Capítulo 17: CH14
Batman stood before the table, his words echoing through the room as a bored Flash and Green Lantern play catch with a crumpled-up piece of paper. Batman turns his glare towards them causing Green Lantern to stiffen as the piece of paper hits him in the head. Wonder-Woman and Superman let loose a small chuckle as Martian Manhunter gives a small smile.
The table was filled with various Heros as Batman turned back to the screen, "We have already discussed most topics for today but we have one more." The Screen flickers revealing a towering man who stood in a black outfit. A large silken black cape hanging from his shoulders, a pair of metal-toed boots, and a chrome mask covering his entire face.
Green Lantern suppressed a shiver while Martian Manhunter raised a single eyebrow, "This is Mr.Villian correct? Flash has been quite insistent that he is a non-threat and the action reports from my Niece and her friends support this."
"I disagree. So far, his actions have resulted in the destruction of an island off the coast of Brazil during a meeting with Vandal Savage, the near destruction of Central City, and finally knew of the Entities known as Granny and Kalibek whom so far we've been unable to find any leads on," Martian Manhunter pondered this. Any protest from the Flash dying down at the reminder of the exploding shoes.
"Well, we can rule out that he's colluding with other Villains. Lex can barely stand seeing the guy, meanwhile, his actions haven't gotten him any favors with Cheetah so the incident with Vandal is the exception," Batman nods, the screen changing again showing a small apartment in Metropolis.
"We've located where he lives but he's employed some sort of jamming technology that blurs his face and has been efficient in tracking and destroying all our equipment. The latest incident was a Satellite he hijacked and scrapped for parts," The picture changes again this time becoming a video of Mr. Villain with a Space Suit attaching a hook from a Tow Truck in space to the Satellite before the video turned to static.
Flash burst out laughing and a snort was heard from Superman. Batman waits a second before going on, "After tracking him to his home I discovered a small shrine with pictures of unknown people and a device of unknown origins. I suspect family members. If he is, doing this all out of loss or grief then it is imperative we try and force him to seek Psychological aid before a Villain such as the Joker, or Doctor Destiny exploit this."
A few glances are shared through the table but Wonder-Woman's eyes never leave Batman as she finally speaks up, "Then perhaps these efforts are his way of coping with that loss. He wouldn't be the first, and from the reports, it's clear to me that he ensured the Teen Titans were assembled and that Young Justice was unharmed by the intruders. Forcing him into something may be doing more harm than good considering how quickly he evacuated him."
"Shame the kids didn't see anything but rubber duck sounds and darkness. If this guy's inventions didn't keep failing I'd be more willing to listen to this but. . .So far, the only danger he presents is a Malfunction and those are certain to die down as the guy gets more experience," Flash finally speaks up. Blurring as he appeared next to Batman and opened his hand for the remote.
Batman hands him the remote without a single word and the Flash's fingers begin clicking the buttons. Blurring before coming to a pause on a single news headline. In bold it showed "Orphans of Gotham; The Gardeners of their future!"
"And who knows maybe sending him to a psychologist will turn him into some sort of. . .Mr. Hero? I'd much rather keep my Mad-Men loony toons rather than turning them all serious and brooding like yourself. So, I think my vote is going to be a sincere NO," He says handing the remote back to his spot.
Batman looks to the table sighing before asking, "I take it you two will also be voting no?"
Superman smiles and gives a nod as Wonder Woman responds with a small, "I understand you wouldn't have thrown him into Arkham but forcing him to see a psychiatrist still seems like an overreach."
Martian Manhunter and Green-Lantern look at each other. Green Lantern finally sighs, "Gonna vote no here Bats. The guy's been harmless so far and it's just a dude in a suit. He does wig out or gets mind-controlled then destroys the guy's belt and gauntlets and you're fine."
"I wish to Abstain. I do not have enough experience with Humanity, or Mr. Villain to make a solid choice," Batman sighs as the vote fails. Simply nodding as the TV turns off behind him as he paused as the door to the room opened. Mr. Villain striding in with a gray uniform and striding up to the lights.
A name label on his chest read Mr. Janitor as he heads up to the lights whistling, "Totally not here to spy! Just here to replace the bulb with environment-friendly bulbs. . .Ooooh bad time?"
He says as he slowly begins to back away. Closing the door as Superman squints as Batman simply turns to the Justice League, "Now imagine if went to the door and left a WMD instead of alerting us to his presence here."
The door is quickly slammed open Mr. Villain standing there in his normal getup and with a raygun. He fires before Batman can react and the shot washes over Batman. . .Instantly turning the man's costume to pink as Mr. Villain shouts, "Ah-ha! Now, you will learn to patch the flaw in your teleportation cancelation system in order to prevent Lex-Luthor from trying to hijack the station next weekend and crash it into Amazon Island! Wonder-Woman I'm doing this as a thank you homie keep it real. Mr. Villain out!"
Mr. Villain disappears in a flash of light. Martian Manhunter sits there for a few seconds a smile coming across his lips as he speaks, "I'm switching that vote to yes. It still fails but, I am slightly alarmed by his prospects. I am certain the others will vote no when they return."
"Still a failed vote but at least you're not alone now," Flash says with a faint grin as Batman throws a death-glare at the door.
