Capítulo 13: Meeting the Hero

The moon cast its golden glow over the valley's darkness, and the stars emerged from behind the retreating clouds. A sense of peace blanketed the surroundings.

The gentle night breeze whispered through the trees, bringing welcome relief to all who had witnessed the intense battle. 'The moon's appearance looked so enchanting tonight. But I couldn't calm the storm inside of me.'

'My blood still felt like boiling, and I couldn't control the trembling of my hands, which were soaked in blood. Good thing I always bring a handkerchief with me!' Seraphyne slowly wiped the blood off her hands with a little disgust in her mind.

She could still vividly remember how she chopped meat for the first month under her grandfather's strict training. 'Grandpa used to force me to chop lots of meat.'

'Sometimes, they would stink, and he would let me identify which parts were rotting and which parts were usable. However, I couldn't remember how many times I used animal blood to cook odd delicacies before.'

'Bringing a handkerchief is a habit. This prevents me from damaging my nerve cells after using my hands for too long in cooking and exposing them to heat, times which I am not allowed to touch water or wash.'

As Seraphyne listened to the approaching footsteps of Kieiran, she couldn't help but feel a tinge of curiosity. Her thoughts wandered, 'Is this the face of my stepson?'

Living within the pages of a novel, she lacked the visual cues of a photo album or personal mementos to confirm his appearance. And as a responsible stepmother, she understood and respected the boundaries of privacy.

Thus, the mystery of the Alpha's face and his son remained unsolved. 'It's sad that in this world, people are not a big fan of compiling pictures or hanging family portraits. It would be awkward to ask for a copy of their faces from the housekeepers, too. That would make them doubt my identity.'

As the young man reached her side, his concern was evident. His heart had raced with anxiety, fearing the worst for the new Luna. 'I hope she's not injured... Protecting the pack and heading to the frontline of the battlefield is not yet her responsibility.'

In their world, such negligence could indeed lead to dire consequences. However, as his gaze met Seraphyne's, his racing heart seemed to find an odd feeling of calmness.

'Her stare can calm people's hearts. Does she practice the art of healing? I suddenly felt comfortable and wasn't as anxious as when I arrived earlier...'

Looking up, Seraphyne was struck by his appearance. Her penchant for handsome individuals was no secret, and she had an eye for it.

The young man before her was a striking figure, standing at an impressive height of 1.9 meters. His reddish-brown hair complemented his bluish-green eyes, creating a captivating contrast.

She thought, 'This kid is very handsome!'

Despite the tension of the night's events, his cold demeanor held a unique charm. He embodied the essence of youthful allure, a refreshing and handsome presence that could brighten any room.

To Seraphyne, he was like a burst of summer sunshine amidst the chill of winter. 'This kid can be a model, and his face can sell a lot of brands!'

As she admired his appearance, Seraphyne couldn't help but wonder why such handsome male classmates had eluded her during her previous life. It felt unfair, yet her thoughts didn't stray to anything more profound than simple appreciation.

'He can be a school grass at this state. The standard of beauty shall befall him! And girls around his age would line up from one planet to another...'

She had no ulterior motives, and her only desire was to steal a few more glances and absorb the vibrant aura of youth. 'It must be nice to be young!'

Turning back to the boy, she noticed a subtle furrow in his brow. A hint of concern marred his handsome features, and Seraphyne couldn't help but speculate. Was he perhaps worried about the safety and well-being of the pack under her care?

His demeanor suggested a deep sense of responsibility and protectiveness in Seraphyne's eyes. 'I thought this kid could only be described as rebellious and arrogant. Books and real people have a big gap!'

'The difference was so big that it would make me think my sister distorted the image of the stepson intentionally and as bad as it could be. Bad and rebellious boys should be the type of young readers!'

Kieiran began to scrutinize Seraphyne, his gaze moving methodically as he checked for any signs of injury. She, in turn, allowed his scrutiny without resistance, though she couldn't help but feel a hint of awkwardness.

After a moment of silence, Kieiran cleared his throat, his voice carrying the weight of authority as he spoke, "Luna, it's not advisable for you to be at the forefront of the battle without permission from my father or the Alpha in charge. The pack's safety is our utmost priority."

His words were spoken with a firmness that betrayed his status as the Alpha's son, and while he didn't directly challenge her actions, the underlying message was clear.

Her place was not on the battlefield without proper authorization.

Reluctantly, Kieiran rallied the pack members and directed their efforts towards the imprisoned intruders. They were quickly apprehended and brought back to the pack's territory under the watchful eyes of the warriors.

Seraphyne, however, remained rather passive throughout the process. Her interest seemed to wane as she lost herself in her own thoughts, caring little about the fate of the rogues now in custody. Her inaction puzzled some, but Kieiran knew that her heart was not fully invested in the affairs of the pack, at least not yet.

As they returned to the pack's territory, the night sky bore witness to the complex dynamics within the Bloodmoon pack, and Seraphyne, their newly arrived Luna, continued to be a subject of curiosity and intrigue among the members.

The next morning, the Bloodmoon pack was abuzz with talk about the unexpected fight that had taken place on the East border. Warriors gathered in small groups, animatedly discussing the events of the previous night.

"It was incredible, I tell you," one warrior exclaimed, his eyes shining with excitement.

"I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw Luna Seraphyne taking on those rogues single-handedly."

"Yeah," another chimed in.

"I heard she was practically a blur, moving so fast that the rogues couldn't even lay a finger on her. And her power... It was like nothing I've ever seen before."

The cameras placed around the pack had captured the entire skirmish, and the footage of Seraphyne's one-against-fifteen fight had quickly become the talk of the pack. Members gathered around screens, replaying the video, and marveled at the Luna's prowess.

"She's not just beautiful. She's a total badass!" a younger pack member remarked, earning nods of agreement from those around him.

Praises for Luna Seraphyne echoed throughout the pack, and many admired her courage and strength.

Meanwhile, in the foreign city branch office, Zephyir received unexpected news as he was reviewing documents. His brows furrowed as he read the message on his tablet. The pack's security team had alerted him about the overnight incident at the East border.

"Seraphyne..." he muttered to himself, an unreadable expression in his eyes. It was clear that his new wife was not as ordinary as she seemed, and her actions were garnering attention both inside and outside the pack.

With a sigh, he made a mental note to discuss this matter with her later, knowing that the dynamic within the Bloodmoon pack was evolving in unexpected ways.

Zephyir immediately called Lucas to get more information about the incident.

"Lucas," Zephyir began, "tell me everything you know about what happened at the East border last night."

Lucas, a strong and imposing Beta, responded with a serious tone. "Alpha, there was a rogue incursion on the East border. Fifteen of them, all of them above level five. They managed to injure five of our warriors."

Zephyir's brow furrowed further. An attack of this scale was rare, and it was concerning. "And the Luna, how did she get involved?"

Lucas hesitated for a moment before replying, "Alpha, it appears that she arrived at the scene before the backup did. She engaged the rogues in combat, and from what we've gathered, she was... exceptional. She defeated all of them without sustaining any injuries herself."

Zephyir couldn't help but feel concerned. "Is she safe?"

"Yes, Alpha," Lucas assured him. "She's unharmed, and Kieiran accompanied her back to the main house. They've also brought the captured rogues back for questioning."

"Good," Zephyir said, his tone firm. "Keep me informed of the situation, Lucas. We'll return to the pack as soon as we can."

Zephyir took a moment to collect his thoughts. Seraphyne's actions were indeed surprising, and he needed to understand her better. The fact that she had intervened and defeated the rogues without harm was impressive, but it also raised questions about her capabilities and her intentions within the pack.

As he prepared to leave the branch office, he couldn't help but wonder about the woman who was now his wife and the Luna of the Bloodmoon pack. There was much more to her than met the eye, and Zephyir was determined to uncover the truth.
