Capítulo 23: 1-10

Yu Qingyu stared at the message on his phone with furrowed brows.

'520, just to make things clear. Did Fu Zhiren have any conflicts with Ye Chaodan?'

[According to the information I have, there has been nothing of the sort. Although Fu Zhiren and Ye Chaodan have never been particularly close, their relationship has always been friendly and harmonious.]

'Then, is there anything Fu Zhiren has done that might have wronged Ye Chaodan, that Ye Chaodan has previously been unaware of?' Yu Qingyu tried again.

[There is nothing in my database that would indicate so.]

Yu Qingyu nodded his head, his expression dark and heavy. 'So, Ye Chaodan should have absolutely no reason to be hostile toward Fu Zhiren… Am I right?'

[That is correct.]

Letting out a long, defeated sigh, Yu Qingyu put down his cup on the bedside table and leaned back on the bed.

Since things were this way, it became pretty clear that Ye Chaodan must have been replaced by a transmigrator. And, to make matters worse, an extremely unfriendly transmigrator.

But that still didn't explain everything.

'Why did he just take me to the park and dump me there though? Is his mission to make my life difficult or something?'

[I don't have any information regarding his mission. However, judging by his actions last night, that is certainly one of the possibilities.]

'What?' Yu Qingyu's eyes widened. He wasn't asking seriously, but… 'Is that even allowed?'

[Yes, of course. There are no restrictions to what the mission might be.]

'Hmm…' At this point, Yu Qingyu was no longer surprised. 'But it still doesn't make any sense. The other transmigrator appeared over a week ago, and Ye Chaodan was still treating me normally back then…'

[That is perhaps because he didn't know your identity until yesterday.]

The conversation with the system made Yu Qingyu's headache get worse again. 'And how did he figure it out then?' he asked, rubbing his temple.

[Host doesn't remember?]

Not getting any answer, 520 decided to remind him. [After getting drunk last night, Host muttered 'I wish every world would be like this one…' If the host of 748 had heard it, then it wouldn't be difficult for him to deduce that you are the other host present in this world. And it happens that Ye Chaodan was sitting right on the other side of the table from Host, well within earshot.]

Covering his eyes with his palm, Yu Qingyu let out a groan. Did he really say it out loud? How could he be so careless? He decided that from now on, he wouldn't touch any alcohol, not until he returned to his original body. It was simply too dangerous, having absolutely no idea about his safe limits!

520 had a few more things to say about the events, but seeing its host's reaction, it decided to hold back for now. After all, it wasn't entirely sure about its theories, and it didn't make that much of a difference when it came to the mission… So there was no need to give its host more worries.

[I recommend Host to carry on as usual and observe the situation. There is still a possibility that it's just a misunderstanding. Or perhaps, the host of 748 tends to be hostile toward other transmigrators, but his mission might not necessarily get in the way of yours…] It tried consoling Yu Qingyu instead.

Hearing 520's words, Yu Qingyu sighed. It didn't exactly put him at ease, but the system was right. He should focus on his own mission. There was just too much he didn't know, and not much else he could do…

'By the way, I remember Jiang Lu asking me to do something yesterday. What was it?'

[It was a plan suggested by Ye Chaodan, to send someone to spy on Su Yongkan's team. Jiang Lu has asked Host to contact Qin Yuan, whom Fu Zhiren was friends with, to see if he could help.]

'A plan suggested by Ye Chaodan, huh…' Yu Qingyu had a bad feeling about it. 'I guess I'll better wait with it for now, until I figure out his intentions…'

Technically there was nothing particularly wrong about the idea, but since it came from a person who had just dumped him in the park at night while he was unconscious, Yu Qingyu just couldn't help but feel suspicious.

'Hmm…' Thinking about the mess he was in, Yu Qingyu stared blankly at the ceiling.

Suddenly, he sat right up. '520, I'm gonna try contacting Ye Chaodan. What do you think?'

[If Host wants to. I don't think it can cause any more harm, as long as Host is careful with words. Revealing any more than you already had would be unwise.]

'Mn, I know,' Yu Qingyu nodded and reached for his phone. It was simply bugging him way too much. He needed to at least try clearing the air, preferably before the next training, which was supposed to be the next day.

"Hey, do you have a moment to talk?" he quickly typed. He read the message several times, before sending it to Ye Chaodan.

Then, he waited, and waited, and waited… But the answer never came.

Two hours later, he got tired of waiting, and grabbed his phone again, and checked his inbox. The message was marked as read…

Just in case, he tried sending one more message. But once again, he received absolutely no response.

'I guess I have no choice but to wait until tomorrow then…' Yu Qingyu sighed, setting up his alarm. Anxiety was eating him up alive, but he was feeling so sluggish and tired that he had no trouble falling asleep anyway.

The next day, unsurprisingly, Yu Qingyu woke up with a burning fever, and nose so stuffy that he had difficulty breathing properly.

Fighting against grogginess, he slowly dragged himself out of bed and into the kitchen in search of medicine. However, all that he found was a half-empty box of expired painkillers.

Having no other choice, he drank a few cups of warm water, trying to reduce his dehydration, and put three jumpers on. Although it was already late spring, and the weather started getting pleasantly warm, Yu Qingyu's whole body was shivering violently, feeling as if he'd been thrown into a walk-in freezer.

[You should just ask someone to buy medicines for you instead.] 520 suggested, bewildered by its host behavior. Why would anyone in such a state want to drag themselves outside? He should stay in bed the whole day, hidden under a few layers of blankets!

But Yu Qingyu just shook his head in response. He didn't want to bother anyone with his problems. Besides, the quicker he'd get the medicine, the quicker he'd make himself functional again. There was a convenience store just around the corner, he'd be back in no time.

520 observed his actions, having difficulty processing his way of thinking. [Host, you're not planning to go to the training, are you?] it finally asked.
