Capítulo 179: Mother and Son (II)

Arkhan actually understood Scathach's thoughts very well.

The destruction of Britain was inevitable, a direction dictated by history.

The 'curse' of Harlan's family revealed that some people of Britain were already considered part of the Age of Gods, meaning they were fated to face elimination.

But for Arkhan, this wasn't much of a concern. With the Divine Keys he possessed, not even the Counter Force could pose a threat.

"Don't worry, Mother. Even if that day comes, I'll be safe and sound."

"Arkhan, this is no joke. The power of the Counter Force is far more terrifying than you can imagine."

Scathach frowned slightly. As the Queen of the Land of Shadows, she was well aware of the formidable might of the Counter Force. They were so powerful that practically anything that belonged to this planet couldn't overcome them.

If it weren't for this, she wouldn't have entertained the idea of having Arkhan hide in the Land of Shadows for a lifetime.

"I'm not joking, Mother."

Arkhan got up, sat beside Scathach, then took off the golden necklace around his neck, waving it in front of her.

"What's this?"

Scathach took it, puzzled. Suddenly, a strong shock flashed in her crimson eyes.

The presence of Counter Force disappeared!

Scathach keenly felt that the golden necklace emitted an unusual fluctuation. It not only instantly severed her connection to the Land of Shadows but also blocked the overpowering presence of the Counter Force that had always haunted her from all around.

Although her strength was significantly weakened in this state, she was free from the influence of the Counter Force.

Where did her son get such a thing?

"As for the origin of this thing, I'm not ready to explain it yet. In short, you can understand it as something that doesn't belong to this world. I also have a few more like this one, so even if Britain is destroyed in the future, it won't affect me." Arkhan smiled calmly.

Scathach played with the golden necklace in her hands with a thoughtful look in her eyes.

"Including the spear you used to heal Cu Chulainn just now, is it also the same thing as this one?"

"Yup." Arkhan nodded.

"I see..."

Scathach sighed in relief, a bewitching smile appearing on her exquisite face. She raised her hands and stretched in a big yawn, showcasing her beautiful figure.

"Haven't seen you in so long, tell me about your experiences outside." Scathach said calmly while her crimson eyes scanned her son. "I have a feeling you've been through some very unbelievable things."

Arkhan considered his words for a moment, then proceeded to narrate his experiences since leaving the Land of Shadows. Except for the System, he held nothing back.

Scathach hugged her bent left leg, her face against her knee, listening attentively to her son's tale like a little girl hearing bedtime stories.

It wasn't until half an hour later that Arkhan finally finished his narrative.

"So that's how it is... You got married without me knowing, and on top of that, you have a daughter now." Scathach said with a flat tone.

"Wait a minute... Why are you focusing on that? Normally, shouldn't the main point be me becoming the King of Camelot or Vortigern getting the Holy Grail to resurrect the gods? Why is the first thing you mention about my personal life?" Arkhan's mouth twitched slightly.

"Of course, because I'm your mother. Naturally, I would only care about your affairs. The rest has nothing to do with me." Scathach replied casually.

"Well, that makes sense... No, wait a second! That's not the point!"

"I've decided." Scathach stood up. "I'm going out with you."

"What...? Why?"

Arkhan asked in a confused tone, his expression dumbfounded. However, a delicate hand suddenly rested on his ear, making a sharp ninety-degree turn without mercy.

"Ouch! It hurt, Mother!"

"You have the nerve to ask me why?" Scathach gritted her teeth. "Arkhan, don't forget, I'm your mother! Have you ever seen a mother who knows nothing about her child getting married and having children?!"

"I... I..." Arkhan glanced around and finally sighed. "I'm sorry, Mother. It's all my fault."

"Now that it's already happened, I don't feel like pursuing it any further." Scathach let go of his ear, crossed her arms, and snorted. "But anyway, I have to personally find out what's going on. It's my basic duty as a mother, understand?"

"Yes, I understand." Arkhan nodded obediently.

"Besides, didn't you say you have to defeat that white dragon who carries the Holy Grail? Since you've made up your mind, as a mother, I have to offer you some support." Scathach continued.

"...Are you going out just for the sake of having a good fight?"

"...Are you questioning your mother?"

"Ahem! That's not what I meant..." Arkhan coughed lightly. "But leaving the Land of Shadows, your strength should be greatly weakened, no?"

"...I never expected that one day my strength would be questioned by someone else." Scathach showed a little friendly smile and raised Gungnir in her hand. "It seems that after not seeing your mother for a while, you get arrogant and quite confident in your strength? Since that's the case, how about we spar a bit? I promise to only use my spearmanship."

Recalling the scene earlier when his mother threw Gungnir, which seemed to pierce through the entire world, Arkhan decisively shook his head.

"Sorry, I spoke carelessly."

"Hmph, that's about right." Scathach snorted and put down Gungnir in her hand.

Arkhan glanced with confusion at the transformed spear, or rather, the Divine Construct that truly displayed its power.

"By the way, Mother, how did you know about this spear being in my hands?"

"Of course, it's because of the Wisdom of Dun Scaith." Scathach replied while pointing to her eyes. "Odin anticipated this scene thousands of years ago, so he left Gungnir for me, hoping I would solve Loki with it. The Rune letters on this spear represent me in the first sentence and Loki in the last sentence. As a reward, he left Sleipnir for you and Gungnir for me."

Arkhan nodded thoughtfully. No wonder Gungnir, once in her hands, immediately showed its original power. It turned out that Odin had already set up the game.

In fact, even if she didn't intervene, Arkhan alone would have been enough to get rid of Loki.

But with Odin's foresight abilities, it's probably impossible to predict the existence of the Divine Keys, a power not belonging to this world.
