Capítulo 37: Chapter 37: Successful Treasure Hunt

[I'll have to test its ability later on… ] Zaos placed the dagger back into the chest and sealed it.

He looked around the room, casting his gaze on all the items stored in it.

[I'll just leave them here. I can come to get them if the need ever arises… ] Zaos then shifted his attention to the unconscious Syvis.

[Better get out of here,] He grabbed the chest containing the Superior-grade dagger and walked up to Syvis. He hoisted Syvis onto his shoulder as he made his way out of the chamber.

Zaos activated his phantom elemental weave: his body, Syvis, and the chest in his hand turned illusionary. He quickly passed through the collapsed entrance and re-emerged in the tunnel outside the chamber.

*Huff!*

Zaos breathed heavily as he quickly canceled his elemental weave.

[I guess turning someone else into a phantom while also being in that state is too much for me,] He took a moment to catch his breath.

After a few seconds of heavy breathing, Zaos finally regained his composure and made his way out of the hideout.

He smoothly passed through the traps using his prior knowledge of them and made his way out of the hideout in under a few minutes.

Outside the cavern entrance stood the original four elves Zaos had instructed to guard the area. Zaos' arrival startled them, they were about to seize him when the light of their torches illuminated his figure.

"Boss!" The elves quickly greeted Zaos.

"Where are the others?" Zaos questioned after a glance around his surroundings.

"They went to secure the perimeter," An earth elf in the group answered.

"Call them back, and one of you should carry her," Zaos ordered as he gestured at Syvis on his shoulder.

"Yes, boss!" The earth elf from earlier stepped forward and took Syvis from Zaos. In the meantime, the wind elf in the group left to find the rest of the group with a torch in his hand.

Zaos and the group waited in silence for the others to arrive. While waiting, Zaos fiddled with the chest in his hand as he contemplated.

[My strength has increased once again with this weapon, but without an evolution, my fundamental abilities remain the same…

[I need to train more vigorously! Yet I can't do that without settling the matters involving the crime circle… ] Zaos frowned slightly.

[Once I return, I will have to settle this so I can enter some closed-door training! I can't waste any more time…] Zaos decided.

A few minutes later, the others in the group returned. They looked somewhat stunned when they saw Syvis but none of them voiced their opinion.

"We are returning now," Zaos ordered as he took a step forward.

The rest of the group silently acknowledge, taking their positions in the formation they used earlier.

Once the group was done with their preparation, they immediately marched out of the forest.

They traversed quickly through the scarcely populated forest and in under a few minutes, the group exited the forest.

Under Zaos' lead, they traveled past the settlement and headed to their destination.

They encountered a few elves on their journey but were avoided by the other parties due to the size of their group.

By the time the stars in the sky were slowly residing, the group arrived at the forest around the Red Lotus gang's headquarters.

The group swiftly traversed the forest and arrived at the manor.

[*Phew* I should probably get a mount soon…] Zaos exhaled with a hint of exhaustion.

Mounts on Krulon referred to beasts or Savage Beast used as a mode of transport. Although Zaos was capable of long-distance transport without one, the comfort they provided was alluring. He sighed before issuing orders to the group.

"You, take her to the underground chambers and lock her up, while the rest of you are dismissed," Zaos ordered as he made his way into the mansion.

"Yes, boss!" The group of elves behind him silently sighed in relief.

Zaos was immediately greeted by the wind elf maid when he stepped into the building.

"Welcome back, my lord," She had her classic enchanting smile plastered on her face.

"Would you like something to eat?" She questioned almost eagerly.

"... Just prep the bath for me," Zaos instructed before making his way to the upper floor.

"Understood," The green-haired maid quickly went to fulfill Zaos' request.

Zaos walked to the master bedroom. Once inside, he carefully placed the chest on the bedside table before taking off his clothes and lying on the bed.

He didn't ponder on any topic but simply laid on the bed and relaxed. The chilling breeze of the region cared for his skin as he enjoyed the rare moment of peace and silence.

Zaos lay there for a few minutes, lost in the peaceful atmosphere. He was just about to fall asleep when a knock broke the still of the room.

"My lord, the bath has been prepared," The sweet and soothing voice of the wind elf maid sounded, yet at this moment, Zaos was annoyed by it.

[Tch! Can't I get some peace in this world?] Zaos grumbled lightly before responding.

"I'll be there in a few seconds," He answered in a deep voice.

"Understood," The maid moved away from the door.

Zaos lazily got out of bed, wrapped his towel around his waist, and headed to the bathroom.

Contrary to last time, the maid was nowhere near the bathroom. It seemed she had learned from the previous rejection.

As Zaos wasn't interested in her presence, he silently made his way into the bathroom and took a bath.

After a few minutes of the refreshing bath, Zaos emerged from the bathroom. With a damp body and towel, Zaos returned to his room.

He changed into a set of clothes that had been laid on his bed before crawling into bed. The events of the day had drained him significantly.

Zaos slept for a few hours before waking to the exotic sounds of the forest creatures. He got out of bed, stretched, and looked out the window.

The view from the window wasn't the best but the beautiful dark sky and lively atmosphere of the forest produced a unique aesthetic contrast.

[It should be almost mid-day by now… ] Zaos made his way downstairs. On the way, he met with the green-haired maid who usually took care of his request.

"Good morning, my lord!" She said with a charming smile.

"Get me something to eat," Zaos nodded slightly as he moved towards the dining room.

The maid bowed before rushing off the kitchen. By the time Zaos had sat at the dining table, the maid had returned with a set of dishes in her hand.

Zaos quickly enjoyed his meal. When he was done, he ordered the maid beside him.

"I will be heading to the dungeons, If anyone looks for me, inform me immediately," Zaos instructed as he arose from his seat.

There was a slight change in the maid's experience at the mention of the word "dungeon" but she quickly concealed it before Zaos could notice.

"Understood, my lord." She bowed to the former.
