Capítulo 17: First try

Lu Yunxiao asked the system to hide the information panel, and he stood up. Stretching slightly, he moved towards the secret room.

In the shop, Haibodong was waiting. The tea at the bottom of his cup was already dry, and he appeared lost. The concern in his eyes was beyond words.

Hearing footsteps behind him, Hai Bodong reacted and turned to look. "Breakthrough?" he asked softly as he sensed Lu Yunxiao's strong aura.

"Yes, the breakthrough went smoothly, and I directly advanced to the four-star fighter," Lu Yunxiao said with a smile.

"You've accumulated a lot over time," Hai Bodong sighed. Seeing the determination in Lu Yunxiao's eyes, he could sense the sharpness between his brows.

"Looking at you, it seems you've acquired a metal grudge. Not many possess such a grudge, making metallic techniques quite hard to find. However, if luck is on your side, I happen to have a set of intermediate-level mysterious technique, 'Yuan Geng Sword Art.' I acquired it a long time ago. You can have it at a discounted price, young man."

With these words, Hai Bodong took out a scroll from his ring. It emitted a faint golden light.

"'Yuan Geng Sword Art' also includes a set of sword fighting skills, making it an intermediate-level mysterious technique. When combined, its value is comparable to an advanced-level mysterious technique. Take it, kid."

Lu Yunxiao took the scroll, his eyes shining with gratitude. First, the Qi gathering technique, then the 'Yuan Geng Sword Art.' Even though he didn't use the latter yet, he appreciated Hai Bodong's care.

Seeing Lu Yunxiao's expression, Hai Bodong seemed moved. He coughed and said, "Put it away once you've got the technique. It's getting dark. Let's prepare dinner. You must be starving; you've been busy with your breakthrough all afternoon."

Hearing this, Lu Yunxiao glanced outside the store and realized the sky had started to darken.

"Alright, I'll get dinner ready. Wait a moment," Lu Yunxiao said softly, tucking the scroll into his storage ring.

"Go ahead," Hai Bodong waved his hand, his impatience evident.

With a faint smile, Lu Yunxiao turned and started preparing dinner.

...

The next morning, the sun hung high in the sky, casting a bright light over the earth. Dressed in white, Lu Yunxiao held the Flying Rainbow Sword and headed towards the Tagore Desert.

The early morning desert was still relatively cool, and the breeze offered a refreshing feeling. This was a rare good time in the desert; the temperature would soon rise to unbearable levels.

Lu Yunxiao's white robe not only reflected his simple taste but also helped him endure the desert's heat.

As he stepped onto the desert sand, Lu Yunxiao walked calmly, following his previous path toward the desert's heart. This time, he had set aside a month or two for this experience.

After spending a week in the desert previously, now that his strength had grown, he needed to enhance his experience as well.

With enough supplies stored in his ring, Lu Yunxiao was confident about this experience. He walked slowly, and as time passed, the temperature began to rise.

Suddenly, a small sound reached Lu Yunxiao's ears, causing him to stop abruptly. He opened his eyes slightly and saw a hint of brilliance in his eyes.

Swiftly unsheathing his Feihong sword, Lu Yunxiao's right foot stomped the ground, sending dust flying in all directions. A scorpion-like monster was split in half just one meter away from him, its body falling to the ground.

Looking at the corpse, Lu Yunxiao saw green blood flowing into the sand.

This beast was known as the Desert Scorpion, a first-order monster. Some might even reach the second-order. The one before him was at the initial stage of the first order.

These monsters usually hid in the sand, making them difficult to spot. However, with Lu Yunxiao's soul power and enhanced perception, he could easily detect their presence.

Lu Yunxiao shook his head, realizing there was no magic core. The magic core was the crystallization of a monster's power. Higher-level soul beasts usually possessed them, but they weren't available for every low-level soul beast.

After dealing with the Desert Scorpion, Lu Yunxiao retracted his sword, noticing it remained free of blood. This sword was indeed exceptional compared to his previous stainless steel one.

"Breaking through to the fighter realm has significantly increased my strength. Killing a first-stage Desert Scorpion with one blow is a testament to that," Lu Yunxiao thought to himself.

With his sword in hand, he continued onward. The sun had moved in the sky, and the air was getting hotter. Lu Yunxiao was well-prepared for this experience, determined to spend a month or two in the desert.
