"Hmm..."
I wriggled, shifted positions, and tried to find a pillow or blanket, but what I found felt like a body. Yes, it was someone's body, and the distinctive perfume aroma made me open my eyes to discover that it was Charlie, peacefully asleep.
"Oh, shitt!"
I quickly sat up, distancing myself, and staring at him in surprise. How did he end up here? Was I dreaming? How did Kate let him in when she knew I was avoiding him?
I patted my cheek, feeling a slight sting, and glanced at Charlie's shooed feet. It wasn't a hallucination; he was here.
He tilted his head towards me, slowly opening his eyes and sitting up.
"Hi, you're awake..."
"You're bothering me, you startled me!" I said sharply. "You shouldn't have come here!" I emphasized, attempting to get out of bed, but he held onto my hand.
"You know I can't be without you..."
"Charlie!" I pulled my hand away forcefully.
