Capítulo 4: learning & being a mechanic part 2(edited)

As I looked over at the truck, I began to get up and make my way to it. I heard Suka begin to speak.

"Old man, I think we should head to the coast or possibly find a bulwark. At the very least, it should help us leave this frozen continent."

As I started to overlook the truck, saying it was still fairly put together, just needing to replace a part or two, and it would work just fine. I noticed Jogo was staring at the steering wheel like a hungry predator. I couldn't help but chuckle at that look. I looked back at Suka with a smirk and quietly nodded my head as I began to remove the parts that needed to be replaced. Felix brought out another truck, and as I went to salvage what I needed to repair the first truck, I noticed something interesting. This one had been what carried the master, as Felix said. I found a hidden compartment, but what was in the compartment was fairly disturbing. It was a pair of silver eyes floating in a glass jar. I used [Predator] on it; near instantly, I knew this was probably one of Salem's people's trucks, but that doesn't explain much of anything. But a notification from [Great sage] brought me out of my thoughts.

"[You have attained the [Silver Eye] skill.

You have attended [Silver-Eyed Resistance].

You have attained the [God of Light's blessing].

You have obtained the passive skill [Magic Particle Regeneration].]"

I went stiff as a board after seeing the [God of Light's blessing], but what really caught my attention was [Magic Particle Regeneration]. [Great sage] decided to speak up and explain.

"[The [Silver Eye] tribe was blessed by the [God of Light] so they can fight back against the creatures of grimm. By using [Predator] on a pair of silver eyes, you obtained his blessing, which gives you the ability to naturally create magical particles within your body, giving you reserves for them, and, of course, you will gain the ability to regenerate them. You are now completely immune to [Silver Eye]'s effect on the grimm and are capable of using those eyes as well.]"

I quickly forgot about this because I didn't find it important enough to forget what I am currently doing. So, I decided to salvage all the parts I need and start to repair the first truck, which was meant for soldiers. As I looked at one of the windows, I noticed in my royal purple eyes there is now a silver slit where the center of my eyes is. As I repair the truck, I ask [Great sage] in my mind.

"Now that I have the ability to generate magical particles, will I be able to use the [Fusion] skill?"

I received a notification from [Great sage] near instantly as I finished up on the truck.

[Correct, you will also eventually be able to name Grimm, as well as Faunus because of their animalistic features. However, you will phrase the naming as a title. By giving a title or nickname to one of your tribe members, their semblance will evolve into a more powerful version or, at the very least, reduce the consumption of aura by a large margin. But be warned, by naming grimm, you will be giving them high-level intelligence and will not guarantee their loyalty to you.]

Nodding my head quietly, since I decided to pick the path of the bandit, I would not name any Grimm. I would also have to wait on naming any of my tribesmen because they haven't really done anything worth giving them a nickname. I got curious as I looked over to Luna and began to speak to her.

"Luna, do you know where the nearest town is where there could be a bulwark?"

She quietly nodded her head, puffing her non-existent chest out.

"Yeah, we just came from one."

I looked into my infantry and noticed I had some clothes. The only thing I could think of was where I got them was from either Virgil's template or from when I used [Predator] on those soldiers. After looking at the clothes, I came to the conclusion it is both of them. As I stood up, I noticed Felix had put the other truck back into his semblance space. I smacked the side of the truck as I began to speak to everyone.

"All right, this truck is now in perfect working condition. Let's make our way to that town. We can free any Faunus slaves and kill any human slave owners. And probably draw a ton of grimm to it. Or we can just sneak into the town and take a bulwark. It's up to you all."

After hearing this, all of them seemed to stay silent for a few moments, looking at each other like they were having a silent conversation. I began to make my way to the back of the truck where the soldiers would sit. I decided to use Predator to get rid of all of these soldier markings that would label this as a military vehicle. I spoke up as I entered the back.

"I'm changing clothes, so give me your answer in about 20 minutes or so."

I closed the back of the truck and began switching into Virgil's outfit. I started to move around in the outfit to get used to it. I decided to try and bring out my wings to see if they would rip, and to my surprise, they didn't. My wings just appeared, like these clothes had slits built for my wings. I heard a knock at the back as I spoke out loud.

"I'm done changing."

Luna opened the back and stepped in, looking at my new outfit with my wings out. She seemed shocked and actually blushed a little. But she spoke relatively quickly.

"We decided to do a little bit of column A and a little bit of column B on your statement. We will free any slaves we find, recruit them into the tribe, then we will sneak around the town and take a bulwark. And Felix used to be a pilot before he got enslaved, so we won't have to worry about not being able to fly."

I nodded quietly as I noticed everyone but Jogo had gotten in the back for some reason. I thought we were in for a bumpy ride, and when I looked at Jogo, my suspicion was proven correct since he seemed very worried. I made my wings retreat back into my back as I sat down and buckled myself in. As soon as I had done that and closed the door, the truck immediately started and began to drive off. I looked at Suka, who seemed to be held by Luna in her lap, keeping him from hitting his head on anything. I closed my eyes because I forgot how long it's been since I last slept. As I closed my eyes, I noticed there was a slot for the driver to hear, so I decided to speak to Jogo.

"All right, when we get close to town, stop the truck. We'll walk in or sneak in depending on how much security is on the gate. Oh, and make sure we're out of sight so Felix can put this truck back into his semblance space. Oh, and this is for everyone: if grimm attack, wake me up, or if you think you can handle it, let me sleep."

I heard a couple of bangs from the front like someone hitting the wall in response, and I decided to go to sleep. After a few hours of driving and me sleeping, I jerked awake when the truck stopped. When I looked at everyone else, they looked like their hair was a damn afro. As I unbuckled myself, I stood up as Luna began to speak.

"All right, we're about 5 minutes away from the town. It's not a very big town, really. The only things that are really important here are the communications and the bulwarks. This town is probably one of the smallest in Atlas, so we most likely won't run into any real powerful hunters or huntresses."

I nodded my head quietly as I left the truck; Luna soon followed, and I saw Felix put the truck back into his semblance space. As I started to wonder about something, I asked [Great sage].

"Will I be able to act as a beacon for grimm?"

After I spoke that in my mind, [Great sage] seemed to react pretty quickly.

[Yes, you can. By making a dark pulse of magical particles, you will be able to act as if the city was drowning in despair, drawing all the grimm here.]

After hearing this, I nodded my head quietly, as I would do just that right now. I could tell the others couldn't see it, but a black pulse expanded outward from my feet, though Suka seemed to notice it but remained quiet. I placed my finger to my lips as I signaled for us to head to town. It was the middle of the night, so we could approach the town with relative ease. Suka began to speak.

"Did you all know the old man has a second semblance? It's pretty cool, but he can only go to places he has been or he has given a marker."

[Great sage] seemed to speak up.

[With the skill [Blade Gate], you can teleport to wherever your tribe member is.]

I quietly nodded my head as everyone seemed shocked as I began to speak.

"Yeah, and I have a marker with my brat, so if anything goes awry, you're leaving ahead, and I will stay back because I can just teleport to wherever the brat is."

Suka most likely said this so I could use [Blade Gate], AKA the portal that Virgil can make with the Yamato, now named Grim Heart. This seemed to shock everyone, but they all quickly nodded their heads. They probably will have a lot of questions once we take to the air. By the time I looked forward, I saw the front gate to the town. I didn't really care about its name because after today, it will pretty much be destroyed thanks to that dark pulse I let off. I looked at them, nodded, and began quietly approaching. I noticed there were only really two guys on guard, and thanks to my Grimm existence, I can sense most emotions like any other grimm. I could tell it's only those two on duty this night since every other guard is pretty much in the town itself. I made sure my wings were in my back as we approached. One of the guards was going to speak, but I quickly used my enhanced speed to appear in front of both guards and decapitated both of them because, after all, I had no believable story for us to get in with no trouble.

I gestured for all my tribe to move in, and as they walked in, I looked towards the direction behind us and could hear the Grimm howling and roaring. My tribe ran into town. I used [Predator] on the corpses of the guards, and I did get two notifications for them as I began walking into town, pulsing the dark pulse once more.

"[You have attained the skill [Physical Enhancement].

You have attained the passive skill [Enhanced Reflexes].]"

I nodded my head quietly at what I attained because this was rather good. As I looked at my tribe, they seemed scared hearing all the grimm roars. I quickly said to them,

"Run ahead. I won't be in danger if I stay behind to start chopping them down. Forget looking for slaves, just run towards the bulwarks and get yourself one and fly off. I can teleport to the brat now. Go."

They nodded their heads and began running at full speed, Luna holding Suka as she ran. I stood perfectly still as I heard the sirens go off about a grimm attack. Within a few minutes, I quickly drew Grim Heart and looked in the direction of the grimm. Regardless if a grimm falls or any townsfolk fall, I'll be getting quite a good harvest from this event. I then remembered the whole demon Lord path, and at that moment, [Great sage] began to speak.

[You currently possess 20 souls. You still require 9,980 souls to become a demon Lord. You also require a demon Lord seed.]

After hearing that, I decided to ask [Great sage] a question.

"If I become a demon Lord, could Salem still control me?"

The answer I got made me quite happy because it gave me hope on resisting Salem.

[The individual known as Salem would not be able to take control over you.]

After hearing this, I nodded my head quietly. I noticed there were hunters and huntresses running forward, and as they noticed me, they quickly thought I was just one of them who had just arrived. One of them began to talk to me.

"Got an idea about the situation?"

I nodded my head quietly as I began to speak.

"For what my semblance is telling me, we've got at bare minimum a few dozen Beowulf, Ursa, and some Grimm I have never seen before. So, I can't really tell you what they are, but we're in the deep end right now, so be ready for anything is the best I can say."

After my words, all the hunters and huntresses nodded in agreement and thanks, and began to garrison themselves on the walls. I repeatedly let out a dark pulse about 20 times to make sure this town would burn. I quickly shot a look to one of the huntresses.

"Oi, how goes the evacuation of the citizens?"

As I jumped onto the walls with my blade drawn, she seemed to think about it and began to speak.

"As soon as the alarms went off, most if not all of the people went to the bulwarks to evacuate. But if there's a Nevermore, we may not get a single person evacuated."

I nodded my head quietly as I saw the small tide of grimm charging headfirst at the wall. I smirked as I jumped down and headed to the gate to be ready to cut up some grimm that get through the gate. I noticed there were a few other hunters here as well with weapons I could tell had zero range capability like myself. They gave me serious looks and nodded towards me as they saw I stood with them. The gates were closed, but I could feel the presence of an Ursa or two banging on the front gate. I quickly sharpened my blade and got into a ready-to-draw stance. As the other melee-only hunters began to get ready in their stance, we could hear the sound of gunfire and explosions of various elements. As I looked up, I noticed there were Nevermore, about five of them. As I spread my wings, I looked at the biggest guy who had a hammer, and as I flew on top of his hammer, I spoke to him.

"There's a Nevermore in the air. Throw me, and I'll try my best to keep them busy to prevent air attacks from hitting you guys."

After hearing this, he looked up, noticing my wings. He looked like he didn't like me, but he nodded his head, knowing damn well racism had zero place on the battlefield. He began to twirl around and used the built-up momentum to launch me at the Nevermores. As I flew by one, I drew my blade and decapitated it. I quickly flew to the next Nevermore, proceeding to slice off its wing and using it to propel myself to the next one to cut it down as well. The two remaining Nevermores quickly fired their feathers at the people on the wall. I could see a few of them had their aura directly pierced and were pierced through the chest. I used my wings to turn myself and fly towards the other Nevermores. I pulled out a piece of wind dust from my coat, crushed it, and tossed it directly at the nearest Nevermore. As it hit, it exploded, destroying that Nevermore as I quickly made my way to the last one and with my blade, I severed one of its wings. Now with every single Nevermore out of the sky, I sheathed my blade and flew to the other melee fighters, and my wings began to retract into my back.

The guy with the rather large hammer nodded at me with a look of gratitude. I also noticed similar looks from some of the other melee fighters and a few of the ranged fighters on the wall. The man with the large hammer spoke to me.

"Thanks for dealing with them. They could have proved to be a very big threat."

I nodded my head as an answer, but as soon as the man was done speaking, the front gate exploded. Two Ursas charged towards our line, with another two behind them, and a few Beowulfs on their backs. I quickly ran towards one of the Ursas, using my blade to sever its head. I noticed the guy with the big hammer charged his hammer with aura, which seemed to spark with lightning. I also noticed a woman with red hair who looked a lot like Pyrrha but was obviously different—most likely, this was Pyrrha's hometown, and that woman was probably her mother. Then it struck me that I might end up killing one of the main cast if this is a few years before any of their births. Then I remembered that this world would truly be mine for the taking. I quickly shook my head as I got near the red-headed woman and began fighting by her side. I stayed quiet as I noticed most, if not all, the people on the walls were being overrun with grimm, having to switch to melee mode with their weapons. The red-headed woman looked at me and began to speak.

"We can handle this, go make sure all the citizens are evacuated."

After hearing this, I could sense the emotion of a little kid as I looked towards the direction. I began running there, and the red-headed woman noticed this and began to shout.

"I heard your semblance lets you sense people. You're heading towards my house. Make sure my daughter gets out safely if she's still there."

After hearing this, I couldn't help but think it would be a great idea to recruit a member of the main cast. I began to speed up faster, and soon I found the very house. I could feel the fear of a child there. My bottom line had been met, and now it was time to save a child. I kicked down the door and walked in. I could hear crying up above, and I quickly made my way there. As I got to the room, I could see the child crying. It most certainly looked like Pyrrha. Seeing this child, I knew immediately how long until the canon; she looked barely five years old. I quickly made my way to her, and as she looked up, she quickly began to crawl backward. I moved faster and picked up the little girl as I spoke.

"I'm a friend of your mom. She told me to make sure you get to a safe place. If you were still here, and from the looks of it, you didn't listen and didn't evacuate with everyone."

As I ran out of the house, I heard the little girl begin to sob and talk.

"I didn't want to leave behind mom."

Holding the child, I quickly used [Blade Gate] to open a portal to Suka.

"I'm going to use my semblance to send you through this portal. I'll bring you to some of my friends on a bulwark who should have evacuated like everyone else. Tell them Frost sent you, they'll take care of you."

As I pushed the little girl through the portal, she seemed to nod. As I did, the portal closed, and I heard explosions from the area of the gate. As I looked back, I could see the grimm running through the town, which meant one thing: the people at the gate failed to hold them back. I couldn't sense any more children in the town, so I cared less. But I decided to use the [Silver-Eyed] skill and send it out similarly to the dark pulse. A bright white pulse expanded from my feet, killing all the grimm as it moved out. I quietly nodded my head as I saw all the grimm basically being wiped out. As I made my way forward, I saw the front gate within a few minutes, seeing all the bodies of those who fought to defend the town. But I did notice one thing: the red-headed woman was still alive, barely, but alive. As I made my way forward, I started to have a moral dilemma—do I orphan a child or do I save this woman's life and risk not recruiting one of the main cast and someone who ended up becoming a maiden? Regardless, I knew I would be getting a good harvest from this, so I decided to ask [Great Sage] something.

"Can I ask you to automatically fuse skills that I obtained with compatible skills when I get new ones?"

[Great Sage] began to speak relatively quickly.

[I can and I will.]

As soon as I arrived at her, I grabbed the coin and decided to decide this with a coin flip. Now, this woman was relatively okay. She would be quite pissed to see someone decide if she lives or dies today with a coin flip, but she was relatively in a bad situation. So I flipped the coin—heads, I would save her; tails, I would kill her. As the coin fell from the air and landed on the ground, I saw heads. I quietly nodded my head as I picked up the woman and used [Predator] on all of the Grimm and dead hunter and huntress corpses. I started to receive a stream of notifications.

You have gained the [Counter Damage] skill.

You have gained the [Spear Mastery] passive skill.

You have gained the [Sword Mastery] passive skill.

You have gained the [Sword Style Quick Draw] passive skill.

You have gained the [Ax Mastery] passive skill.

You have gained the [Bo Staff Mastery] passive skill.

You have gained the [Rifle Mastery] passive skill.

You have gained the [Scythe Mastery] passive skill.

You have gained the [Wind Manipulation] skill.

You have gained the [Lightning Manipulation] skill.

You have gained the [Fire Manipulation] skill.

You have gained the [Darkness Manipulation] skill.

You have gained [Ice Manipulation] skill.

[Congratulations, [Sword Mastery], [Spear Mastery], [Ax Mastery], [Bo Staff Mastery], [Pistol Mastery], [Rifle Mastery], and [Scythe Mastery] have fused to be [Weapons Master] passive skill]

[Congratulations, [Quick Draw Sword Style] and [Dark Slayer Sword Style] have fused into [Quick Shadow Sword Style] passive skill]

[Congratulations, [Light Manipulation] and [Darkness Manipulation] have fused into [Yin-Yang Manipulation]]

[Congratulations, [Ice Manipulation], [Lightning Manipulation], [Wind Manipulation], and [Fire Manipulation] have fused into [Elemental Manipulation]]

I couldn't help but have a big smirk on my face. After all, I had just had a leap in power, and now that I focused on [Quick Shadow Sword Style], I could see that it was actually a far more dangerous style than both [Quick Draw] and [Dark Slayer]. It combined both the speed of [Quick Draw] and the power of the [Dark Slayer Sword Style], creating a very dangerous sword style. While it didn't have much in terms of defense, it had a lot of dangerous potential with counterattacks, quick precise attacks, and powerful attacks with incredible speed, losing a bit of precision but gaining power and the ability to defend against attacks.

Not to mention, I had [Elemental Manipulation], which meant I could manipulate any of the elements that were used to fuse into it. If my assumption is correct, once I get other manipulations, they'll be infused into this skill too. Then [Great Sage] began to speak.

[Your assumption is correct.]

Nodding my head, I quickly used [Blade Gate] to appear on the bulwark with my tribe and the small Pyrrha. As I appeared, I shouted out commands.

"Get some medical supplies; we have an injured person with us."

As I placed the woman on one of the benches nearby, I realized I never knew Pyrrha's mom's name. Now that I come to think about it, but I could see Luna quickly running over and began tending to the woman, as the little girl was being comforted and reassured by Suka. I could potentially see what Suka is doing, but I could care less. But if he does do something stupid, I'm going to beat his ass when he doesn't look like a child.
