Charlie stood beside Angelica, who sat in a chair near the bed, both gazing at Emma, who had just awakened, surrounded by a multitude of medical equipment, especially for breathing assistance.

"Mrs. Emma..." Charlie greeted me with a warm smile.

Emma fell silent, furrowing her brow, not expecting Charlie to show up after she thought his relationship with Angelica had ended.

Angelica hesitated, concerned that her mother might not welcome Charlie's presence. "Mom..." She was unsure of what to say, feeling afraid to admit she wanted to be back with Charlie.

"Perhaps you're surprised that I'm here," Charlie said, sensing Angelica's fear. "I've never been far from you... I've been in Hawaii since Angelica was in Hawaii too... She didn't even know I was around. I've been monitoring you from a distance...
