Capítulo 15: Conversations with the Fleet Admiral.
Gohan didn't like the looks they were giving him. "Why are you guys looking at me like that? Can't a man even celebrate now? Hitting that tower from here is nothing short of an achievement, you know?" said Gohan in excitement.
"He must have died." "There's no way anyone can survive that crash." "Even his body would not be recognizable." "So ruthless!" Marines started talking among themselves with sadness. "Oh! You guys sure are having a good time, huh?" said Gohan with a smile.
Marines started to tremble again. "YOU!!! How could you??? YOU KILLED A MARINE CAPTAIN!! DO YOU REALLY WANT TO DESTROY OUR ISLAND? Everyone on the island will be implicated because of you!!" said Nami with despair.
Gohan started walking towards Nami. After reaching her, he held her chin and looked into her eyes. "Nami, you sure are brave! You can even shout at me after seeing that! But you know, I am not a biased person. I treat both men and women equally," said Gohan with a smile.
But to Nami, it was like death itself was looking at her. She started trembling in fear. "Hahaha..."
Gohan started laughing. "You are such an easy target, Nami," said Gohan as he continued laughing. Nami started trembling with anger, and just as she was about to lunge at him, Genzo and Nojiko held her tightly.
"LET ME GO!!! I AM GOING TO BEAT THE SHIT OUT OF THIS BASTARD!!!" shouted Nami, trying to get free.
Gohan stopped laughing and said, "Okay, jokes aside, let's get serious," said Gohan. "Look who's talking!" said Nami in sarcasm. "Okay, sorry for teasing you! Now let's get down to business," said Gohan with a smile.
"You guys don't have to worry about the Marines doing anything to this island's people because I have a plan!" said Gohan while grinning.
"Hey, you! Come here," said Gohan while looking at the soldier who was holding the Den Den Mushi.
That soldier looked at Gohan, thinking, 'So I have to crawl again?' But after looking at Gohan's smiling face, he gritted his teeth and started crawling towards him.
Once he got there, Gohan said to him, "Call the Marine headquarters and tell them about what Captain Nezumi has been doing here truthfully."
Gohan continued with a smile, "If you dare talk more than you should, then I will use you to hit Arlong Pirates' flag." That Marine started dialing, and the call connected to the headquarters. "This is the Marine headquarters, who is this?" asked the person from the other side.
"I am a Marine officer from the 16th branch. I want to report something," said the soldier. "Okay, soldier, what do you want to report?" asked the person. "I want to report that Arlong Pirates have taken control of the Conomi Islands," said the soldier.
"WHAT? When did it happen? What's the report of casualties?" asked the person frantically. The Marine soldier looked at Gohan and said while trembling, "Ei... eight years ago." "...." There was silence for a few seconds on the other side, after that the sound of running and panting could be heard.
"FLEET ADMIRAL!! THERE'S A BIG PROBLEM!" shouted the person on the other side. "Why are you in a hurry, soldier? And what big problem?" said Sengoku after putting down his pen. "There is a report from the 16th branch! Arlong Pirates have taken control over Conomi Islands," said the officer with hurry.
"What? How's the situation there? Did you send the backup?" asked Sengoku. "No! there..." "You didn't? Do you know there could be some soldiers who might still be fighting?!" said Sengoku in anger. On the other side, after hearing that, Nami and Nojiko started shaking in anger. "It's been eight years," said the soldier.
"What eight years?" asked Sengoku in confusion. "It's been eight years since Arlong Pirates have taken control over Conomi Islands," said the soldier. There was a long silence after that. "What's your name?" This time Den Den Mushi's looks changed.
"I am a Marine..." "Just tell me your name! You are not a Marine anymore," said Sengoku as the injured soldier started to tremble. "It's Jack, Fleet Admiral."
"What was the 16th branch doing when Arlong Pirates took control over the Conomi Islands? Why didn't anyone inform the headquarters?" asked Sengoku with a calm voice. Jack looked at Gohan, who smiled at him. "As expected from an old timer," thought Gohan.
"So where is Captain Nezumi right now?" asked Sengoku. Jack looked at Gohan, and Gohan gave him a nod. "He is dead!" said Jack. "Dead? How?" asked Sengoku. "Because I killed him," this time Gohan answered the question himself.
Sengoku looked surprised but didn't lose his temper and asked, "And who might you be?" "I am Gohan from Straw Hat Pirates," said Gohan with a smile. Sengoku looked at the Marine in his office, wanting to know if he had any reports on them, but the Marine shook his head.
"You might not have heard of us since we have just started sailing," said Gohan. "Okay, so why did you kill Captain Nezumi?" asked Sengoku. "Well, he was trying to rob people, and he even wanted to kill them. But I didn't exactly kill him; I just threw him, and he died from the impact. I am not lying! You can ask your subordinate. But are all Marines this weak?" said Gohan with an innocent smile.
Sengoku started shaking in anger but controlled himself. "What do you want, pirate?" said Sengoku with anger. "Oh, straight to the business!" said Gohan. Then he stopped smiling and said, "I don't want anything from you, neither do I want you to know that Marines are corrupt because you already know that, don't you?" said Gohan.
"I just wanted you to know that just yesterday Arlong Pirates slaughtered a village. Men, women, children, they killed everyone. You can only imagine how many people they have killed in these past eight years," said Gohan with a calm voice.
Gohan looked at Nami and Nojiko and said, "Eight years ago they killed a woman who was the mother of two girls; they were not her biological children. She rescued them from a war-torn island. They were happy, but Arlong took their happiness by killing the woman right in front of her daughters," said Gohan with a sad face.
Nami and Nojiko started crying. "You know what's more tragic? She was a former Marine. I will not tell her name because you don't deserve to know it. Well, we can't change the past, but don't worry, we the Straw Hats will take care of
Arlong Pirates as you guys are not competent enough," said Gohan.
"What?" said Sengoku. "And if you have more problems like this in East Blue, you can tell me because I like helping weak people," said Gohan with a smile. The call was cut. In Sengoku's office, Sengoku was gritting his teeth from anger; seeing that, the no-name Marine wanted to sneak away.
"Wait! No one should know about what happened just now. Do you understand?" asked Sengoku. The Marine officer nodded solemnly. "And I want full details about every member of Straw Hat Pirates," said Sengoku. "YES," replied the officer.
At Cocoyashi, Gohan walked towards the Marines and started throwing them away. After throwing them, he looked at Jack. "Don't worry; I am going to throw you! Let's go and visit your branch," said Gohan.
He then looked towards Nami and said, "You know, Nami, you are the bravest person I have ever met. But since we have set foot on this island, you are being nothing but stupid," said Gohan. "Did you really think that Arlong is the kind of person who will keep his promise?" asked Gohan.
"By now you should know what to do. There are four people waiting for you; if you go towards Arlong Park, you will be able to see them. You shouldn't be ashamed of asking for help from your friends," said Gohan with a genuine smile.
"Oh yes! Tell them I will be there after taking care of the remaining Marines from the 16th branch," said Gohan and disappeared, taking Jack with him. Nami wiped her tears and started walking towards Arlong Park.
It didn't take long for him to take care of the Marines. "So, Jack, do you have a snail that takes pictures in this branch?" asked Gohan. "Yes, we do have one," Jack replied fearfully. "Ok! Go get it," ordered Gohan.
A few minutes earlier, in Arlong Park, a fish-man looked up and said, "Did you hear that?" "AaaaAAAA!!... BAM!!" But before anyone could reply, they heard a scream; then something tore through the building's upper floor and fell before them.
"Who dares to attack us?" said Kuroobi. Arlong stood up from his chair and walked towards the thing which fell just now. Arlong looked at it; it was a mangled body of a Marine. Arlong looked closely, and his eyes widened. "Nezumi?" said Arlong.
"It really is Nezumi, but who killed him?" asked Hatchan. "He was gone to get Nami's money. That means Nami got herself a backer," said Arlong. "What? She dare! Let's go and kill them," said Chew.
"Don't worry; she will come here; then we will show what true despair feels like," said Arlong with a grin.
After a few minutes, the gate of Arlong Park got blasted open, and Luffy, Zoro, Sanji, and Usopp walked in. "Which one of you is Arlong?" said Luffy with a calm. But before Arlong could reply, Gohan appeared with Jack.
"Yo! Hm? You guys are already here? Has the fight started?" asked Gohan. "No! We were just about to kick their asses," replied Sanji. "Oh! That's good. Look, I brought a cameraman; he will take our cool-looking pictures. Then we will look cool in our wanted posters. 'I don't want to take any chances,' thought Gohan.
"And I also got this," said Gohan, showing them a box of bullets. "So don't worry about those weaklings. Now go select your ugly ones and get started," he said to the crew and looked at Jack. "I have high expectations of you, so don't disappoint me, or you will fly!" said Gohan with a smile.
Then he disappeared and appeared behind Hatchan and knocked him out. "Can't let you die here because you are going to be useful." "Hey Zoro, you can sleep this out, right, Captain?" asked Gohan. "Yes, Zoro is injured, so he should rest," said Luffy.
"What? But I can fight..." Before Zoro could say anything else, Gohan knocked him out too. "Well then, gentlemen? No, sorry, you filthy bastards! Let the show begin."
