The next day, Yuga didn't wait for the person mentioned by the Lerona Gym Leader but instead waited for the return of Sora and Christine.
The time gap between their returns wasn't long, but Christine came back with severe injuries. As soon as they arrived at the camp, she was rushed to the camp's doctor for treatment.
When Yuga saw Christine, she was still unconscious. She had been brought back by her Ludicolo and Abomasnow.
These two Pokémon seemed to have also sustained some injuries, but Pokémon possess greater physical resilience and recovery capabilities compared to humans, so they didn't appear to be in significant distress.
While others were frantically tending to Christine's injuries, Yuga had Chimecho assist Ludicolo and Abomasnow with some basic treatment.
Feeling the relief of their pain, both Pokémon cast grateful glances toward Yuga and Chimecho. However, they were deeply concerned about their Trainer, so after ensuring their own well-being, they went to watch over her.
In the midst of all this, Yuga couldn't help but think about the events that had transpired underground. It was clear that they had encountered something quite dangerous, considering the injuries sustained by Christine and her Pokémon.
Meanwhile, on the other side, Sora appeared to be uninjured, but he looked disheveled, and weariness was evident in his demeanor.
Completing this mission had been a formidable challenge. Despite it being an intelligence-gathering mission, the underground world proved to be exceptionally dangerous.
Had it not been for the presence of Elite level Pokémon by Yuga's side and the protection of a large group of Litwicks, Yuga's situation would not have fared better than Christine or Sora.
Yuga couldn't help but wonder if the difficulty of the top three in the previous year was similar to what they had just experienced.
Afterward, Yuga spent another day at the camp. The individual mentioned by the Lerona Gym Leader, who could handle the situation with Virizion and Landorus, finally arrived. It was none other than the Unova Champion, Mr. Alder.
Upon Mr. Alder's arrival, he immediately called Yuga and Sora into a room. As for Christine, though she had moved out of a life-threatening condition, she was still unconscious.
Due to the confidential nature of the matter, only a select few were present in the room, including Yuga, Sora, the Gym Leader Lerona who was already informed, Mr. Alder, and his assistant.
Mr. Alder, unlike his usual demeanor, was now quite serious. He extensively inquired about the situation in the underground world from both Yuga and Sora.
Before discussing Virizion and Landorus, Yuga and Sora provided detailed reports on everything they had seen and heard in the underground world. Simultaneously, they handed over their terrain recording devices to Mr. Alder's assistant.
Once the debriefing was complete, Sora left the room, leaving Yuga behind for further discussion with Mr. Alder.
Mr. Alder meticulously inquired about Yuga's encounter with Virizion and Landorus. Yuga modified the details slightly while explaining the sequence of events. Apart from Virizion being drawn to him due to his capturing of Sawsbuck earlier, there was nothing particularly sensitive to disclose.
"You've done a great job in handling this matter. The League will provide you with additional rewards, and if you have any requests, feel free to mention them. Tomorrow, someone will arrange for your departure from Pinwheel Forest, and further instructions will be provided," Mr. Alder said briefly.
With these words, Mr. Alder left the room with his assistant and the Gym Leader Lerona.
The following morning, a massive aircraft landed at the camp. Yuga, Sora, and the still unconscious Christine were all transported onto this aircraft.
On board, a Nurse Joy was assigned to take care of Christine, ensuring that her injuries wouldn't worsen during the journey back.
Upon arriving in the city center of Castelia, Christine was promptly taken to the hospital for treatment, while Yuga and Sora were once again accommodated in the dormitories designated the competitions participants.
Shortly after their arrival, Yuga met Mr. Charles and Mr. Reggie, who had come to offer rewards for his role in bringing information about Virizion and Landorus.
While they had come to give rewards, they were unaware of the specific reasons behind Yuga's commendation. The situation involving Virizion and Landorus had been classified as a top-secret event, with information sealed inside the Pinwheel Forest. No one outside Pinwheel Forest has received the information yet.
The League has always been extremely secretive about information regarding Legendary Pokémon because there are far too many individuals who have ulterior motives when it comes to these Pokémon. So, whether they were aware or unaware of this, the League has always maintained absolute silence.
This secrecy isn't only to protect the safety of Legendary Pokémon but also to uphold the agreements between the League and the various Legendary Pokémon.
Mr. Reggie presented Yuga with his first reward: a Poké Ball. When opened, a yellow Bug-type Pokémon emerged, buzzing excitedly around Yuga's head.
"Ribombee! Ribombee!"
Yuga! I missed you so much!
It was a Ribombee.
"This Ribombee belongs to the Kalos League. We noticed how well you interacted with it previously, so we arranged a trade with the Kalos League to bring it here," Mr. Reggie explained with a smile.
Seeing Ribombee again brought great joy to Yuga; it was an unexpected delight.
"Thank you, Mr. Reggie," Yuga said sincerely. This reward was considerate and thoughtful.
Mr. Reggie waved it off, smiling. "It's not entirely my doing; Elite Four Siebold mentioned it, and the Unova League arranged it. Unfortunately, Elite Four Siebold has already returned to Kalos; otherwise, you could have met him."
Yuga realized that Elite Four Siebold had been quite thoughtful, and he made a note to express his gratitude if they ever meet again.
After appeasing Ribombee, Yuga returned it to its Poké Ball and turned his attention to Mr. Charles.
Mr. Charles was a solemn elderly gentleman. Even in good spirits, his face remained impassive. When he saw Yuga looking at him, he calmly retrieved a Poké Ball and released a Pokémon that left Yuga utterly surprised.
It was a Deino!
Yuga hadn't expected the Unova League to be so generous as to offer him a pseudo-legendary Pokémon like Deino. However, considering the importance of the information he had brought about Virizion and Landorus, it made sense.
The lowest potential that all pseudo-legendary Pokémon had are green potential. Coupled with their excellent final evolutions, pseudo-legendaries with green potential could even rival regular Pokémon with blue potential.
Yuga used his Insight ability to assess the Deino's condition but found that he couldn't view its specific data, likely because it had just been born. Nevertheless, he could discern its base potential, which were simply green.
Yuga was more than satisfied. Having a pseudo-legendary Pokémon like Deino was already a difficult. This Deino would be a perfect companion for his Bagon.
Mr. Charles spoke, "This Deino was recently transported from the Village of the Dragon. It's just hatched, and I hope you will take good care of it."
Yuga assured him, saying, "You can count on me; I'll take excellent care of it."
Yuga's favorite pastime was finding potential partners for his Pokémon, and Deino and Bagon seemed like a perfect match. They could become childhood sweetheart and grow together, which he found delightful.
Mr. Reggie added, "In addition to these two Pokémon rewards, the League has also credited 10,000 Merit Points to your personal account. You're on your way to becoming a Gym Leader, and Merit Points are essential for your advancement."
Yuga nodded in acknowledgment. Merit Points were indeed vital for League members, often influencing their promotions within the organization.
