Ethan's eyes were fixed on his phone, as he counted the hours left until Shikera was expected to be back home. She had called him a few minutes ago to inform him they were just leaving the campground and that it would take the bus at least five hours to get back to Preston TV. And now, he was checking the time already.

"It's just 6am; she should be back by 11 at most," he murmured, before laying back down on the couch. He has not been able to sleep since the previous night and now, anticipation was already making it worse for him.

A gentle knock on his door made him furrow his brows as he called out loud,"Who is there?"

"It's me, daddy," he heard Esther's voice.

Standing up to unlock the door and allow her come in, he immediately closed the door after her.
