Tania Scott thought that after she made such a statement, Lily would definitely show signs of fear.
But Lily just nodded along with her words.
"Yes, you're right, cousin. Great-grandfather, my judgment is shallow, and I'm bound to be deceived. You have a better eye, so why don't you help me examine it?"
"Who is your cousin!" Tania Scott burst out angrily.
She had never seen a woman who could climb along the pole so skillfully. Giving a gift was one thing, but to actually hope that her great-grandfather would examine it for her was another.
What did she think her great-grandfather was, one of those cheap experts out there?
"Oh, so you're not my cousin?"
Lily, feigning distraction, furrowed her brow, her voice neither too loud nor too soft, "You look older than me; I thought you were my cousin, but you're actually my younger cousin. Sorry about that, I misspoke earlier."
"You, you said what..."
"Enough —"
Larry Scott finally spoke up, carrying a cold sternness in his voice.
