Capítulo 83: Chapter 83: Invited to the Banquet

Lost in the world of pumping iron, time flew by.

In the blink of an eye, three months had passed, and the "Blackwater Security Company" had delivered the invitations, as promised.

However—

"Is this a compass?"

Torrebor curiously picked up the wristband with a circular glass casing. Inside the glass casing, a pointer trembled and quivered, indicating a certain direction.

"A Record Pointer, I see."

Rosinante nodded. The Vinsmoke family had no "territory," so it seemed that the engagement ceremony would take place at sea.

"This is a 'Record Pointer'," Rosinante explained to everyone, taking the wristband with a glass casing from Torrebor's hand.

"Ordinary compasses can determine direction across the Four Blues."

"But on the Grand Line, due to magnetic disruptions and extreme weather, you can only navigate between islands using these 'Record Pointers' that can store magnetic fields."

"And the 'Record Pointer' we have in our hands should point to the location of the Vinsmoke family."

Given the Vinsmoke family's technology, after this ceremony, these record pointers would probably lose their function, serving as true one-time "invitations."

"I see,"

After hearing Rosinante's explanation, it wasn't just Torrebor and the others who were amazed, even Jora and Pica expressed their amazement.

Only Rosinante and Doflamingo were truly aware of the peculiarities of the Grand Line.

"Defofodef, prepare the 'Donquixote Ship'."

Doflamingo stood up and received the record pointer Rosinante handed to him, giving the command.

Three months of intense training had turned the two of them into youth that looked like they had been pumped full of hormones, their height soaring to one meter sixty, the appearance of young boys.

"Let's set sail!"

The Vinsmoke family's prince was about to hold an engagement ceremony.

Though the ordinary citizens were oblivious, the entire northern sea kingdoms, nobility, powerhouses, and even the underworld were all closely following this "grand event."

Even though the Vinsmoke family didn't have any "territory," no ordinary nation would dare underestimate them.

Rather, it was only top-tier nations of the North Blue like the Roshwan Kingdom that could truly contend with the Vinsmoke family.

So nations of all sizes dispatched spies, hoping to uncover the personality of this "prince":

Is he radical or conservative, mild or belligerent, foolish or astute... after all, the Vinsmoke family's might was widely known, thanks to the Marines' comic book propaganda, unmatched in strength!

The difference was that ordinary people thought it was a "comic book," while the influential knew it was reality.

If nations were cautious, then for merchant ships, families, even pirates that roamed the gray areas, establishing relations with the Vinsmoke family was absolutely wonderful!

Numerous ships that received invitations set sail, heading toward a certain location on the sea.

Those powers that didn't receive invitations had their own methods—intercepting the ships that had invitations!

Perhaps the legendary Vinsmoke wouldn't turn away "guests," even if the invitation was soaked in blood—such invitations were acceptable.

While it might sound absurd, that's how customs worked in this world!

So:

"Defofodef, daring to attack us? They really don't know life from death."

On the deck of the Donquixote Ship sailing on the sea, Doflamingo turned to look beside him. A weathered pirate ship with a crab skull flag was rapidly approaching.

"The opponent is the 'Crab Pirates,' led by Captain 'Crab Pincer' Evra, with a bounty of 15 million."

"As for why they're attacking us—well, it's because we don't have a 'bounty',"

Beside Rosinante, who was flipping through a stack of bounties, had an indifferent expression. In this world, ordinary people were truly "ordinary," while the strong were powerful enough to take on armies or destroy countries single-handedly. That's why the "bounty" system was highly necessary.

Although bounties were customized based on the threat level to the "World Government," most of the time, bounties also measured a person's strength.

Bounties in the millions could be dealt with by a skilled group of elite sailors;

For bounties in the tens of millions, Marine lieutenants were necessary;

For bounties over fifty million, Marine captains would handle it;

Over a hundred million? Vice-Admirals would step in;

As for pirates with bounties in the billions, that's the target of Rear-Admirals or even Admirals.

And if there was no bounty, they would inevitably be seen as "soft targets."

"Who among you will 'handle' this?"

Rosinante's Observation Haki scanned the pirate ship speeding towards them.

The strongest presence, similar to Picca from three months ago, hadn't sensed any "experts."

Though it was possible that a master used Observation Haki to shield themselves—it was highly unlikely even in the North Blue.

Experts who mastered Haki would generally set sail for the Grand Line, as Haki, a power of the mind, was like rowing upstream—non-progression was regression.

"Defofodef, I'll do it."

Doflamingo let go of the helm and waved to Rosinante.

"Rosinante, take the helm."

"Alright."

As Rosinante took hold of the helm, Doflamingo had already reached the side of the ship and leaped downward.

At the same time, two figures leaped down from the deck as well.

Pica and Vergo!

Boom,

A second later, three columns of water erupted one after another next to the Donquixote Ship, using the recoil to propel Doflamingo, with Vergo and Pica as guards on either side. The three of them shot forward like arrows skimming the surface towards the pirate ship.

The water columns extended, creating a stunning scene!

The imposing display left the crew of the approaching pirate ship in panic, figures running about randomly. However, whether they intended to change course or initiate an attack, it was already too late.

"Tch, too obvious."

Torrebor huffed irritably.

"My slime ability allows me to silently approach the enemy..."

"With your snail-like speed, Doflamingo and the others will have dealt with them by the time you get there."

As Rosinante turned the helm, he quipped:

"Even Diaamanti has barely learned how to walk on water. Now the pressure's on you."

"Hey hey hey, what do you mean 'even Diaamanti has barely learned'?!"

Diaamanti, innocently caught in the crossfire, looked to the sky. Since Rosinante, who was already strong, and Picca and Jora, both of whom had joined in, increased their training, he'd been worried about losing his position as the "family's number one genius."

Three months of training had an obvious effect on Doflamingo's speed, the ship flying over the sea.

Jora was already skilled in kicking techniques, and Vergo had the highest physical attributes. Both had mastered the art of walking on water.

Diaamanti, after much effort, had also successfully learned how to walk on water, but he still lacked agility. If they encountered enemy gunfire, he'd easily be intercepted.

Aside from Peeka, who had no hope of learning, the only one left was Torrebor.

"Cough, people are naturally skilled... and unskilled..."

Although he stubbornly persisted, Torrebor knew he was falling behind.

In the past three months, he'd undergone high-intensity training and received proper nutrition, and his previously skinny frame was gradually developing muscle. However, compared to others with "extraordinary physiques," there was still a significant gap.

"There's no choice. In this world, even advisers and scientists need to be able to 'fight' to establish themselves."

"Don't worry, as long as you keep working hard, you'll definitely be able to do it."

While comforting Torrebor, Rosinante and the others had already rapidly approached the opposing pirate ship.

"Fiber Line!"

Facing the towering pirate ship, Doflamingo extended his right hand. Transparent threads shot out from his palm, wrapping around the ship's side.

Boom!

Pushing off with his feet, he leaped into the air. Simultaneously, he grabbed the thread to use its force to swing himself, creating an arc that brought him onto the pirate ship.

Upon reaching the deck, Doflamingo surveyed his surroundings. Over a dozen black muzzles were pointed at him, guns aimed and several curved blades slashing at him.

"Heh..."

Faced with the onslaught, Doflamingo didn't even raise an eyebrow. He spread his hands, and Color of the Supreme King's Haki burst forth. The pirates rushing at him suddenly went cross-eyed and collapsed, along with their weapons, at his feet.

?!

"Don't be afraid, it's just one person—"

"One person?"

As Doflamingo pulled his open hands forward, two figures shot up from the sea, following explosive water splashes, landing on the deck.

It was Vergo and Pica, whom he had pulled up using his thread ability.

"Wrong, it's three people."

After pulling Vergo and Pica onto the deck, Doflamingo retracted the wide, flat threads he used to pull them up. His fingers curled, and the threads transformed into sharp, rigid strands used for attacking.

"Five-colored Threads!"

With a swing of his right hand, five sharp, blade-like transparent threads shot forward, slicing through the terrified pirates on the deck! Amid the sound of flesh tearing, they didn't even know how they died.

"Ah~~"

"Devil Fruit users?!"

"Shoot, shoot—"

As Doflamingo began his massacre, Pica and Vergo launched attacks from the left and right. If only one person boarded, the pirates might have put up some resistance.

But facing experts who could take lives with a flick of their fingers, the morale of the pirate side plummeted rapidly.

And the worst part was, out in the vast ocean, escape wasn't an option.

---

"Too slow."

By the time Rosinante steered the Donquixote Ship closer, the deck was already covered in blood and bodies, with only Pica and Vergo still standing.

Doflamingo sat arrogantly on a burly body covered in captain's attire, looking unsatisfied.

"Is this guy really a pirate with a bounty of 15 million?"

"I barely used any effort, and he fell over."

...

Facing Doflamingo, who was showing off for no reason, Rosinante pointed at the body under Doflamingo.

"If there's no other crab-claw-weapon user in the North Blue, then he's the right one—"

"Just 15 million, that's all. In the North Blue, he might be someone, but on the Grand Line, he's just a small fry."

Although the fight had been senseless, for the Donquixote Family, it was a gain. The ships were the most valuable, and even an old three-mast sailboat could be sold for 40 million berries!

Added to that was the bounty head of "Crab Claw" Efray, with a bounty of 15 million. This was also why there was a profession called "bounty hunter."

"Take down the pirate flag and let the ship follow us."

After securing the spoils of war, the Donquixote Ship continued its journey to the feast, leaving behind a damaged crab skull flag and corpses being devoured by sharks in the sea.
