As the Merry continued its journey, a sense of tranquility enveloped the crew. However, Evan's behavior remained peculiar. "Nami's next illness from the ancient virus or bacteria in Little Garden seems imminent," Evan mused. "I hope she doesn't suffer; I don't want her to feel uncomfortable."
Evan's gaze shifted back to Nami, who seemed to sense his attention. "What are you staring at?" Nami asked, her expression betraying a mixture of curiosity and uncertainty.
Evan's smile grew wider. "Oh, nothing. You look particularly beautiful today," he praised her, causing Nami to give him a cold look before turning back to the ship's helm.
"Don't make me lose my concentration, I'm looking at the pointer, I have to keep the direction fixed since I'm one of the two people on this boat who can navigate and the other one is asleep right now," Nami said without taking her eyes off the pointer.
Observing the interaction, Robin's mind raced with various thoughts.
[Robin: It seems that this time is your special time. ]
[Robin: Your name has appeared so many times, the next reward must belong to you. ]
[Nami: I feel good now, I won't get sick, it's strange, the plot should not go wrong. ]
[Vivi; It may be because of the previous enhancements, your physique is already different. ]
Following several rounds of training, Nami's strength had significantly surpassed her previous capabilities. It seemed unlikely that a simple virus could pose any real threat to her now.
Evan, observing Nami's well-being, relaxed and settled into some fishing with a nearby rod. The tranquility, however, was suddenly disrupted as the ship began to tremble violently.
With concern etched across his face, Evan turned to Nami, the skilled navigator, and noticed her flushed complexion. "Nami, are you alright?" he asked, hastening to her side as lightning surged through the air.
Drawing her close, Evan draped his arms around her shoulders, providing support. "You're burning up. Your forehead is warm, and your face is flushed," Evan murmured, reaching out to feel Nami's forehead.
"I'm fine, just let me go," Nami responded, her face reddening even further as she tried to push Evan away, her efforts proving futile against his strength.
Her blushing cheeks weren't solely due to illness. Nami found Evan's proximity unnerving, as she caught a whiff of his distinct masculine scent and felt the steady thumping of his heart. She knew she had to create some distance between them.
"This turn of events was bound to happen. To cure the illness, we must head to Magnetic Drum Island," Evan observed quietly, still holding Nami close. "Though it doesn't seem too severe, I wouldn't want to witness Nami in pain," he added solemnly, his tone unusually serious for the moment.
Nami, while nestled in Evan's arms, lowered her head and spoke softly, "Please, let me go. I'm alright." Her voice barely rose above a whisper, the contrast between Evan's everyday glibness and his sudden gravity lending the scene a poignant air.
"Most likely, it's a virus or bacteria from Little Garden," Robin chimed in, offering her perspective. "It's an ancient island with dinosaurs, so some prehistoric microorganisms might still exist there," she added thoughtfully.
Evan contemplated the recent developments and attributed the insight to Robin's comprehensive knowledge as an archaeologist. "As expected of Robin's wife. Although she is a full-time archaeologist, her expertise seems to extend beyond the field of archaeology. She must have gleaned this from some ancient texts," Evan mused, nodding thoughtfully.
"This illness might be more complex than it seems. It's wiser to consult a doctor," Robin suggested, keeping a close eye on Nami. "Drum Kingdom is nearby, renowned for its medical expertise, though that reputation might be from bygone eras," Robin added, her gaze narrowing slightly.
"Luffy, do you notice something off with Nami?" Evan inquired, turning to the captain, who now seemed to have realized Nami's condition. "Miss Nami, you seem quite unwell. I'll prepare some revitalizing dishes for you," Sanji declared, dashing into the kitchen eagerly.
"There might be some complications here. Going to Drum Island would require us to deviate from our course, and the situation in Alabasta is far from favorable," Robin cautioned, her tone grave.
Vivi, upon hearing this, visibly paled for a moment, realizing the dire circumstances that had unfolded.
"Given the circumstances, I see two viable options before us," Robin continued, addressing the group. "First, we can travel to Drum Island together to assist Nami in finding a suitable doctor. A swift recovery for our navigator is imperative for the ship to resume its optimal speed," she suggested, her tone resonating with determination.
The crew members gathered around, fully aware of the critical juncture they found themselves in.
"This strategy seems to align closely with the direction of the original plot," Evan stated, acknowledging the familiar trajectory. "Having a wise mind on board can certainly help us navigate through many challenges," Evan commented, his eyes glinting with approval. Nami gently extricated herself from Evan's embrace, her expression a mix of confusion and relief.
"Additionally, we can consider the alternative plan, where Evan takes Nami to Drum Island, while the rest of us split into two groups," Robin proposed, introducing a novel approach to the situation. "I do possess some knowledge of sailing techniques, so navigating to Alabasta shouldn't pose a significant challenge," Robin added, her confidence apparent.
Evan blinked, absorbing the implications of the altered plan. The presence of Robin seemed to be adding a layer of unpredictability to the crew's dynamics. Nami, now freed from Evan's arms, gazed at Robin with a look of curiosity and contemplation.
[Nami: Robin, what are you doing?]
[Robin: Isn't this great? You can be alone with Evan now. ]
Through the friend function of the diary, the two started talking.
[Nami: Is there any benefit to you? Aren't we in competition?]
Yes, to some extent, they are indeed competitive.
[Robin: I think this is very interesting, and if you can win more, wouldn't it be better?]
But Robin seems to have come up with another relationship besides "competition".
