Rhodes understood that Hela couldn't bear the destruction of all Earth's inhabitants.
He clenched his fists, and his knuckles made contact. Suddenly, Rhodes emitted powerful time-based energy fluctuations, causing the surrounding space to distort slightly. He harnessed the time-altering abilities within himself to rewind time to before Earth's destruction.
Rhodes' control over time was immense, and it had no adverse effects on his body.
Under his guidance, Earth, recently ravaged by the falling floating island, rapidly restored itself, with cities destroyed by towering tsunamis retreating.
As the tsunamis subsided, tall buildings, once toppled, rose again, and those who had perished returned to life as the timeline rewound. Due to the time reversal, these individuals had no recollection of Earth's prior destruction; their lives and times were reset.
Viewed from outer space, the cracked ground and spewing magma seemed to reverse like a movie being rewound, returning to their state before Sokovia's floating island fell.
Sokovia, suspended by Ultron's anti-gravity device, continued to rise slowly, while the Avengers superheroes battled against Ultron's mechanical forces. However, they were still at a disadvantage.
Although Rhodes had the power to reverse time without limitations, he couldn't change the established fact that the situation had progressed to this point. Regardless of how many times he rewound time, the Avengers superheroes were still unable to prevent the fall of Sokovia's floating island.
However, if Rhodes were to personally participate, the outcome could change.
During these events, Yao watched Rhodes' actions from the sidelines. While Yao possessed the power to manipulate time and space and alter the outcome caused by the Ultron Legion, she believed that Rhodes handled the situation more subtly.
Rhodes returned to the villa he had created, accompanied by Hela. He had initially hesitated to intervene, assuming that Yao would take action. However, since Yao could not, Rhodes decided to take matters into his own hands.
Rhodes teleported to Sokovia alongside Hela, ensuring their safety with a combination of time and space-based defenses.
The Avengers superheroes were still struggling to contend with the Ultron Legion, with the battle unfolding much as it had previously. They remained unable to counter the powerful oppression from Ultron.
Ultron, in particular, elevated the floating island of Sokovia to its maximum height using the gravity device, then began to descend.
Iron Man employed his armored suit to resist Sokovia's immense weight, but was unable to halt its descent. The situation appeared as dire as it had been before.
As the floating island of Sokovia drew perilously close to the ground, a sense of despair engulfed the Avengers superheroes. The consequences of the island crashing into the planet were dire.
However, suddenly and without warning, the falling Sokovia came to an abrupt halt.
It stopped in mid-air.
In the midst of the distressing descent, the Avengers superheroes and Tony were still plummeting. Once Sokovia halted, Tony managed to regain his composure and control his balance by using his suit's propulsion systems.
Sokovia had come to a complete standstill, hanging in the air.
This unexpected development left both heroes and supervillain confounded.
At this point, Rhodes teleported beside the superheroes.
"It looks like you could use a hand."
The reversal of events by Rhodes led to the restoration of hope. They believed they were on the brink of witnessing Earth's destruction, but Rhodes had a different plan in mind.
Rhodes returned the floating island to its initial position, where it hovered under Ultron's anti-gravity control. The superheroes continued to grapple with the Ultron Legion, but this time they weren't left in despair.
Ultron, now in the hands of Rhodes, had no chance to resist his powers. Rhodes restrained Ultron effortlessly, making it appear as though he was lifting a sack.
The superheroes, who had just been near the brink of destruction, were revived, and they looked at Rhodes in amazement.
Rhodes addressed Ultron mockingly, "Is your anti-gravity device broken? Do you need help repairing it?"
Ultron's rage boiled over. He ordered the Ultron Legion to attack Rhodes.
The heroes were prepared to battle, but Rhodes waved them off.
"All right, cease the hostilities. You must be tired of fighting, and I'm tired of watching."
Confused, the heroes questioned Rhodes. They didn't understand what he was up to.
Rhodes extended his hand, and a faint golden ripple spread outward.
Before anyone could react, the vast Ultron Legion robots, which had recently surrounded them, disintegrated into fine particles and vanished.
Tony commented sarcastically, "Rhodey, are you showing us fireworks?"
However, before Tony could complete his statement, the entire tide of Ultron Legion robots surrounding them evaporated into nothingness.
The superheroes were left in awe, astounded by Rhodes's swift action. They had fought valiantly without the aid of Thor, Scarlet Witch, Quicksilver, and Vision, and Rhodes had turned the tide with a flick of his finger.
Rhodes grabbed Ultron's body, and despite Ultron's struggles, he couldn't resist.
Ultron quipped, "Let me go!!! You, a mere human, dare to challenge me?"
