"Vivillon, Hurricane! Chimecho, Psychic!" Yuga shouted loudly to his Pokémon.
Vivillon nodded, and numerous Flying-type energies surged within her. Shortly, a hollow whirlwind centered around Vivillon spread outward, creating a calm zone in the middle where Vivillon and Chimecho stood.
Once the whirlwind formed, Chimecho emitted a vibrant purple light, and a powerful surge of psychic energy infused into the whirlwind. The whirlwind began emanating purple energy fluctuations.
Under this coordinated action, all the blizzards were kept at bay by the whirlwind charged with Flying and Psychic energy. Vivillon and Chimecho remained unharmed.
This combination of Hurricane and Psychic was a move Yuga adapted based on what he had seen in the anime of Ash Ketchum using it with Latias, Latios, and Rayquaza to battle Hoopa and Six Legendary Pokémon.
However, at that time, Rayquaza didn't use Hurricane; it used Dragon Ascent. Of course, Rayquaza doesn't learn Hurricane, even though it's a Legendary Pokémon.
Although Vivillon and Chimecho's version lacked the grandeur of that battle, they were facing only Nidoking and Nidoqueen, not Hoopa and six Legendaries.
Driven by anger, Nidoking and Nidoqueen continued to unleash blizzards even when it became apparent that the attack was ineffective. Countless pale snowflakes continued to rage in the battle room.
If it weren't for the protection provided by the Dream Eater within the shadow, Yuga would have likely frozen in the onslaught of this relentless blizzard.
"Vivillon, Chimecho, expand the whirlwind!" Yuga commanded.
Within the whirlwind's center, Vivillon and Chimecho began controlling it to expand outward continuously. Eventually, Nidoking and Nidoqueen were engulfed by the whirlwind.
The two massive beasts were relentlessly sliced by the whirlwind infused with Flying and Psychic energy. Their once sturdy armor showed numerous cracks.
By the time the whirlwind dissipated, Nidoking and Nidoqueen had already lost consciousness.
This Hurricane and Psychic combination move proved to be both formidable defensively and offensively.
However, it was clear that executing this combination move required exceptional coordination and imposed a significant mental strain on the Pokémon.
While both Vivillon and Chimecho could use Hurricane and Psychic individually, neither of them could perform this combined technique alone.
With Nidoking and Nidoqueen resolved, Yuga continued forward to the next level.
In the lobby on the ground floor, the judges, witnessing Yuga's use of this combination move to subdue the enraged Nidoking and Nidoqueen, gained a renewed appreciation for his skills.
"This kid's potential knows no bounds," Lorelei remarked with a sigh.
The participants from the Kanto region have been performing rather unremarkably so far. Therefore, after witnessing Yuga's impressive performance, Lorelei couldn't help but feel a bit envious of the Hoenn region.
Of course, the Kanto region's current lackluster performance doesn't mean they are inferior to others. It's just that among the younger generation, they are currently falling slightly behind.

As Yuga had speculated, starting from the 41st level, all the Guardian Pokémon came in pairs.
The Guardians of the 42nd level consisted of an Arcanine and a Alakazam. These two Pokémon were far stronger than the previous Nidoking and Nidoqueen, and they displayed excellent teamwork.
One of them focused on offense while the other provided support. Their roles were clearly defined, and they emphasized tactical coordination during the battle.
Alakazam, known for its high intelligence, had sacrificed its decent attack capabilities to function solely as a support Pokémon, leaving the offensive role to Arcanine, which had impressive Special and Physical Attack stats. Even facing the Flying advantage of Vivillon and the levitating ability of Chimecho, Arcanine proved more than capable.
Alakazam focused entirely on defending Arcanine, allowing it to unleash relentless attacks without concern. Crimson flames ravaged the battlefield, and the heatwave raised the room's temperature several degrees. After several rounds of intense bombardment, scorch marks covered the walls.
Yuga also noticed that this Arcanine knew moves like Flare Blitz and Wild Charge. If it weren't for the fact that its physical attacks couldn't reach Chimecho and Vivillon due to their positioning, Yuga suspected it might have fought even more recklessly.
In the end, it was Chimecho who utilized her trump card, trapping Arcanine firmly within a Gravity Field, leading to the defeat of this fiery opponent.
With Arcanine gone, Alakazam, which excelled only at support, lost its utility and, as expected, was defeated.
At this point, Yuga's performance officially tied with Grant, who had been the top performer among the first batch of contestants.
Upon reaching the 43rd level, Yuga encountered a challenge that Grant had failed to overcome – a pair of Pokémon: a Swift Swim Ludicolo and a Drizzle Pelipper.
This level had been where Grant's journey had come to a halt, which wasn't surprising.
Grant specialized in Rock-type Pokémon, most of which were heavyweight and often paired with Ground-types. When faced with agile Water-type Pokémon, Grant's team had struggled significantly due to type disadvantages.
