The butler peeked out the window. He squinted, trying to get a better view, of the supposed departing knights who, instead of leaving, seemed to be lingering around.
From his position by the window, the butler observed them loitering about. Their horses were tied up, and it looked as though they were settling in rather than departing as expected.
"Seems like the other knights have decided to stick around, my lady," he reported to Lady Clarissa, who was lounging on the couch.
"I see," she responded. She did not seem too surprised. It wasn't so much that she was shocked, but rather, she simmered with anger she could not quite figure out how to let out.
Mira, on the other hand, sank down to her knees once again as soon as their guests left the room. Lady Clarissa had given this punishment to her since the previous night.
