Capítulo 39: The other end of the long corridor

With the wooden box in his hands, he looked up at his wife and asked, "Is it the box that you meant?"

Joanna nodded her head in response to his inquiry. She then pointed at the drawer where the tray of the jug of water and the glass were placed. 

"Please take the key to unlock the box. It is in the drawer," Joanna directed Canillas, and Canillas did as was instructed.

It was not difficult for Canillas to find the key once he pulled out the drawer, as the key was placed in an open position for the eyes. 

With the key in his hand, Canillas unlocked the box and lifted the lid open, only to cause him to blink his eyes at the sight that was revealed in the opened box. 

There were several small bottles of various colors of liquid lying neatly inside the wooden box. It was soon followed by a mixture of fragrance wafted into his nose.
