After two hours of walking through the desolate desert, they had managed to visualize something that looked like an oasis, but they were unsure if it was.
As is well known, deserts often generate mirages, optical illusions caused by the refraction of light that produce distorted images of distant objects or the sky.
In addition, before reaching this point, on their way, they encountered various types of monsters, from vultures to giant ants, which mutated due to the environment. However, none of these monsters were as difficult for them as the Titan scorpion they first encountered.
It wasn't hard for them because these monsters weren't as tough as the scorpion.
Erik had gone up three levels and was now at level twenty-two.
To check the oasis he was seeing was natural.
Erik concentrated on that. His eyes began to glow slightly, and his vision turned black and white.
Then, he confirmed that the oasis was not a mirage, but his eyes picked up something else...
What a vile dungeon...
I didn't expect the boss monster to hide in that place...
After confirming the authenticity of the oasis, his eyes saw the 'Soul' of a monster, perfectly hidden, waiting for the perfect moment to strike when they were vulnerable.
It's a good thing I have these eyes... Erik is satisfied with the eyes he has.
If it wasn't for those eyes, he would have no idea what they were for or how to use them properly, and he would also lack any information about them.
Looking away from the monster's "Soul," he calmly said.
"The oasis is real."
Violet arched an eyebrow as if they had misheard him.
"How can you be sure it's not a mirage?" she asked, unsure how he could be so sure of her words.
Erik turned his gaze back to Violet and pointed to her eyes, which were still glowing slightly.
"I know, thanks to my eyes," He said, pointing to her eyes.
Upon contact with those eyes, Violet shivered to the depths of her being. Her expression turned pale as if she had seen a ghost and a cold sweat began to run down her back. Even her breathing became erratic.
Several question marks began to appear above Erik's head. He didn't understand why Violet was reacting like this...
Maybe there's a monster in the back.
He spun quickly to dodge any attack thrown at him, but to his surprise, there was no monster behind him, only sand and dust.
Seeing nothing behind he, Erik's expression became confused.
If there are no monsters, why did she get like that? He wondered, now more confused.
He didn't understand why Violet reacted like that, as her eyes returned to normal again.
And the moment his vision returned to normal...
"Gasp... gasp... gasp..." The air returned to Violet's lungs in agitated gasps as she fell to her knees in the sand, her beautiful face drenched in sweat, her expression complicated.
Erik, visibly worried, ran to her as he asked.
"What happened? Why did your expression suddenly change? What did you see?"
Violet could not answer immediately, as she had no breath to say anything. After a while, she tried to formulate a word and opened her mouth to say something but closed it again.
There were not enough words to explain what she had just experienced. What Violet felt when she exchanged glances with Erik was something indescribable:
Death!
It is not a death involving a reincarnation cycle but an actual extinction.
So why Violet's intense reaction? The answer was simple: it was not herself, but her soul, that felt threatened by Erik's gaze.
And why was Violet's soul so uneasy when she saw Erik's eyes? The reason was apparent: Erik's eyes are "VERY" special; as his name indicated, they were the "Eyes of the End."
Violet paled; her soul felt the impending "End."
A minute passed, and Erik helped Violet sit up again. Violet inhaled deeply and felt her lungs fill with air again.
"Phew... let's move on," Violet said, trying to sound calmer though her hand was still shaking.
Seeing this, Erik quickly thought of a way to change the awkward atmosphere he had formed and said.
"Violet cast that spell you used against the little goblin village."
Violet looked at Erik with a confused expression, not understanding why he had told her that and asked.
"Why do you want me to destroy the oasis?"
"Cast the spell, and you'll realize why I'm telling you," Erik replied with a mysterious smile.
He didn't want to say that he had seen the boss monster's soul with his eyes because he was afraid Violet would remember again what he had just experienced.
Violet hesitated for a second but decided to listen to him, knowing that even if she didn't know him well, Erik wasn't someone who would lie about such things.
She closed her eyes, raised her wand, and gathered the mana around her, quickly transforming it into magical energy. When she opened her eyes, they glowed brightly.
Then, she began to conjure the spell she had used against the small goblin village.
Unlike before, her wand began to emit a strong glow, and a huge magic circle began to form over the oasis, completely blue with shades of white.
Violet's face lit up with a broad smile when the magic circle finished forming because she really liked this spell.
She exclaims excitedly.
"[Star Glacier]"
From the vast magic circle in the sky began to emerge a colossal ice rock that seemed more significant than the one thrown against the goblins, creating a gigantic shadow that covered the entire oasis.
The vast ice rock began to descend from the sky like a meteorite, creating friction in the air due to its large size and the speed with which it descended.
Feeling threatened, the boss monster, perfectly hidden in the oasis, came out of hiding, revealing its appearance: a giant black scorpion of four meters emanating such a heavy aura that even Erik and Violet, despite being far from the oasis, felt it.
Violet saw the vast black scorpion, and now she understood why Erik had told her to cast this spell. However, she had doubts.
How did she know that there was a monster in the oasis?
But she decided not to ask for them; she knew she would not receive any answer.
Instead of running like the goblins, the vast black scorpion prepared to face him. When the enormous ice rock was only a few meters away from the oasis, the only thing that could be seen was a massive chunk of ice, making the scorpion look tiny.
Being only a few centimeters away from the impact, the scorpion's stinger moved incredibly fast, releasing venom.
BOOM!
A thunderous sound echoed in the desolate desert as the vast ice rock made contact with the oasis, raising a massive cloud of dust, sand, and ice everywhere.
Following the rumbling came a strong tremor that shook the entire ground, once again alerting all the monsters hiding at that moment.
Then, a strong breeze swept away all the dust that covered the place, exposing the state of the oasis, which no longer existed; there was only a vast crater.
From the huge crater, something began to move slowly. It was the black scorpion that had survived Violet's spell, but it was destroyed. Its pincers were a mess; the stinger with which it attacked the huge ice rock was gone, and it lost several legs.
Despite all the damage, it had survived!
"He managed to survive that?" Erik exclaimed in surprise.
But now was no time to be surprised.
Without a second thought, Erik launched himself at full speed towards the monster because he didn't know if the monster had any regenerative powers.
When he reached the edge of the crater, he took a giant leap and, in the air, covered the spear with End Energy.
Boom!
Another explosion was heard in the desolate desert, but not as loud as the previous one. It was on a smaller scale, raising a small cloud of dust, which quickly dissipated, revealing Erik on top of the vast black scorpion.

Looking at all the windows grouped, Erik looked and closed them all. He let out a sigh.
"Phew... unless we finish it fast, or it would be a pain in the ass to deal with," he muttered, pulling the spear out of the monster's head and reaching out to pull out the mana stone.
Once he had extracted the mana stone, he handed it to Violet to absorb.
After doing so, she was almost nothing away from ascending to rank C.
Since he had previously absorbed the D-rank mana stones, he could not ascend at this point.
With the dungeon boss defeated, they headed for the exit.
Once outside the dungeon.
"What the hell happened!?"
