlightening, but how is it related to vital point targeting?" Bian had to ask. He knew a bit about this ancient era from the several scripts he had translated.

He knew that there was none like emperor Tiankong de Yibufen before and after him, which led to the fall of the heavenly palace with some remnants of the clan left here and there.

Likewise this was the era were the Xuan Men and Blood Legion reigned supreme in their respective domains but none of this had nothing to do with vital point targeting.

"Oh but you see, vital point targeting was gotten from the inner pillars." Professor Johnson brought out an old book written in the ancient language of the alliance.

Bian read the book titled the three inner pillars. According to the nameless author, a human being essentially had three pillars supporting their being. The body pillar, the soul pillar and the spirit pillar.

Once a person could improve this pillar, they could gain benefits which would take years to be gotten normally.

The first step was to focus on that which was on the outside, this was where vital point targeting was gotten from. The second step was to focus on the inside, which would be mental point targeting.

And finally the last step is to focus deep within oneself to find the inner pillars. Several years passed without the author taking this step, he would find himself dazed and unable to focus his very essence searching within him for the three inner pillars.

'So that's what is happening to me!' Bian practically screamed in his head. Thankfully the book contained insight on how to achieve this step. Bian had discovered the true nature of vital point targeting.

'Says here that to find the pillars, I need to use a method of thinking to visualize the three pillars. The more profound the image the higher the chances of me finding the pillars.'

"So you know as much as I do about the three inner pillars, but I'm afraid I do not know as much as you do." Professor Johnson said while resting his chin on his arms.

"What do you mean?"

"How were you able to advance a watered down version of the three inner pillars up to the stage of searching within for the inner pillars. What makes you different from the others who had come before you?"

Being stared at under professor John's gaze Bian did not falter. Instead, he looked him straight in the eye and replied with a shrug, "Beats me"

"Bian has been working with the saints hall for several years now... He is the fastest translator we have for the ancient language... and has decoded and improved several hyper geno arts... His value to the saints hall is immeasurable, he has no reason... to hide anything." Professor Min Tai said while slurping his hot coffee.

"I have nothing to hide in deed. In fact, I feel like I'm about to have a breakthrough thanks to some insight from the book" Bian humbly said.

Professor Johnson "..."

Professor Min Tai proceeds to spit out his coffee from his mouth.

"Impossible! It took the creator several decades to take that step... I think you should wait to gather more insight to formulate a good thesis on the three inner pillars."

"There is no need professor, I already have the perfect analogy in mind."

"Then if you wouldn't mind can we observe as you find the inner pillars?" Professor Johnson asked.

"Of course I wouldn't mind" Bian said then immediately closed his eyes. He had to make use of the analogy while he had the feeling of enlightenment on his body. Mental point targeting couldn't recreate moments of enlightenment like right now, and he had a pretty decent analogy in mind.
