Capítulo 333: Chapter 332 "Jimon Hughes"

As Wentworth embarked on his journey up the mountain, voices resonated from the base of the deserted hill.

"Why did you stop me from interrogating him just now? Even though he's just a child, his direction is clear—towards the school. He's certainly not a Muggle who stumbled upon this place. We need to inquire him," articulated one voice.

"You know, despite the new term commencing, I haven't sensed the dream messenger's aura around him," remarked another.

"That's why I said we need to ask him, you dolt!" The other parrot argued.

To anyone observing, the source of the voices would appear surprising—a pair of parrots conversing in the vicinity.

Yet another parrot chimed in, "Relax. Observe his attire. The black robe with yellow stripes—a Hufflepuff from Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. No mistaking it."

Puzzled, the first parrot queried, "Hogwarts? The ancient institution in London akin to ours in Uagadou? What brings their students here?"

Another parrot, while preening its feathers, interjected, "The headmaster of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry is Albus Dumbledore, Supreme Mugwort of the International Confederation of Wizards and Witches. I've heard that he's here to investigate the recent allegations made at the International Animagus Symposium."

"He's also bringing his students along. Once the investigation concludes, they'll head to Japan with Emma for this year's Wizarding School Potions Championship."

Upon hearing this, the first parrot had a sudden realization and remarked confidently, "I never expected Hogwarts to send such a young student to compete. It seems Emma has one less competitor!"

"Don't underestimate him. Being chosen to represent Hogwarts at such a young age suggests exceptional talent. He's bridging the gap between age and experience," the second parrot cautioned.

"Who cares! Didn't the rumours around Hogwarts say that the quality of students has been deteriorating for the last few years?" Another parrot chimed.

Unaware of the avian discussion, Wentworth remained lost in the mesmerizing African scenery, soaking in the warmth of the sun and the gentle breeze.

Casting a cooling spell on himself, Wentworth muttered under his breath, "Who would've thought my first spell after leaving Nurmengard would be a cooling charm? I should've followed along with them and gone using the portkey!"

Glancing up at Uagadou in the distance, Wentworth sighed and resumed his ascent up the mountain. However, as he walked, he realized something odd.

Despite his efforts, the distance to the buildings on the mountainside didn't seem to shrink; it felt like he was running in circles.

"Am I lost? Should I call for them now?" Wentworth contemplated.

Initially dismissing it as an illusion, Wentworth soon realized it was all too real. After more than ten minutes of walking, he stopped in his tracks, puzzled.

"Could this be... a spell?" He suddenly realized as he brandished his wand.

Just as Wentworth prepared to counter the enchantment with his wand, a massive leopard emerged nearby. The creature scrutinized Wentworth before fixating on the wand in his hand, then lunged towards him.

As the leopard closed in, Wentworth muttered softly, "Would you like to be a companion for Nibelungen in Nurmengard? It gets lonely being the only dragon and the old man around."

Just as the leopard neared, Wentworth raised his wand and uttered, "Levioso!"

In an instant, the leopard was suspended upside down from a nearby tree.

Observing the immobilized creature, Wentworth expressed regret, "Unfortunately, you're not a magical being. Otherwise, I could have offered you to Mr. Newt. He'd appreciate it..."

Before he could finish, the trapped leopard began to protest vehemently:

"Let me down, you rascal! You're using magic recklessly outside school grounds! I'll report you to the authorities!"

"Three...no, five Galleons! Just give me five Galleons, and I'll keep quiet!"

Wentworth gaped at the talking leopard in disbelief, then responded slowly, "Mr. Newt Scamander, would you be interested in an ordinary, talking leopard?"

"Levioso!"

With a flick of his wand, Wentworth released the leopard from its upside-down predicament. Now aware of the situation, he deduced that the creature was likely an Animagus in disguise.

"Hey, youngster! I am still being kind to you right now. Don't you dare run away right after you dropped me!"

As soon as the leopard-turned-wizard landed, he morphed into a young man, appearing to be around Wentworth's age. Nursing his bumped head, he strode over, extended a hand, and demanded, "Now, make it at least six gold Galleons!"

Wentworth swatted the wizard's hand away indignantly, retorting, "My apologies, I mistook you for an ordinary leopard, not an Animagus. Consider yourself fortunate I didn't resort to Avada Kedavra!"

Hearing this, the wizard initially seemed taken aback, then waved off Wentworth's concern, saying casually, "Come on, we're not reckless enough to use deadly curses at our age! How is that possible in the first place for you to resort to such a curse in the first place against an animal?"

Wentworth merely smiled in response.

Undeterred, the wizard persisted, "I'm warning you, casting spells outside school grounds is a grave violation at Uagadou. If I report this, you'll be expelled immediately!"

"Nevertheless, as fellow alumni, I'm willing to extend my assistance in keeping this under wraps. Just to ease your mind, six Gold Galleons should suffice. And if you suspect extortion, feel free to take legal action! Now, worry not!"

Wentworth gazed at the self-assured wizard before him, impressed, and genuinely commended, "You're quite the wordsmith! Crafting such an argument? Admirable! You would make a great companion for my grandfather."

"Why would I care about your grandfather? Right now we are talking about the harm and how much you should compensate me for it," The wizard replied with an annoyed expression.

Yet, instead of being modest, the wizard continued to boast proudly, "It's a piece of cake. Anyone at Uagadou knows the reputation of Jimon Hughes—it's foolproof! Keeping your secret safe is as effortless as breathing; I won't breathe a word. That's a guarantee!"

Wentworth couldn't help but shake his head at Jimon's audacity.

Despite the blatant attempt at manipulation, he understood the gravity of the situation. Revealing his use of magic outside school grounds could lead to severe consequences.

Yet, yielding to Jimon's demands felt unjust.

Taking a moment to gather his thoughts, Wentworth weighed his options. Surrendering to extortion wasn't an honorable choice, but the risk of exposure loomed large.

Nevertheless, his integrity wouldn't allow him to succumb to Jimon's coercion easily.

With his head calculating lots of choices, Wentworth smiled toward Jimon before he tried to negotiate with him once again.
