"Why do you look so sad?"

As Veronica walked over to Damien, who was working out in the training room, she broached the subject that had been on her mind for days. Damien had always been a man with a strong sense of justice. Most of the time Veronica found it funny because Damien had the mindset that he could hurt a lot of people just by being just.

Lately, however, he had been very quiet. He was completely focused on his training and saw very little of his friends. He didn't even go to his fiancée Sylvie.

"What makes you think I'm sad?"

Damien put his sword aside and wiped the sweat from his face with a towel. Veronica handed him one of the two cans of Coke she had bought before coming here. Damien hesitated for a moment, then took the can of Coke from her hand and sat down on the bench.

"Come on, did you really think you could hide it from me?"
